To Sam's credit, they actually have said that they are going to announce the WTF in the launcher, but as late as around midnight last night they still had not added it there. Excerpt from the news article yesterday:
"Look for the Weekly Strike Target to be announced every Tuesday on the NCsoft Launcher and on the City of Heroes forums."

I'm sure they'll get around to making sure that bit of "announcement fluff" is good after they've finished dealing with the major Hotfix that's causing game-crashing map disconnects. Priorities people.

I keep thinking this should be somewhere in the interface. I'm not sure exactly where one might find this. But the GMOTD is a bad place to put it, if this is the idea. Not unless they have a separate section devoted to this.

I suppose the Information Kiosks may not be a bad place to put, you know, important information. Do those even work any more?

I find this statement, on its own, far too amusing... especially with the "I" in front in I19.5.

I'm not saying it shouldn't have been accounted for already.
I'm just saying that since it apparently wasn't -now- is not really the time for the Devs to be focusing on that.

How about the Nav window? When it isn't showing a waypoint or mission objective, it could show what the current WST is. For level 50 characters that have unlocked the Alpha slot, anyway.

That wasn't to complain, more to discuss that if it WERE put in-game, where it should be put. I honestly don't have a good idea as to where other than to put them in the Info Kiosks.

Ultimately they'll figure it out when they have a spare minute. Again I agree it should have been handled already. But when our proverbial "Titanic" sprung a leak yesterday the last few hours since then weren't exactly the right time for the Devs to be polishing the brass, so to speak.

Well, duh. If they had an unlimited amount of resources I'm sure they'd get you new content, and revamp the old zones while they're at it. Also give everyone a pony.

As-is they're going to have to fiddle around with both. (I'm not certain how Paragon Studios is organized, but the people working with the new system might not actually be the same people working on new content as in missions/TF's and art assets)

And if they can get some more people to stay by making (comparatively) minor changes like these ones, why not?

Not saying the crashing bug isn't Priority 1 right now, but that info and planning was put in place (and slightly announced) long before this bug was encountered and reported. I would have preferred that when they announced these were the places we could find the relevant info, that they could have been found at those places.

I'd really like the devs to add some kind of journal to the game, that would keep track of all the content you'd one, as well as other stats.

You know what else is Ill-conceived? The font choice for the topics on the forums. I read this a 3-conceived first, which didn't make much sense.

The Clues / Souvenirs tab already does this, to an extent. Every story arc you finish gives you a souvenir with a synopsis of what occurred. But I'm guessing what you mean is something a little more extensive.

Yes - like an actual timeline of what you've done, as well as the surrent tasks you're doing, plus any content alerts like WST messages.

Something more similar to, say, WAR's Tome perhaps?

A timeline would be awesome though, but that reminds me of the Vault [or whatever it was called] project that was dropped.

Or something that just does an RSS feed of events, so at least the players could 'make' one for themselves.

As a sidenote, I just noticed that the Strike Target is labeled in the NCSoft Launcher [not in the CoHUpdater/Launcher yet though]. I did not notice when this happened however, so it's possible that once the hotfix info drops from the CoHUpdater it'll inform us there too .

So that explains why I don't see it in the CohUpdater. Well, I suppose the NCsoft Launcher is at least something, though I have to question how many people actually have that considering it's unnecessary and doesn't integrate City of Heroes to begin with.

Now, yes, they did mention they'll be integrating City of Heroes into the NCsoft Launcher. It just seems like they should have done that before they started putting important information into it. Really, all the CohLancher does when it runs is load an HTML web page in a Windows Explorer interface, from what I've seen. Put it in there, maybe? As a placeholder, at least?

I agree. My theory, which is just personal, is that the information is 'supposed' to be in the text box. However, currently, that's occupied by the more pressing Hotfix notification. It should really be in the CoHUpdater at least. Time will tell I guess . I'd really perfer an in-game method myself too though. Perhaps add it to the Radio/Newspaper or something.

Again - Info Kiosks! Remember those things that tell you who defeated the most of what in the zone and don't actually work? They're all over the place in City of Heroes, and there are a bunch of broken ones all over the Rogue Isles. I've always wanted to make the actually do something. Maybe even mark them on the map.

I like that idea a lot. I don't think those things have ever done anything I'm interested in, even when they worked. (They might work now, but I haven't clicked one in years, because hey, nothing of interest there if I do. Now if they told me personal stats like how long I've been online with this character instead of forcing me to chase down civilians with the right initials, then we'd really have something.)

Oh, I think there's an option. I saw in the Incarnate box that you can craft the rare item with 32 shards.

I kinda like the GMOTD, since I can call that up with a /gmotd command.

How about on Mender Ramiel's contact page? Since he's the one that sort of kicks off and manages your initial foray into incarnateness...

Running TFs all the time is business as usual for me. I am perfectly fine, nay, even delighted that I get even more rewarded for doing so.

It would be better if they improved the quality of the other TFs to make them desirable. It's not like people will run STF any more next week than they did last week. At best, you're adding a third option to the mix, not opening up a wide world of new things to do.

A better choice would be looking at why LGTF and ITF get run so much more than the others and trying to replicate that formula for success in the currently existing crap TFs.

Unfortunately it's not the rare that you craft with 32 shards. You take 32 shards and 2 favors of the well to make the very rare piece.
