Quote:That first part doesn't come close to answering the question. Male Widows ARE of the same AT as Female Widows. Which makes the second part seem like a complete non-sequitor.As to why not? Pretty much the same reason no other avatar has them yet: it's been kept exclusive to one AT.
That doesn't mean other AT's won't get Tail Coats or Waist Cape's in the future, but it's quite likely the Widow Waist-Cape will remain exclusive to female Widows. -
No, I don't think that this pracitice of linking in one place to something posted in another for the sheer point of basically advertising is in keeping with the spirit of the forum rules.

Wow. Talk about a giant... ummm, I would say "waste of Influence," but it's not like any of that was unintentional. Now I don't know what to call it.
Also, was there any kinda point to that? It's not like you can really take that "money" out of circulation. It doesn't actually circulate in any traditional sense anyway. I mean, new "money" is minted constantly. -

Not sure, what impact GR will have. One thing that seems to be a certainty is that more people will start playing ATs they hadn't before... either because they dislike one side or the other, or just because they can now make pretty much any AT whatever they like. So, with luck, that will mean a lot more Dominators around. -

When is a character of mine done?
I don't know that any of mine are really "done." My PB has been on a semi-permanent hiatus since reaching 50.. same goes for my Fire/Kin Troller. Most of my characters go on pause whenever I start a new one up... so that happens a lot. But, I will usually get back to them. A ton of my characters got new life during the free transfer period because I was able to move them around and rename them for free. Those names helped a bunch of them, especially my Elec/Nin Stalker who is now Biospark.
One of my oldest villains, an MM, just hit 41. So... even he is still on his way to 50 and "semi-permanent hiatus." A new set of costumes a few months ago really helped him out.
But, the long and short of it is that my characters aren't "done" per se, and those that are, get deleted. But, as one of the above posters said, even that hasn't stopped a few of them. I have resurrected a couple characters and either recreated them as they were (maybe with a new name and/or look) or as a different AT... but to me, it's the same character. -
Also, I don't see this being a problem to program. Possible display fonts would simply be listed in a drop-down menu on the last page of character creation. Each font could then append a tag (like [TNR] for Times New Roman) to the end of a character's name. It would be invisible for everything except for things like invites, and tells. Would it be kinda hideous? Well... it wouldn't be as bad as appending the global name to everyone's character name.
But, it would yield lovely things like: /invite Awesome Man[TRN], /invite Awesome Man[BOA], etc. And then you have Awesome Man[COM] being mad because you accidentally invited the wrong Awesome Man.
All and all, I still say stick with the thesaurus and just come up with better names.
Quote:...Maybe because punctuation used in that way looks completely stupid? If "Awesome Man" is taken, why not just use "Awesome-Man", "Awesome Man.", "Awesome Man'", or any other permutation of that?
If your character is such a super special unique snowflake that you can't stand to have horrible, evil punctuation afflicting your name, just think up of a new name.
I will go with that latter choice (without the acid and bile though that seems to come part and parcel with everything you say).
This idea won't fix that. The kind of impatient uncreative person that does that is not going to care what the name looks like, and prolly won't bother with this new system. Or, worse, we will end up with 4wesom3 Mann- AND 4wesom3 Mann-. -
Not a bad idea... but a rather unnecessary one IMO. There are so many ways now to reduce the cost of a Tailor session (and money is rather plentiful.. esp. now that it is e-mailable) that this, to me, would serve little purpose. Though, if this were to roll out tomorrow on live, I wouldn't put up a fuss.

Is that related to the Agent G in Faultline, do you suppose?

If I had to guess (and I don't)... I would say that it leaked onto live by accident and likely will either be an unlockable (with a Defeat X Syndicate badge) or be removed due to it being an NPC-only piece. AKA, don't get too attached to that desing.

Quote:Yes... those are the theme songs. There are certain pieces of music that are just as iconic within our community. The AP theme, the hero mission complete music, and the villain mission complete music.Themesongs only work when they become engrained from hearing over and again. Play the original Zelda themesong and a vast number of people will know exactly which song it is. Mario themesong? It's engrained from hours of play under the same song, not by fleeting glimpses. This game needs music, and it needs it where we can hear it.
I bet if you play a random bit of music from those other games that is NOT the theme, people may very well NOT be able to tell you anything about the song (some probably could... but most folks won't).
P.S. They are missions... not quests. -

That would be the exact reason I only mentioned their Primal Earth connection, actually.

Quote:And here I thought the point of Merits was to re-balance the system so that you weren't guaranteed a recipe regardless of the difficulty and length of a TF. Sounds to me, like the ITF needs to have it's average completion time recalculated...I really, really dislike the fact that you can plug a few hours into a TF and not get a recipe roll out of it. I got 11 merits, which will get me a cup of coffee if I pitch in three bucks of my own. And this is where someone chimes in with "well, you should have run the Imperious Task Force"...but I thought the idea behind merits was to make *all* the TFs 'worth' running instead of everyone just hammering the same one over and over because it was efficient.
