  1. NYCC just put up their listing of Panels and Screenings, but I don't see anything for COH or NCSoft yet. (Note: click the "View All by Track" button, it's a little easier on the eyes.)
  2. There are some players around who might need to fill out their one-of-everything collections.
  3. I had to reroll my first new post-I21 character because I messed up the vet attack picks too. I really don't like the use of the email window for the vet rewards because it is too small. I'd much prefer the return to the larger Badge window with the chronological listing.
  4. I've encountered this problem occasionally for years. It seems to be a pretty random and I've never noticed any particular pattern to when it happens.

Early last year, I happened to notice that there was a lot of Terlingua, TX land being offered on eBay. I wondered why. There isn't much now, by the way.
  6. There's the color chart, but the only named "khaki" is a green one.
  7. Since the Forum update (well, as of when I could log back into it yesterday), the Forum isn't remembering me even though I have it checked. Every time I restart my browser session, I have to re-log back in. Anyone else experiencing this?

    I'm using Chrome.
  8. Man, I'm finally back into the forums! Both my accounts' passwords needed to be reset to get onto the forums. No posting privileges all day felt so limited.
  9. I had tried to like Galaxy City in the past and started several characters there. However, the thing that peeved me about it is that other than Paco Sanchez, all the other Contacts are very inconveniently placed at a distant corner of the zone. And what was most annoying is that they don't give missions in Galaxy, so they required a lot of running back and forth between them and the Train Station. They were the reason I've always taken Swift at level 6 regardless of the need-for-Stamina debate.
  10. I started pre-buying back in the "Days of Isolation", where each colony of characters in a server were on their own. It's a lot easier nowadays with gleemail. Of course, I still need to check half a dozen Bases to find something that I think I still have some of.

Each of my matured Bases has 8 enhancement storage bins, generally organized as:

    1. ranged Set IOs
    2. melee Set IOs
    3. TAOE/PBAOE Set IOs
    4. controls/buff/debuff Set IOs
    5. armor Set IOs
    6. heals/pets Set IOs
    7. procs/Hami/purples
    8. commons IOs (when not needed anymore, repurposed for misc overflow)

Maybe the GM didn't enable seeing enemy chat?

    arg help me.

Do you want to just get away from being a Tank or melee in general? Like are Brutes, Scrappers and Kheldians too similar?

For the most variety, I'd suggest a Controller. If played right, you can negate alpha strikes and take the lead in teams, ie pave the way and be the first to engage enemies as a tank would, so it'll be sort of familiar. Meanwhile, you'll have the additional responsibility of buffing your team mates and debuffing the enemies. There's quite a lot to do and to keep track of, and each encounter is different especially if you have idiots for team mates. If you want a specific suggestion, I found Plant/Storm to be really fun combo.
  13. What I like is someone to go around getting all the zone explore badges for my beacons because I'm lazy.

The low level ones are also expensive because they allow you to slot them earlier. For example: so your Fire Tank isn't bounced around like a ping pong ball for the next 40 levels, so that you can actually tank.

Like Mental_Maiden says, I don't use the Reward Merits often. Meanwhile, I join TFs a lot. Most of my characters have several hundred Reward Merits and a few have 1K+ saved. But that's really not impressive compared to others who I've heard maxed out their Rewards Merits inventory. In addition to the TFs, I don't make new characters often, so I don't have a steady need for a lot of Set IOs all at once. Like I've mentioned, I've pre-bought stacks of most of the Sets IOs that I've found that I like to use, years in advance. So even when I do have a new build to assemble, I'm not in a pinch.
  16. The recipe for a Positron triple is never available when I want one, especially as a mid-30s. And while I can well afford it, I'm still too much of a cheapskate to pay for crafted enhancements. So I just buy the recipe with regular Reward Merits. It's one of the few Set IO pieces that I will do that after a cursory check of the Market. I could do Hero Merits, but I only have around half a dozen of them between all my characters compared to the thousands of Reward Merits I have available.

Oh, and how do I hunt and gather all the Set pieces I need for a build? I set out bids (typically low-ball) for stacks of the recipes and wait a year.
  17. Did you check your Options-->General tab-->Email section:

    - In Game Email = Enabled
    - Local Mail: Friends and SG Only = Disabled
    - Global Mail: Global Friends Only = Disabled

Not in NYC. I got selected for Grand Jury a few years ago. The term was a flat 20 days (4 weeks) unless there was a case still open, then we'd be held until it was done.

Grand Jury duty was actually pretty fun. If you have the time to spare and an employer who's willing to pay you for the month, I'd recommend that you let yourself get selected. Unlike a "real" jury, there's no pressure to make a permanent life affecting decision. You're basically just prescreening the Asst Dist Attorney's evidence, witnesses, etc. to see if his/her case has merit to proceed to court.

During the course of the month, we heard a lot of cases. Most were broken up in to several presentations. I guess it depended on scheduling of the witnesses and experts. After the first couple, I had to jot down some generic notes to keep track of them. It's allowed, but you can't make any case-identifiable notes or take them home.

By the way, some of my fellow jurors were concerned about the friends of the accused brought in as witnesses and even the accused who wanted to speak brought in, might try to memorize their faces for retaliatory purposes (like in the movies). If you are also concern, then I suggest that you volunteer to be the jury foreman or assistant foreman. I was picked to be the foreman and from what I observed, even if the presentation lasted an hour or two, the most the accused or friends of the accused saw my face was 3 times for a total of less than 30 secs. They'll look at me when they come in because I'm sitting at the big desk, but the bailiffs usher them to the witness stand chair immediately. They'll look at me when I'm reading the honesty oath, but I'm reading it off a much photocopied sheet of paper in a bored sort of way. And if I happen to have a question for the accused, I'd have to come down and around whisper it to the ADA (who if they think the question is relevant would do the asking to the accused). That's it. Whereas the rest of my fellow jurors are all sitting in front of the accused for the whole hour or so.

If you can't get the foreman or assistant foreman position (who does nothing except sub for the foreman in case the foreman is out sick), then I suggest volunteering for the secretary and assistant secretary positions. They just log the cases into the journal, ie copy the info from the slip of paper from the ADA into the book. They do still sit in front of the witness stand, but off to the side a bit.

But the big plus to taking one of these 4 positions is that you automatically have a table to eat your lunch at! Unlike the others who need to share/crowd around the supplies table or eat at their chair.

This happens to me all the time, to the point where I don't even bother using Insps during a fight. I believe the cause, for my own case, is due to me waiting until I'm down to 1/4th health before I decide that yeah, maybe I'm not going to be able to clear all these bad guys before I get defeated. So I'm running backwards and hopping (to get over obstacles) while desperately clicking away at a green Insp. The Insp typically never activates for me and I die. Thus I've come to the same conclusion as Mr_Morbid: Insp are on the same queue as other actions, but lower priority. Nowadays, when the going gets rough, I just focus on to getting my butt around a corner, before I use an Insp.

    Wisps aura gone?

I thought the Wisp aura was unlocked for the account, so it being missing while there's a problem with the Account Server seems to be a reasonable correlation.
  23. If you need to pull out some special IOs in prep for a planned significantly changed build, you could use your current free respec to do that.
  24. That song actually sounds pretty good. Unfortunately, I couldn't make out all the lyrics.
