So tell me how is it fair that someone who spent their own money on a service gets that service taken from them just because they aren't paying the 16$ a month. This is clearly just a way to get more money, someone who paid for a service shouldn't be denied .Premium players might as well start a new account, they really aren't gaining much of anything by coming back...
Riiiiiight. So the MMO you previously subscribed to is now allowing you to come back and continue playing *without* having to pay anything and you're ******** that they're not giving you all the stuff you used to have when you *were* paying them?

    People truly astonish me sometimes.

My setting in game for XP while exemplared is double influence, no XP. So turning off XP is not the same as teaming with someone else who is lower than you?
Pre-Supersidekicking you used to earn double Inf when Exemplared, can't comment on how it should be now.
  3. The first token you spend in a given tier elevates you to that tier for the purposes of unlocking features (subject to any known issues, which I don't think there are any of at the moment).

Correct, they're only available "for free" if you're a VIP player.

Some useful info here: http://na.cityofheroes.com/en/news/f...player_cho.php on the "Side-By-Side Comparison" tab.

First question: The Paragon Market lists Going Rogue (Praetoria) and the Alignment System as separate items. I told them that this was just a marketing thing--multiple labels for the same product. That outside of the First Ward content (which was available for separate purchase), buying Going Rogue was the same as buying the Alignment System was the same as buying Praetoria.

    Correct, or incorrect? Thanks!
I can only see 3 "Going Rogue" related items on the store; The Alignment System, Preatoria Access and the Shadowy Presence power.

I seem to remember that one of the updates they're working on at the moment is to remove purchased content from the storefront entirely so as to be less confusing.

And the speed of light barrier isn't really so much a barrier as just a practicality issue.

If you had enough energy to boost a particle to light speed it just takes ever more energy to keep it at light speed because the mass of the particle increases and as mass increases you need more energy thus a bigger fuel tank... hypothetically all you needs is a disconnected fuel source and a way to keep ahead of the curve to move faster than light.

That is if that limit is just because of the practicality issue. I've never heard it brought up as to why the light speed barrier does what it does... I have a hypothesis about that though. Imagine space time a lattice of points in time space... each point can only hold so much energy...or rather that energy stretches the lattice causing the space-time points to be spread further apart thus time move slowly in those area where all that energy is... If there is a maximum to how much that lattice can stretch then the result would be the inverse of Energy and that would be Mass... Basically Mass is the result of energy rebounding off the lattice of time space... Now there may be a limit to how fast it can rebound thus it begs the question of if you apply energy faster than the lattice can handle what happens? Seems the lattice would break to some degree or perhaps there is no limit and applying more energy just results in higher speeds/mass... if the lattice breaks I would think something like a black hole happens.
It's not quite that simple. As you said, as speed increases so does the mass of the object, however, as you approach c the mass of the object tends towards infinity (well technically it's the Lorentz factor but it's simpler to think of it this way) thus requiring an infinite amount of energy in order to accelerate it further.

The speed of light very much is a hard limit as far as our current interpretation of physics is concerned and if it emerges that it *isn't* a hard limit then we would have to fundamentally rethink vast sections of our scientific understanding.

Thing is, this isn't making stuff travel effectively faster than c, this is measuring something travelling faster than c which shouldn't be. Not by much, I grant you, but *anything* going faster than light (in a given medium, without "cheating") is a major change to our understanding of physics as a whole.

I feel I should point out that the Great Wall of China isn't visible from space (with the naked eye, obviously you can see pretty much anything with sufficient magnification).

I originally started playing CoH after Issue #1 had already been out a while and Issue #2 was just being released. I never knew the game when 40 was the level cap. What are Titan-Os?
Titan-Os are the enhancements you get dropped from defeating the Crystal Titan in the Eden Trial.

They were superseded by Hami-Os (from defeating Hamidon) which rather fell out of favour when the Invention system came in until the ability to gain them from completing the Statesman/Lord Recluse Task Forces bought them back into play again as they have some "creative" uses due to their multi-attribute enhancing.

Which is why the old Galaxy City is accessible via Ouroboros...
  14. It's using some kind of Referrer-based access control. If I refresh this thread after disabling Referrer sending in my browser then it won't show up.

As to why you're only sometimes not seeing it, could be any number of reasons depending on how the ACL has been set up.
  15. IANAL, but probably not as you're not buying or selling ingame stuff (per se).

    A question...

At a rough guess, based on what you were doing, I'd say that it's something related to their IP-based security on Master Accounts that is verifying that you're not spoofing your IP address or connecting through a known Proxy service.

Slashdot does something similar when you post anonymously to make sure you're not posting via an open proxy.
  17. Thinking about it, Chuck did a pretty good job of handling it, but I think that was mostly because the setting allowed for every man and their dog to throw spanners in the works of their relationship even after they got married, which helped keep it interesting.
  18. If you still have said bind, you can save your binds to a file and then take a look at it to see how the bind was constructed.

We ran a Dr Q TF at the EU player meet a couple of week ago; it took us ~5.5 hours and that was with guides, temps and vet powers (obviously being a Lv44 cap you can't use incarnate stuff anyway).

The first time I ran it (way back in i3 or i4) it took me over 8.5 hours to complete - and that was back when if one of your team was Sidekicked or Exemplared and they crashed, they couldn't rejoin the TF, there was no Pocket D, no Ouroboros, no Temp travel powers, not even IOs.

I'd still recommend doing it once, but probably only once

Anyway, welcome to the game Rapthorne, it's always nice to see new players' views on the game as, after playing for 7 years it can be rather difficult to put yourself in their shoes.
  20. Why quote Wikipedia, when you can quote the authority on such things?
    http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Shipping
    Quote:
The term "Shipping"- which ostensibly derives from "Relationship" (though it might as well be "Worship")- was originally coined by fans of The X-Files, who were divided between "relationshippers" pushing for romance and "noromos" who would rather have No Hugging and No Kissing. The phenomenon itself, however, was ubiquitous in practically every fandom long before. The source of the term's popularity is shrouded in myth, but Geek Mythology has it that you can blame people in the Pokémon anime's fandom who root for Jessie and James (of Team Rocket) to get together and decided to call themselves "Rocketshippers". This got the term to catch on in that fandom, then people brought it with them to other fandoms and this is why as of today The Other Wiki needs a tiny disambiguation note at the top of its article on maritime delivery of goods. Much to its chagrin.

Don't even bother. I've being seeing this all week in the global channels, it's like the ******* Respec Glowies all over again; "I did X and it triggered MARTy", "I did Y and it didn't trigger MARTy", "If you trigger MARTy you can't get XP for 24 hours" and so on.

I've had to start ignoring people because it winds me up no end listening to their uninformed ******** about how their farming has definitely been stopped by MARTy and it's all a conspiracy by the devs to force them out of the game.

Tough is T2. I don't know why everyone seems to think it's T3. Weave is T3.

Historically, the first two powers in a pool are T1, the 3rd is T2 (and requires one or both T1 to unlock) and the 4th is T3 (which requires two of the previous powers to unlock). A lot of pools now have 5th powers, which are also T3.

The changes to the Travel power pools mean that you can now take the T2 powers without having a T1, but the non-travel powers are, AFAIK, unaffected by this.

Edit: The fact that the patch notes keep using "Tier" in the wrong context isn't helpful in the slightest.
