I currently own a SG on Freedom that I was planning on building up the prestige on, then selling, but I never got around to it. I am willing to make "Marketeers Anonymous" available for this endeavor, and for general marketeering, unless people don't want it.
-
Y'know, I teamed with Fulmens several times during the BMLS days, especially on Cap runs. I never knew that there was a global channel for it.
I think I like the idea of having two toons for this: One lowbie (20 max) for Posi runs that can get the really low level stealth IOs, and one at 35 for the mid-level stuff. Now to go figure out what they'll be.
And I'm still wondering about faction. -
Quote:An 8' radius PBAoE has an area of (pi*r^2) approximately 201 sqare feet. If you're allotting 9 square feet (1 per 3' square box), that's room for 22 1/3 in the area, not "only 7".Let us assume that it's relatively easy to get targets to about 1 per 3' square box. Arbitrary yes, also seems to fit reasonably with observation.
In this case we can fit 10 enemies into the 15' footstomp and tremor without any worry and 10 into the 10' fire sword circle and frozen aura with minimal delays. In the same time/effort we can only fit 7 targets into any of our 8' aoes and only 5.4 targets in thunderstrike. I'll let it have 6 anyway since it seems to need all the help it can get.
It looks like you're merely squaring the radius, which gives you a little over a quarter of the actual area a PBAoE covers. -
Is this a "Horde it for ourselves" or a "Let's feed the market, and make a fortune doing it" idea? If the latter, I could be convinced to join, though I always feel strange straying from my home turf (Victory).
Red, Blue, or both? Will there be a global channel? Who's forming the SG(s)? Are we level locking at a set level, or a mix of levels? (10 for -KB, Steadfast Res/Def, Regen Tissue Unique; 15 for Stealth IOs; 25 for LotG +rech; 35 for the "mid level" which includes most sought-afters; something else?) -
http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Widow
If you follow the links to the powersets, Follow Up's description says you can't pick Build Up if you tke it. Build Up also explicitly mentions that you can't take Follow Up if you take it. Aim, however, lacks any mention of either. These descriptions are all taken directly from the game.
I don't have a Widow of either sort, so I can't say. But if the Wiki suggests that it's allowed, and Mids' permits it, I'd say it will probably work. -
Quote:I usually refer to a pair of d10s, one marked 0-9, the other marked 00-90, as a d100, though I do own a Zocchihedron. I somehow doubt that a matched pair of d10s would be displasing to the gods.D100s are the work of He Who Brings Ones as demonstrated by the fact that they are not uniformly random. Sacrificing one will not appease the RNGs but instead drive you further into darkness.

Sounds to me like they're working on a system where they can grant server transfers to people.
My guess would be that it'll either be added to Vet Rewards, like free slots are, or it will be something like WoW's program where they periodically offer free transfers, but only from (insert overloaded server here) to (insert underpopulated server here). -

Quote:Minor nitpick/clarification: After you defeat a player, there's a five minute timer where you can't get a drop from that player, regardless if you got a drop or not. If you turn around and defeat a different player, it checks for a drop, and then puts a five minute timer on them as well.Yes it does. Once you get a kill, you have a chance to get a recipe drop. After that kill, there's a five minute timer placed on you until your next chance. If you do get a recipe drop, then there's a ten minute wait before you can get another chance for a drop.
Once you get a drop, a ten minute timer is put on you, and you can't get a drop from any kill until it wears off.
Note that the five minute timers can be refreshed during the ten minute "no drops" interval. If you kill a player and get a drop, then kill him 9:59 later, you get no drop (because you're still in the ten minute window), and you can't get a drop from him in the next five minutes (until the 14:59 mark). This is possible because the two timers are completely separate. -
Quote:I'm not sure if there's a free program that does PDFs, but GIMP is free, and isn't just for Linux systems, and would work for the image-only option. Those solutions would require a serious real-money investment to pull off. Indesign is around $700, Photoshop is about the same. The Adobe Suite is even more (unless there was a student discount). Just not practical for the long term.
I think I'd rather see an off-site version that allowed full HTML functionality, if the forums can't be made to work. JPGs and PDFs would seem unnecessarily clunky to me. -
That build would not be softcapped on a brute. While brutes and tanks have the same caps, brutes and scrapper have the same base numbers.

One of the Enforcer pieces MAY fit the bill.... Let me see if the wiki has a pic. I doubt it though, since it's a standard costume piece, not a purchasable or unlockable.
Hmm.... the Enforcer armor can be seen here, but that's the full breastplate. The other chest detail is just the top two plates that cover the breasts/pecs. -
Quote:I didn't mean to imply that you were taking credit for it; I'm just complaining that nobody ever GIVES credit for it, and then people like you find it, and have no clue where it came from.I just went to google, did an image search for "Back Alley Brawler" and voila, found that little beauty, and linked it into this forum.
Nice to know who the creator is though, I had a good giggle at that pic Roderick.
*editited for clarity* FYI, i was only referring to the first picture as the one that I'd edited, that is, I just found a pic of him and stuck the text in front of it, so it would look like it was on his shirt.
The second picture however I found as is, from just doing an image search in google. I have no idea who posted it out there, but it was darn funny so I figured it was worthy of inclusion in this thread.
And since the thread where it was originally posted got eaten in the error last year, that ate every post made withing the 2 weeks previous, nobody seems to know where it originated from. :/ -
Father Xmas - his Forum name, Global name, and Main toon are all Father Xmas. He frequents the Technical Help and Player Questions forums, doling out help by the sackfull.
On the rare occasion that I've bumped into him in-game - we have the same home server - it's more of the same. In fact, on the first TF or Trial I ever ran, he stuck with us through a failed trial run, then gathered up those that wanted to try again, and once we had formed, switched to his main and led us through the tunnels, then switched back to his character in the group and led us to a hassle-free success.
No offense to your friend, but if there were an official CoH Santa, my vote would be with Father Xmas. -

Security Level 4.
When you get enough XP and ding 4, you will not have access to Ninja Run.
When you train to level 4, one of the things on the list of things earned will be:
-A new inherent power: Ninja Run -
Quote:That's funny. Father Xmas' explanation made perfect sense to me. Yours made none at all. Further proof that not everyone's mind is wired the same way.Mathamtically its exactly the same as the way Father Xmas presents, I have had a lot more sucess getting friends to understand when its presented verbally, rather than purely in equations.
It's good to have both; more likely that people will find something that they understand. -
Minor threadjack for a few related questions:
1- Did they ever add a way to do the CC emotes without changing costumes?
2- If not, would a bind or macro of "cce 0 ccspin$$cce 1 ccspin" (on a character with identical costume 0 and 1) have the same apparent effect?
I'd check the latter myself, but I can't log in at work. -
I just scored Woman from Tokyo on Freedom.

OK, to point out what Lemur said, and elaborate on it, in a slightly less "childish" way:
-They're aware of sereval issues with the pack, and, like the boosters before them, are patching as they get fixes done.
-Clipping always happens. Sometimes worse than others. The policy used to be "If a costume piece isn't 90% or more clipping free in any combination, we won't release it." This upset a lot of people, and it seems that they've relaxed the policy a bit. If you don't like how the costume part clips, your options are to ignore it, find a different way of using it so it doesn't clip, or don't use it. Same goes for the free costume parts.
-It's a purchasable pack. Since the Test Server is connected to the billing server to determine what account privileges you have (boosters, vet rewards, etc), they can:1- Give everyone the pack for free, so that they have access to it on the Test Server. 2- Disconnect the Test Server from anything Live and give Test access to the pack to everyone. The Character copy tool ceases to function in this case, for the duration of the testing. Both of these options also "leak" the packs, which NCSoft seems to try to avoid. Or, 3- Do as much in-house testing as possible, then release it when it's ready, and fix any issues that crop up as quickly as possible, as they did with the Wedding Pack (veil issues), Cyborg Pack (Self Destruction issues), Valkyrie Pack (Mission Transporter issues), and the Super Science Pack (Super Tailor issues).
If you don't like my reply, feel free to /ignore me as well.
Hey Lemur! I've got an extra large tub of Cherry Burgundy Haagen-Daaz over here, and an extra spoon! Maybe it'll tke the bite off being ignored! -
Quote:Last time I made a new character, less than a week ago, I ran the missions from the starting contact, and outlevelled them before I finished them all. I then went to KR, and talked to my first contact. He gave me one mission, then sent me to talk to David Wincott.Yeah, there are alternate paths, but the first one that isn't five years old is Faultline, and by the time a new player gets to 15, he will already have had to go through some of the WORST content the game has to offer, including the misbegotten Positron TF, the mandatory hazard zone hunts, the endless fex-ex missions, the constant running around between multiple zones for no legitimate reason, the stupid stories and missions, replete with bad writing, cheap mechanics and uninteresting design. Currently, the worst the game has to offer is found in two places - 1-10 and 40-50. 1-10 is what new people first see.
The Outcast and Troll hunts were tricky, because they were +1 to me, but there was constant traffic around the trainer, store and hospital at the entrance to the Hollows; I'm sure I could have easily formed a team had I wanted to.
By the time I was doing Flux's street hunt, all the Outcasts I had to deal with were grey. No problem there. I entered Frostfire's mission at level 9. I was 11 by the time I reached him, so the fight wasn't that difficult. I didn't feel like doing Julius' missions, so I ignored what the game was telling me to do, and forced it to give me a different contact.
As it stands, a new player who does what the game tells them to, is led through the Hollows, Faultline, Striga and Croatoa, because - even though the vetran players complain about it - the original contacts stop giving out their crappy old missions and go into "Talk to Wincott/Temblor/Peebles/Bower" mode until you do. And as soon as you talk to one of those people, they offer their missions, deflecting you from the "worst content in the game."
Quote:by the time a new player gets to 15, he will already have had to go through some of the WORST content the game has to offer, including the misbegotten Positron TF
There is a LOT for newbies to do, and the repetitive old missions aren't repetitive (yet) for people who haven't done them yet, so they aren't that bad. And they don't get repetitive that quickly either; especially with the greatly increased levelling speed, it's easy to take a totally different route to 25 on multiple different characters. -
Willpower doesn't get as much from being IO'd out as other sets do. If you go with that brute, I'd focus on +recharge to speed up [Foot Stomp].
I have a Shield/SS tank. I often ride out the Rage crash with no ill effects. Note that I'm over the softcap, so the crash leaves me at 30% def, and I have high resists too. Three-slotting [Rage] with recharge IOs lets you fire it again just after it crashes. With 2-3 5% recharge set bonuses (which are easy to get), you can fire it just before it crashes. [Hasten] will allow you to double-stack it for at least 20-30 seconds, longer with enough set bonuses. Recasting [Rage] during the crash, or double stacking it, will remove the -def part of the crash, but not the -damage or -endurance.
I can't comment on Claws, since I have no experience with it, Scrapper or Brute. Super Reflexes is REALLY good - with sufficient IO investment. And it DOES have a taunt aura. The Brute version has taunt in [Evasion].
At current prices, you cannot softcap a WP on 500 million. I personally would go with the SS/SD, though with lower numbers, it will be more expensive to softcap than a tank is. Whichever you choose, make sure you are patient with your bids! Waiting a week can cut 50% or more off the cost of some high-end IOs, and with redside's prices, that's important. -
