Following on from him being erased from history and Stateman stealing his quiver, Manticore is back and he's brought Sister Psyche with him:
-
It's based on level rather than con and the incarnate "levels" don't count as levels for that purpose. i.e. My 50+3 Warshade has had shard drops off Lv50 mobs.
-
Depending on the AT, powersets & temps that ranges from trivial to impossible; my Warshade destroyed him before he had his 2nd clone out, whereas my Kin/Elec defender was thwarted by the fact that he doesn't need endurance to spawn clones
-
Because it's not an earnable in-game currency so there's no point, you either have to pay real money for it or get freebies from your subscription. You might as well just knock 25% off the subscription price to account for the VIP players using their 400 points/month to offset their subs.

Quote:Historically there wouldn't be a need, but these days with potential 48 player leagues (and more commonly 24 player leagues) it's something that could come into play.Just out of curiosity, since I've never really looked into this, but do enemy attacks even have a target cap? I know that player attacks do, but I wouldn't think there would have been a reason for the Devs to code enemy attacks that way.
No idea what the answer is, but City of Data might know. -
Quote:Draw speed isn't an issue for the majority of current PCs (assuming appropriate graphical detail settings), it's purely a server/client sync issue and that's partially down to the server-side netcode and partially down to client connection speed and latency.Maybe in a few years when computer and broad band speeds are all 10x faster.
Until then, you have to deal with your computer's lag trying to draw that rapidly changing 3D environment, and in computer/server lag as they haggle with each other trying to figure out where you really are.
Both are bumping into mechanical limitations.
It's certainly do-able given the right circumstances, but I have no idea about the specific limitations of the CoX backend. -
The cheap PSU is the cause of many a non-specific PC issue; especially if you've just bought a new graphics card as those things can be insanely power-hungry.
-
Eleventy Seven and counting; personally I'd prioritise cutscene VO, that way you're not having to worry about the disconnect between people with VO and people without it as you move through the game.
-
The images are pretty much just DDS .texture files with a custom file header IIUC; there are free tools from nvidia (amongst others) that will allow you to open/save the format.
-
This is mine currently; no promises that it's any good and it's not *cheap* but it's not hugely expensive either (no Purples) and there's plenty of leeway to switch to cheaper sets in a couple of places if you wanted to (I don't actually need Weave to hit the softcap but the LoTG set bonuses & +Rechg were handy & I didn't have anything else I wanted to take in its place).

Quote:The downloaded client always contains all available content, your account determines which parts of that content you can access. As GG said, to get access to everything currently, you'd need to purchase Going Rogue but if you search around you should be able to get it for near or below the price of a month's subscription and it comes with a free monthSo, here's an odd question.
I'm downloading the COH client as I write this as it seemed easier than reinstalling my massive stack of disks from back in the day but, I'm curious, what exactly is included with that download? Just COH? COH and COV? Going Rogue?
I already own COH and COV but I stopped playing before GR. What do I need to purchase, if anything, to get the FULL City of Heroes experience? Thanks -
It certainly did work with -project coh -launcher, though that was prior to i20.5 and I haven't tried it since, at one point you had to specify the authserver as well.

Eden, especially the first time I ran it, feels epic.
It's this immense cave system swarming with mobs, guarded by Giant Monsters and that awesome final room with the Crystal Titan on his pedastal. Nothing else in the game really has that sense of scale; sure the Shadow Shard is big, but it's "outdoors" and mostly empty, whereas Eden feels big. -
Once you've completed the Incarnate arc in Ouroboros (or unlocked the Alpha slot by running iTrials) then any even level or above mobs have a chance to drop incarnate shards; these are the building blocks of your first incarnate powers.
Shards are turned into components (components can also be acquired by completing TFs and the WST gives a Notice of the Well component on top of that). and components are turned into Tier 1 Alpha powers.
T1 Alpha powers + components are turned into T2 Alpha powers.
T2 Alpha powers + components are turned into T3 Alpha powers.
2 * T3 Alpha powers + components are turned into T4 Alpha powers. -
Quote:Sometime between issue 12 and issue 19 while I was gone. They were changed from doing Untyped damage, which was un-resistable and would kill a human-form Kheld in 2-3 hits, with a stun component to doing Negative Energy damage, which is highly resisted by most Kheldian builds. There was a nerf to Voids? How long ago was this and what was done to them?
So basically, unless you're caught unawares in Nova and forget how to change forms, Voids/Quantums are no longer any more of a threat than any other mob - in fact in later levels they're actually *less* of a threat than most of the other mobs due to their limited attacks. -
Well I wouldn't say that I *know* anyone who's attending, but I'm assuming that everyone is fairly normal and unlikely to cause me any serious harm. Plus I only live down the road so it'd be rude not to pop in and say hello.
-
Quote:Was this pre-Void nerf? I'm not sure I could really make any kind of decent assessment about a character's playability by Lv5; I always run into the teens before making a decision as to whether or not to stick with something. When I first unlocked the Kheldians, I made one of each, to see which one I liked better. (Both of them wearing very magicky outfits - my PB with the high-collared magic cape, the WS with the skull mask and baron jacket)
I had a terrible time with my Warshade. I died a half-dozen times on the first mission arc, against regular troops and Void Hunters. I never managed to complete it beforeI got completely fed up. My Peacebringer had no such problems. She tore through enemies like crazy, even the Void Hunters.
Aside from that, I like flying and hovering much better than teleporting, so the Peacebringer had that going for her, too.
I don't play her much, so the Peacebringer is still only in the high teens, but the Warshade was deleted long before he even hit level 5. He never even got to the point of learning Orbiting Death (and I don't think it would have helped me more than Essence Boost, since I was trying to stay at range with both classes).
Did I do something wrong? Possibly. At that level, the two classes are more similar than not, so it should have been equally easy with both of them. Do I want to remake him and try again? ... not really. The Warshade may have the numbers, but I just like the Peacebringer more. -
Spad Ice/Fire Tank (+3) A-3 J-3 I-3 D-3 L-3
Negative Energy Warshade (+3) A-4 J-4 I-3 D-3 L-3
Gentleman Thief Mind/Psi Dom (+1) A-3
Lingering Flame Fire/Rad Controller (+1) A-3
All other 50s are Alpha Unlocked. -

Stupid question, but have you tried doing without SuperAntiSpyware and/or AVG to see if it helps? It's possible that one or both of them have poorly written IDS components that are causing the Launcher connection issues (Almost all IDS' are poorly written, consumer-grade doubly so).
-
Quote:That and the fact that Essence Drain is in dire need of a buff to make it useful as an attack *or* a heal.Edit: Talk about heals? Warshades get Stygian Circle, the most effective self heal I've ever seen. It's so effective that it becomes inadvisable to take our targeted heal (which we also get) because we don't need it.
I think the truth of the matter is the Kheldians are, on average, more difficult to play well than any other AT, due in no small part to their versatility (and thus complexity). As a consequence, a larger proportion of Kheldians than other ATs are going to be "bad"; it's much easier to be a bad Warshade than a bad tank because if you screw up your tank build and don't really know what you're doing then you're still a huge sack of HP with half-decent def/resistances and Gauntlet, whereas if you screw up a Warshade and don't know what you're doing then you spend 95% of your time lying face-down on the floor. -
Maybe your flashback was just a drug-induced hallucination and never really happened
-
Warshades have one driving purpose and that is to create more bodies. Bodies give you health, bodies give you endurance, bodies give you pets and bodies give you crashless mini-nukes.
Second only to creating more bodies is finding more live mobs, live mobs give you resistance, live mobs give you endurance, live mobs give you damage, live mobs give you tohit and, most importantly of all, live mobs give you more bodies.
A well built Warshade on a map swarming with mobs is probably the most fun you can have in this game. -
