I got 2 more build slots, just wondering if anyone has any ideas for what I should do with them.
I'm enjoying my tank crab, but I also want something with some good DPS. Wondering about making a Huntsman with some bane powers or another crab who is more DPS oriented. -
Just stand near it and you will go into it.
It is the same room, just with Aurora in the middle and Mother Mayhems attacking her. -
Out of boredom, I made this theoretical spec. I'm never going to use it, but it was fun to make.
Trying to keep around 45% defence to all positional damage types.
Threw in a few purple sets for recharge.
Perma spiderlings. (Or I could have perma disrupter bots, which do you think is best?)
20 secs off perma hasten.
Dropped some dead weight in ranged defence.

TBH you guys are kinda lucky. The mechanics aren't so stupidly hard or time wasting that you can't win by pure DPS.
In Everquest 2, we are now 90 and I use to make money soloing old raids. These, at 80, use to take full 24 teams of good players and I ran around soloing them at 90 because of level/gear progression.
But even at 90 there are a few fights that aren't trivialized because of stupid mechanics. One is a dragon who, from 80 to 20%, at every 10% will become invincible to all damage. A member of the raid will get a buff. They have to run across a room filled with little wisps that knock you around to click on a statue. There is one for each AT, so you need at least 1 of every AT. The dragon is invincible until they are clicked, no buts.
That is an example of a stupid gimmick that you can't trivialize as you grow stronger. Sure the fight may be easy now, but one person goes AFK or LDs and the raid is basically doomed to keep slapping away until kingdom come.
But another mechanic which can be trivialized is the fight with a giant monster. Normally he blocks all damage from attacks less than level 87 and he was a level 80 raid mob.
The way to beat him was use an item which would teleport you inside him. Kill the monsters in his belly, loot them for an item, and keep doing that until you are spat out. You then had farm enough of these (about 50 to take him from full health to dead), go back inside him and use them.
Or...at 90, with some of the new AAs, debuff his protection and slap away at him. He dies without any need to go inside him now.
What you guys have, it seems to me, is mechanic B, with the exception of Penny. Nightstar/Siege/the escape have been trivialized because you have gotten a lot stronger. You are at +3 they are only 54, a 1 level difference. Lambada, sure the badges are a bit of a pain, but Maruader enraged ain't that hard, nor is getting the badges.
Basically, what I am saying is you guys have good mechanics at the moment and the devs are improving on them. They ain't doing some so unfair as to make it so only 1 person can let you keep damaging the mob. Even on Penny all you have to do is taunt the storm voids.
And eventually, this content will be trivialized as you grow more and more powerful. -
So...are my numbers like everyone elses numbers? Are they too small?
I've got a Electrical blast/pain dom corrupter. He is fun to play. I like him. Done some funky stuff with him for near perma WoP (Perma with incarnate powers), I can get some nice heals going and he is generally fun to play (if he moves like very slow snail).
Anyway, what kind of number should a corrupter like that be putting out? I've put my build below and I'm wondering if I'm doing anything wrong or any ways to improve damage over all.
Thanks

I dunno if this will work for you, but I made some changes to slotting to try and help. I'm no expert but I hope it helps.
The biggest help would be slotting for cardiac core, not spiritual. If things refresh faster, you are gonna be burning power a lot quicker, and you have a lot of toggles including the end hog of manuvers.
My advice is get the Cardiac, use Ageless to boost your regen/give you instant endurance and then change some of your slots. For example, you are over slotting on impervious skin, when by changing those slots to positron, you get the same recharge as well as increasing those powers damage and endurance.
If you want, I can link my crab. She is speced to tank, but with a few changes she could be perfect for you end wise. I rarely to never run out of end.

Some smaller iTrials would be nice if they were short and sweet and gave us some progression.
Maybe we have to go fight Shadowhunter to stop him calling the wild hunt. Or stop Black Swan from breaking open a portal from her dimension to our dimension to swamp us with her minions.
I agree that for the trial, it can't be too gimmicky, because when you have lots and lots of gimmicks you need lots to deal with them (like in TPN, you need people outside, inside and beating on Mael, basically 3 teams).
The sutter TF style gimmick, would be good (the exploding minions), or maybe something unique.
But the rewards would have to be less (3 astral merits a day, 1 emp merit every 2 days or something).
Another thing I would like to see is the ability to buy your judgement, interface, destiny, lore slots for alts. I love running iTrials, but going from doing them at +3 on 1 toon, to +0 on another isn't fun, I end up farming merits/threads on 1 toon to make another toon their alpha uncommon+notice of the well to make their +1 alpha.
And while iTrials are nice, it would be nice to see some other kind of level 50 trials/TFs going so more people can play them. -

Origin: Paragon City has always seemed to pride itself on innovation over safety. After all, they all know any accident will give someone super powers, so why bother putting up safety.
Get Away Girl was a student at Steel Canyon Uni, studying Chemistry and Physics. On a trip to a nearby facility, the scientists were combining two new materials. Repulsium and its exact opposite, Getawayium. Due to the two elements repulsive nature, they could only be contained by reducing their temperature to absolute zero. The resulting blast from combining them caught Get Away Girl full on, granting her control over cold and blasts of pure repulsive energy. Now she is Get Away Girl and GTFO!
So, I've made Get Away Girl. Her whole concept is I wanted to play a character with two powers that work agaisnt each other, in this case an Ice/Energy Dominator.
I've also self imposed some restrictions to make this more challenging. She is not allowed any IOs. She can't take a travel power till level 14.
Now, I started her off and ran her through the tutorial for a fast level. I chose Block of Ice, Frostbite and Power Bolt and so far, no trouble at all with her. The knockback in Power Bolt isn't noticeable, because I keep using my holds, but I think I'm going to have to do a lot of running back to keep mobs at arms length.
I can't wait till I get Arctic Air and Ice Slick, maybe then I'll start to see the lack of synergy.
If anyone has any comments, ideas or challenges, I am always happy to hear them. When it comes to playing though, I don't think I'm amazingly good and even my main and most loved toon, a 50+3 crab spider with a tanking softcapped build, I don't generally do above +0x1 cause I don't feel I am good enough, so suggestions for this would be nice if you want me to do a challenge like that. -
OK then. I've just created her on the Exalted server.
Her name is Get Away Girl, and she is an Ice/Energy Dominator. I'll start a new post with IC/OOC information. -
It isn't, I don't think. Is it there when you look at attributes
-
OK, I'm currently deciding between a Energy Blast / Devices Blaster and a Ice/Nrg Dom.
I'll do a topic, mix of IC and OOC, of the character and the play experiences. I will be using only SOs/HOs. She will not be getting any incarnate powers.
Before I begin, a few questions
How easy is it to perma dom with SOs/HOs
Should I allow temporary powers? -
WW in game. Last I checked, the proc had the same title, but if you examined them, one said -7.5% defence chance, the other terroize. I'll try and get a screeny later.
-
Reading the text of the 2 procs, there are 2 version. One for -7.5 defence, one for mag 2 terroize.
-
That was quick.
I was very meh as to the whole thing. It had a nice set up, but it was utterly let down by trying to do too many things at once. It felt overly long and in parts streched, with the 3 characters who managed to be rather intresting, vanish early on.
Also, those aren't christmas baubles. They are idiot balls and the kid carries one. -
Is it just me do the midnighters or magic have a hand in every zone that is co-op or soon to be.
Maybe I'm over focusing on it but.
Midnighters helped take down the Rikti ship (but then again so did everyone) and thus the Rikti war zone came to be.
The Midnighters made the Shadow Shard or at least made it how it is by seeing away Rully.
Cimeoria, The Midnighters own the portal to it or helped focus it or sumin.
The midnighters club is a co-op zone!
DA, magic killed everyone there and awoke Mot. -
Whenever I've done it, we sailed through it. Never had an issue. Maybe I was just in an awesome team though.
Whenever I've done STF, it has always ended up with multiple deaths on the bits leading up to it, us wiping at least twice on the patrons, and then a really really long fight vs Recluse.
So, to me, RSF is easier. I have never seemed to have a problem with it, all the stuff leading up to the freedom phalanx fight is pretty easy and getting Numina, Psyche, Positron whatever never seemed to be a problem. But, like I said, maybe I got lucky and I've only ever done them in awesome teams of +1 with the perfect set ups and incarnate powers up the wazzu. -
So, with Christmas and all the christmas money it brings in, I'm deciding to get some new art of my characters both in City of Heroes and out and I was wondering if anyone could suggest me some good artists to commision, and I'll suggest some.
1) http://dfreak235.deviantart.com/ She is a friend of mine and a good artist for some of your odder characters. Multiple arms, aliens etc, her specialty and she does them for very reasonable prices.
2) http://www.ahiddenlittledoor.com/comix.html Another great artist. Check out some of his comics. He can also do canvas pictures for you.
3) http://roonstown.deviantart.com/ Another artist with reasonable prices I like. He also does jewellery I think
4) http://lotusleif.deviantart.com/ She does plushies and they are so cute >w< She also does art trades
5) http://enigmaticthief.deviantart.com/ He drew one of the first pictures of my OC for me and defined her with her awesome hair, so maybe I am biased, but I love this guy. Gonna be commissioning him on her creation brithday :P Also a good artist of reasonable prices
6) http://daitou.deviantart.com/ Another friend of mine, and I list him here because people were posting about having a kirby dots aura. He does kirby dots for energy and I think it looks great. He also is a reasonable commission and a great guy for sci-fi or fantasy commissions because he can help and advice you on things like weapons and making them look realistic.
So besides all these awesome people who I have commissioned, anyone know of anyone good who is taking commissions, in the 5-15 pound range? -
So, I love the idea of ATIOs and have come up with a few ideas for them or more the procs :P They are more fun to come up with. Maybe link each ATIO in with the lore.
Also, how about epic IOs that only go in the epic IO slot and provide bonuses to them. Here are some ideas.
1) Command of Lord Recluse - Adds a proc to summon a pet on the attack it is slotted to. The pet basically works like a DoT, but is just thematic.
2) Statesman's Resolve - Proc that goes in a resistance slot that every 120 seconds, will go off once, granting a 5 second immunity to mez effects.
3) Back Alley Battles - Defence debuff proc on an attack for brutes
Epic IOs:
Cold Hearted - Goes in any defensive cold power and adds a resistance to cold and fire damage increase
Weapons Expert - Adds a recharge bonus proc to any weapons power
So what do you think? Just a rough idea. -
So it looks to be a terrorize mag 2 and toxic damage proc. What do you guys think of this and what would you change it to?
I dunno how often a mag 2 would provide any use, but the toxic damage is OK. The other option, as I remember is an extra 7.5% debuff, which I prefer. Stick it on your fastest attack. On a crab, that is 15% defence debuff a hit, no need for combat training offensive then.
Personally I would like to see more of these. Maybe one for pets that adds an extra attack to their chain or debuffs to their attacks, as pets seem to be a big part of the AT. Maybe also theme them around the patrons? I know we have things like Ghost Widows Embrace, but maybe Black Scorpions blow which has a proc for knock down and smashing damage, or Lord Recluse's Command, which has a proc for summoning a single pet at a low chance (so at max you can have 3 pets from this and they die pretty quickly, basically just a thematic dot :P ) -
Couple of ideas:
Collapsing to hands and knees, complete with panting. You've been beaten to your knees, but you refuse to give up (Willpower).
Falling apart.
Disintegrating into a pile of ash
Floating in the air, struggling like some types of hostages
A little tomb stone
Turned to stone
Hands come up from the ground and pull you under, leaving a mound of earth.
Also, how would an AoE taunt on death work. You are dead, surely no agro? -
I actually found it the other way around.
RSF, I can speed run, takes us no time at all and the end fight is generally pretty easy. STF, on the last bit due to the towers, fliers etc. -
OK, I got a few ideas.
If I was to post up my experiences in a topic, would anyone be interested?
