Well, I hate to just post me too, but I'm requesting a PM on the instructions.
Is there any particular reason not to just post the instructions in this thread? The Devs certainly know that it's possible and similar texture replacements (such as the vidiotmaps map pack) exist, so it certainly seems like posting them here wouldn't be an issue. I could be wrong, I guess.

At the same time, because it's 'almost not legal' and 'modifying the game' it falls into the 'Verboten - Must Not Discuss!' category, here on the forums. We are guaranteed to be Mod-hammered on the forum and face account-level discipline, if we go into details. So, let's not, right?

Just a small update,
I managed to get my shiny new login screen set up this evening and everything was working fine for a while until I decided to dual box which wasn't an issue in itself but it seemed to have -triggered- a very nasty issue. As soon as I was finished with that session I closed both clients and went back to a single client a few minutes later, shortly after getting in-game my client started acting unstable. Upon trying to jump zones I would get a windows error telling me CoH had stopped responding, a few moments later it would close CoH upon me acknowledging the issue message. I tried several different things which only seemed to make the issue worsen (The game wouldn't even make it passed the "enter city" button before it would become unstable).
Finally fed up with it, I reverted everything back the way it was and the game was once again stable.
This is almost certainly an isolated issue, and probably something easily rectified, if anyone has any thoughts towards a way to -fix- my issue please PM me as I don't want to hijack this thread. Thanks!

okay so this may sound stupid but how do you change your login splash screen I can't even figure out where that stuff is in the city of heroes folder
Still have not been able to get a custom screen on Win7 (64). Created the texture on WinXP, and the new screen does show...BUT whenever I zone, the game crashes on the new texture screen. Anyone out there found a way around this ?

it would be a great update to have an official changeable login created.. where you can simply select the picture you want to use in the preferences.

This appeared to be the problem eversince #22.
I heard many fellow players complain about the crahses too (and they had a custom login screen aswell).
For those who have installed a custom loginscreen and have lots of game crashes:
The choice is: Look at States's crotch at every loadscreen and not having the game to crash, or have a 80% crashbonus when having your custom login screen installed.
If you can't figure out how to remove your custom login screen, send me a PM and I'll be happy to explain it.

The driver crash does seem to happen most when attempting to zone. Hm, I also gave my friend a custom, and his game locks up and the window stops responding occasionally. Actually the game doesn't say anything when it crashes. It just stops, then you'll get the "busy" icon as a cursor and Windows (7 in my case) will tell you the program has stopped responding and gives you the option to close it, wait or find a solution (something like that).
If it's warning you about the drivers, you'ld better update 'm.
Usually it's no biggy, but if you try and find support they will always let you update your drivers first before they help you any further.
But it sounds to me the crashes both you and your friend are experiencing are from the custom screen. At least those that started occuring after #22.

Mine was complaining about drivers, took away custom login, no problems.
Edit: Phew. All who requested the instructions all the way back to yesterday have gotten a PM.
