I have several characters at, or near, the ticket cap... that'd mean I'd basically be getting the daily merit limit every day for quite a while... without even having to play!

If you hit the surface of water hard enough, it'll act pretty damn similar to to a solid for a brief moment (ever heard of surface tension?). That's the reason why if you're diving into water from a good distance up, you want to enter the water at a point (feet pointed down, or hands first) to pierce the surface... hitting the water flat on would cause the water to act similar to a brick wall (as in, it'll hurt a hell of a lot if you're lucky).

Hell, they're doing exactly the same thing they've done for years to non-AE content. Some mission gives way "too much" reward? Adjust it so it's in line with the others. Claiming the devs lied to us about what AE is, is rather silly.

You can go back to him and he'll continue on. It's an auto-fed ex mission, like the ones for the PvP zones, the hollows, the security cheif, etc.

Remember this: Norton is one of the most commonly installed AV software out there (because of deals with OEMs it frequently comes preinstalled with a short subscription), so most virus makers will TEST their viruses against Norton's heuristics to ensure that it can't detect it (generally also McAfee and maybe a couple others).

Also, in the past a few viruses used Norton's own defenses against the system: They'd hide in Norton's 'quarantine' section, which Norton hides from the rest of the system and doesn't scan... making it extremely hard to discover them.

No one should ever take me serious when I'm making Futurama references. Now if I was making Code Geass references... yes, you should take me very serious. But I'm not. And you shouldn't.

I think you misunderstood. I wasn't talking about Avast there (I had already seconded the recommendation ), as the home version is free (no nag screens! ), I was actually more so referring to Norton and McAffee... though I've heard claims that Norton has gotten "better" (Norton at least used to be able to turn any machine into a slow pile of crap, while being the least likely of all the popular AV software out there to catch anything).

I hate to see people pay good money for antivirus software when the antivirus software generally is worse for their computer than the viruses they contract anyways!

And before any misunderstandings, that's only to activate the account, nothing is actually charged to the card until the end of the first month... and if you wanted, you could immediately remove the card after activation (and you'll never be charged... of course, the account will lapse after the free month unless you enter some way to pay, or game/time cards).

Just for completeness sake, there's also a University in Croatoa (go raging sallies!), as well as a few 'Abandoned Labs' on red side which serve the same function as a University.

(were there any other unies in Paragon? I thought there were 3...)

Click 'Missions' on your navbar thingy, click on a mission you wanna do, then click the little button at the bottom of that window (I think it says something like 'Activate Task' or some such... it's red, IIRC). To get the missions themselves, either get a mission from a contact, or from the newspaper/radio.

You can use broadcast, your search comment (easy to set when you're not on a Team in the Team window... also set your LFT status in that window!), as well as forming your own teams with the Search window (button on the team window, or type /search).

Each zone has a different level range for which the police scanner will work.. there's always going to be a zone where you can get scanner missions (well, after level 5!). Also, remember that you can only have 3 missions at a time, as well as only 1 police scanner (radio) or newspaper mission at a time.

Linux's binary backwards compatibility is pretty much just **** (you're forced to install a crap-ton of support libs... and hopefully they're all exactly the right version! so many libraries don't give a CRAP about stable ABIs). OS X's compatibility with older versions of OS X isn't bad, but there's still lots of breaks (and forget about OS 8!). Visual Basic 5 was released OVER A DECADE AGO, for Microsoft's first 32bit OS (Windows 95)... a different processor architecture (x86 vs x64), as well as a different OS platform (Vista is based on NT, while Windows 95 was based on DOS). I bet with some effort you could get it installed and working just fine.

I hate to admit it, but Microsoft actually has a pretty damn good record for backwards compatibility... in fact, so much so that it's really screwed them over for many years (API level bugs simply can't be fixed, inconsistencies are there forever, etc).

They can play them, if they're part of a team doing them. They just can't start one on their own.

Some Kill X missions define a certain zone that you have to defeat the mob in, so that won't work for all.

I was so disappointed when I learned that 'meow missions' had absolutely nothing to do with beating up catgirls.

Good news for you! With the changes in i16, you can still get XP while above the level range of a TF! And, IIRC, you'll get to keep all the powers up to +5 of the level you're exemped/mal'ed to.
