1) Changes how the minions work, so no.
2) IIRC someone said they are going to get a revamp for their upgraded look...I think -shrug-
3) I doubt it. Spec ops goggles look fine. Again, they wont mess with gfx/powers unless they really HAVE to.
And, the opnion bit. I think the combat aura would look horrible on the Spec Ops.

As for concept reasons, well adapt your concept or get grinding
[/ QUOTE ]
Indeed, I just find annoying Positron saying grind is being reduced to find out later that it's not true, in fact the opposite
[/ QUOTE ]
It does feel like a huge letdown, even before testing (which, yes, might prove all of us wrong). If it was meant to make builds a bit less impossible, then does the opposite...well.

Well, thats jsut fething idiotic, in my opinion... Rare is one thing, ludicrous is just too far.
And the idea above of soloing for gain, teaming for fun..well, yes, teams should be fun, but that seems far too skewed, and a bit unfair in places. What about ATs that struggle to solo? Did they 'make a wrong choice', if they can't solo? That then is surely dictating how people will have to play, if they want to get anywhere the rarer stuff.

Surely, thematically, knockback is appropriate for Handclap, knockdown is appropriate for Fault. You might want them to be different, but that's the thematic idea of the power.
I'd like all knowckback chances removed from melee attacks, but I don't suppose I'll get it.

Last part /unsigned majorly. If my PB couldnt sling someone across the room, and one of my blasters couldnt kick someone out of reach...well, thats just a few of them. Blaster EMs Power Thrust would be utterly borked too. -
Id just be happier if they increased the bloomin' 'hover' time. Theres nothing in it, trying to TP around and more often than not you'll fall too far for comfort, and sometimes too far full stop (owch...)
And thats WITHOUT lag, for pete sake -

The thing for me is that I don't know what the devs are exactly trying to achieve by the merit system overall. Positron's initial announcement mentioned something along the lines of avoiding to grind a huge number of TF's to get a recipe. The way this is going to be implemented, that statement has gone the opposite extreme, you need to do quite a few more TF's to get the desired recipe (or fewer TF's but same amount of hours, time is what I count here since I don't mind doing as many TF's as possible, but I don't have all the time I'd like to have to do so).
If they wanted to encourage players to do other things than radio missions, Story Arc Merits just for Story Arc owner are not the best solution. If they wanted some kind of help to casual players who can't dedicate two hours for a TF (not that I'd pay monthly for a game if I can't sit at it two hours at least once or twice a week), they have failed miserably since such players who have, let's say 1 hour tops, they could get a rare recipe via Katie Hannon / Hess / Moonfire and now they won't be able to. I also suspect a casual player who can't dedicate time enough to do a TF won't probably be much fussed about the invention system overall.
[/ QUOTE ]
^ This. This is what has been bugging me and yet I haven't been abel to put onto paper (thanks for the words, or close as)
They were supposed to make it easier to get Special recipes. Yes, they are meant to be rarer than most, but that SHOULDNT mean having to spend a stupidly long time simply grinding jsut to get one part of a set that you want. And then you need to do it again.
I dont agree with the opinion on casual players. Compared to some, im a fairly casual player. And I would LIKE to be able to put together the builds that I work out on Mids. Hells, id like to just be able to afford the Impervious KB resistance IO for my two Spiders, jsut to stop them getting dumped on the floor over and over.
But I cant afford those prices. Now, afaik, the Merits were supposed to make things fairer and a bit less 'elite gamers only', (thats what it seems like). Yes, I havent seen how they work yet, and I wont until the finalised Issue goes live. But Im just hoping that it does work out better, as was promised. Otherwise it will be a bit of a black mark on what looks like quite a nice Issue. -

I know many people wont mind, but I suspect some will.
Perviously the relatively small xp bonus and an SO would be nothing to shout about.
However, 5 merits would count towards (say) 2.5% of a Miracle +Recovery Recipe. They go for about 50 million at bare minimum. 5 merits is thus around 1.25 million influence. Thats an awful lot more than the aproximate bonus of around 100k tops you get at the moment. And thats just considering level 50.
To my mind a reasonable solution would be 1 merit to every team member completing the last mission of the arc.
Ouroborous missions, keep the same system.
[/ QUOTE ]
^ This
Not getting an SO reward is no huge deal, seeing as you afford them in forkfulls by the time you hit fifty.
Saying this system is complimentary to the AH/BM only really works if this deals a KO to the stupidly high prices on Procs and globals. 11 mil, 20mil, 50mil...those just aren't options for a lot of people, and I just hope that the Merit system somehow helps that, and doesnt just make it a whole lot worse... -
I haven't been on Test at all, due to my laptop throwing a hissy fit when it goes near it.
But ONLY giving the merits to the team leader? Thats just wrong. I don't see anyone being unhappy with being able to save for rare things like procs, LotG and suchlike, far from it. I know that I would like a chance at getting some decent rewards, rather than a bloomin Essence of Furies worth 600k and a mailaise uselessness from the ITF we did last night. The only good thing I did get was a lvl and a half, but I woulda *liked* to get a rare recipe that was useful/worth something.
/Signed to all on the team getting at least some Merits -

ok... [censored]... I have been editing my pages and those concerned to me only...
Often doing it from work where I am not sure how long I can be on.. so I save after each change... And I am rather precice... occasionally going over them with a spelling checker.
I can see that I am now the scapegoat of this wiki...
I am now being banned for editing my own pages. I think that is going a bit too far don't you think?!

Fat chance... To get THEIR super hero movies done right, Marvel ended up having to open their own movie studio so they could do it right and ignore the idiot other studios who want to make it "realistic". Look at the difference with Incredible Hulk and Iron Man over earlier hero movies... Ok, Spider-Man 1 & 2 were done well, and X-Men 1 wasn't too bad, but the rest? Ewwww... Imagine what FF4 could have been if Marvel made it themselves...

Maybe they could wind out a deal that cut out the thing Matvel did which meant we cant get out of game costume creators if Marvel Studios make the Movie?heh

My offer ah la the Krimzon Guard still stands, seeing as we're now actually active =]
Having a charachter that depends solely on one other character is always tough. My blaster Wolf (not full name) is an example of how it can work. He RPs at his best when his brother Fox (not full name, played by another) is online, but he can still RP well on his own.
Pairings can work, but ones that rely too heavily on one other person being on do become a straightjacket. -

As to a movie 10 months in development isn't all that long plenty of superhero films have been in development he'll for ages and then came into the light

I'd be very surprised... Astonished even! If a City Of heroes film ever went to the big screen.
My head is telling me this is just a standby property in someones greedy little portfolio in this these SuperHero-crazy times, ...even if my heart wishes something else.
Actually I'll redefine that last bit; I wouldn't want to see a live action City of Heroes film. I believe the subject matter would be immensely better served as an Animated series whether it be traditional animation or CGI a'la Final Fantasy:Spirits within.
An animated series with links (to and from) the MMO would be much better in my opinion, cheaper, more flexible (as far as portraying incredible scenarios) and allow for things like player-content/characters to have cameos via competitions.
[/ QUOTE ]
Aye, a fully CGI movie, if they got a decent plot to it, could be quite epic, I think.
OR, if they could do it to the level and quality that Iron Man was done, that would be pretty neat.
But yes, wait to see what Time tells =P -

if it's that, i'll say a big NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
it's a hero game, not a sissy fighting movie....
[/ QUOTE ]
Woah, you are missing out on a lot of great movies.
That movie was deep, deep, deep; it was simply amazing. One of the most engrossing films for decades. It is not sissy. It really boils the blood of both you and the actors.
The point has been made over and over sorudo, this isn't the Street Fighter set you were looking for. Brilliant game, but unfortunately, we want da American style of street fighting, where blood is spilled and bones are broken. I imagine only a small percent of the population will want the Japanese style of street fighting, with ki and chi and whatever.
Also, technically ki and chi are energy, which already exists in the game. Go figure.
[/ QUOTE ]
then i have news for yah, there are A LOT more ppl hoping for the typical japanese street fighter styles then the bold, useless american style.
btw, that's not fighting, that's just the same as what american football is, just aimlessly hitting to hope if it hurts or not.
if you call that fighting, then you know nothing about fighting.
and before i get that backslash about "and you're suppose to know", yes i do.
i have created my own martial art style, before that i trained jujitsu to train the basics.
and currently, i created a style for both defense and killer offense.
if there is anything, even the slightest thing that i know, then it's the difference between fighting and aimless hitting.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well there's already a martial arts set for you to use then.
However, the majority of players have asked for "street fighting". That being down and dirty free for all type fighting.
As for being martial arts trained/creating your own martial art, neither makes street fighting any less formidable. In fact in most real life fights, you simply don't have time for fancy footwork as most fights end up with someone being kicked in the head while they're on the floor.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wait....hitting people as hard as you can ISN'T fighting?...
Thats some wierd as plannet you come from XD
Martial arts set is all well and good, but its ALL kicks.
Street Fighting, as in, 'Headbutt', 'Suckerpunch' and 'Flail' style stuff, would be really nice.

The thing is, adding massive -tohit powers (or any other of the kind) doesn't make the game any harder at all. It just makes these certain enemies much more annoying and people want to avoid them because of that and bang, the game hasnt become any "harder" because players wont fight these "harder" enemies.
The point is, extreme debuffs just make things annoying and not hard, especially when -tohit resistance is quite rare. Right now I cant think of any other sources except FA (on heroes) and I wouldnt pick that just to get -tohit resistance for the few annoying enemies I might face. It's things like sappers that make the game a bit more challenging, they force you to check the mob for sappers instead of just steamrolling it. This isnt so true for the ghosts, all of them have chill of the night so unless you have a nuke pre lvl 32 you wont be taking them all out before they debuff your accuracy to hell.
[/ QUOTE ]
Aye, this is more what I meant. Make it so you have to think, look and all that, not just 'I is super, lolz' and steamroller everything.
But not to the extent of the CoT ghosts. For something that cons as an LT, the Demon Lords are touhger than some of the bosses for pity sake. Any mission where they are conning as orange or above becomes a major drag if you're not on a half decent team with at least four people on it...and even then, you jsut get more Lts. We had one mission that was SOLELY populated by CoT Ghosts. No joke, and it wasnt. We had to rope in a lot of extra help to get that done...

Yeah, I hate the fact the NPCs seem to espace every nerf that gets slammed on us. I was looking forward to getting MoG on my DB/Regen scrapper, now hes shelved because, 1) Regen, to me, is hard at lower lvls, 2) MoG is now pants....utterly pants...UNLESS you sign up to be owned in every way by Crey.
Come on, people, get this together, please? Im not saying make the game easy, but it should at least be balanced. Theres no point being 'super' if any LT over yellow is able to hand you your spandex/armour clad rear end on a shiny platter...
