Quote:i still like the merit behind this idea.i like the way this idea is going. it is something that would require probably the least amount of work to implement. there would be no need for new buildings or anything. put up a couple of the generic contacts from the AE and have a table next to each that brings up a list of heroes/villians and as you choose which to view the contact changes to that hero/villian.
figure 250 mil to put up your hero/villian. and for each additional costume another 75 mil. when a person looks at your hero/villian it shows one of your costumes at random or maybe even the current costume your are using. -

Would like to see happen.
If not outside, I wonder if something like a hall of heroes (or villain equivalent) could be set up inside AP City Hall or GV building. This hall would be like the contacts in the AE buildings. From what I can tell there, when I pick an arc, the contact appears to me and the team members, but not to other players, who are running their arcs and seeing their contacts.
I wonder if statues could be like that in that there would be a group of them - yours you paid for, and then fillers either as random or other peoples. So this way you can see your statue, and others will see yours at some point as the fillers.
(no computer experience so just tossing out some thoughts)

Quote:GM's scale to lv. that is the way they work. and if you feel you aren't beating on enough of them, get a team together and go GM hunting.Look, I don't really have that many ideas in particular for giant monsters (save for some kinda godzilla monster), but I just want more of them. I have 3 level 20-30 characters, and haven't really been doing many giant monster fights, which I kinda want more of. So quite simply, I want more. Also, I think there should be at least one level 1-5 giant monster, which will randomly spawn it atlas park pr galaxy city very rarely.

how about no. if you want to move faster, use sprint or swift. walk is the speed it is for a reason. this isn't City of Mall Walkers.

it also makes a huge difference how your base design is laid out and how many items are in it.

hmm... let me think about this and i'll get back to you. you may have something there with the contact/sidekicking thing...not sure about the salvage thing though.

i thought 33 was the magic number? that way you have your t9 from your primary and a couple of slots for it.

i think there is a discussion about posting builds from mids to these forums in the player questions section. it said something about using the php forum export option.

he's mad because no one will agree with him on his aweful ideas.

Quote:for PvP CJ should only be used as a work horse. holding 1 karma: kb io, 1 LoTG: increased recharge and 1 blessing: kb io. it does not save you in PvP as defense means nothing anymore. plus it only gives up to 3% def i think.Yeah i wasn't able to fit weave in there. I pretty much used all my power spots. So that's really my only source of defense. It annoys me that super jump turns it off though. I sorta need super jump when I'm I pvp. Just wasn't sure.. I've never slotted it before

trademark, yes. copywrite, no. if it was true that you could copywrite a name, anyone would have free reign to file lawsuits against anyone or anything that had the name. in order for a trademark violation to go through court it has to be the same exact thing as the original, i.e.: same name, costume, powers...
as it stands, the GM's will generic any name or costume to save anything from happening. even the littlest thing. -
Quote:the devs have been very adament about this. that is why we can have 36 toons per server. i don't care about concept. what you want is to be able to switch AT's without having to roll a new toon which will never happen. as far as the name, either roll on another server or pick a name that can be used in all of your names. The sole reason I like the two build idea is for concept characters. For instance like Batman. He is normally the Dark Knight but there have been a couple times he has used power armor. Or Iron man. Yes his basic suit concept has always been the same but over the course of his existence he has built suits so radically different that they could only be conceived in CoH as different power sets.
Giant man/Ant man
That sort of thing. The only difference between my version and rolling alts is that you can keep the same name. -

i went to cohtitan to update my mids. not from the updater that pops up on mids. i started the install and then get an error saying something about not being able to open a file that ends in .exe. and i am running vista and can not get the option to run the updater in admin.

Quote:won't work with the current game engine. SCR applies.I was thinking about popular superheroes who's power sets don't appear in this game. They would mostly be made of moderately ranged entangles that deal damage over time. Other than that, I have no real ideas, so let's see the massive shitstorm of discussions that takes place while people try to turn this one thought by some random member into a fully functioning, fun to use controller powerset.

Quote:i don't think it has anything to do with rewards themselves so much as it has to do with the actual fact that the devs have stated themselves that having things unlock at 50 was stupid. we still have some people who have played for the entire life of the game, but because of altitis or other things, do not have a 50.I briefly grumbled (but only to myself) when I first learned of this. However, I am cool with it. I am pleased that I was able to get my Khelds and VEATS (I can't get myself to call Khelds EATS...squids...good EATS?) unlocked the old way.
I am going to speculate that if unlocking epics is no longer going to be a reward for reaching 50, then reaching 50 is going to have a reward that is much much much much better. My advice is to just be patient and wait and see what happens. -
Quote:any idea in the form of getting new primary/secondaries other then rolling a new toon should be automatically deleted and not be let out into the forums. it is not a good idea at all.I would go for a complete power set respec on one condition.
First I'll remind just why the devs don't want one. The answer is because it would be too easy to start out with a power set that is easy at the lower levels and hard at the middle levels and then respec into one that is hard lower and easy middle once you have passed the balance point.
Now here is what I would like to see. A complete power respec trial that lets you choose the new power sets but makes you start over at level 1. Then once you have reached the level that you did the respec you could create a secondary build with the original power sets. I would set the minimum level for the respec at about 30. So if you did the respec at 30 then once you had reached 30 again in the new build you would be able to switch back and forth between the two builds and powersets all the way to 50. -
uh, stop with the doom posts. you're being a freakin baby.

Quote:so sorry that you don't agree with my reply. and no i did not call your idea retarded unlike how you just did. i think we all know this isn't final, but you really should have thought out a better idea, especially since you yourself admit it is way overpowered. as far as me trolling, all i did was do what we were asked to do if we didn't like an idea, which was leave more then just a /jranger.Dont forget my helmet
oh and by the way, thanks for trolling on the forums, you forgot to say what you wanted to change about it.
This set is modeled after electricity manipulation, as i said, so its more of a blapper set, and i know its a little overpowered, well more than a little. you were SUPPOSED to either say you like it, it looks good, or say no i want to change this. not just say, hey look your retarded i hate your idea. and i did say we should add dark blasts to blasters.
Ive heard a good bit of people suggest this, so i wanted to TRY and put out an ok powerset for you guys to help me with, this is NOT a final. So please, the next couple of people dont just bash the idea, say what you want to change. Thanks
think out some numbers and powers that do not include a self heal and then sit back and discuss.
