  1. I am seriously stuck with what to pick now on my plant/storm after they let us have inherent fitness. It seems like the only options I have are useless filler powers which is really annoying to me. Any help would be appreciated. Here is what I was kind of doing ... I really don't like the build, it was just my last try ... I do not like the under slotting of hurricane and the whole build is just messy lol ...

  2. This is not really meant to just be a thugs vs bots thread, but I had a question. I think most people seem to agree that Thugs do more damage normally than Bots. I was thinking though that at level 50 the main damage dealer of thugs will be much lower level than the main damage dealer of Bots. It just seems to me that the Assault Bot would end up doing much more damage overall than the Arsonist against higher level enemies of perhaps +3 or higher? I also think that the Assault bot lives MUCH longer than the arsonist which means more damage.

I am just wanting to make another MM, but I am stuck between the two. I am thinking Bots/Dark since I already had a L50 Bots/Traps I deleted to make room a few years ago. I also already had a Thugs/Dark I also deleted years ago. I always wanted to take a MM to blue side so I am ready to make them again.

How is the bruiser now?, especially compared to the Assault bot. He was OK back when I had him, but I did not use the first upgrade since it caused KB which was annoying and I see that has changed. I know he is supposed to be a "tank" type pet, but it just seems like he would run in and take alpha and die in a few seconds lol. Let me know what you guys think. Any opinions on end game play would be appreciated also!
  3. That was a very good read TYVM for that. I suppose I am expecting to much from my set. I know we all have weaknesses and that is fine, but it just seems like /SR weakness means death since we get hit for full amounts. It seems like while other sets lower against certain foes ours is completely gone.

I am a claws/sr brute btw, I just like coming to this forum since most people who post seem to really know what they are talking about. Although, I am having thoughts of making this guy a scrapper. I just wish when you did a re-spec you could put all your enhancements in a bank or something ... Only having 10 slots to keep and having to do more re-specs to get all your wanted sets out is annoying lol.
  4. Well, I am still going to have a buffer, I just did not know how much. Anyway, anything past the soft cap would not matter anyway would it against to hit buffs? Does having 50 def actually mean anything if they have acc buffs? I thought a buffer was only for def de-buffs?

I am going to spec into dark for the neg to hit stuff also so that should help. (Not against DE but against other stuff at least)
  5. First that is good to know about my def, I was kinda wondering how much cushion I would need. I am going to do a re-spec here soon and that will help me greatly with slotting.

I thought about the level difference and then I changed it to +0/8 and I still see the same numbers flying around.
  6. Well, I am playing my /SR toon and he has 51 def to all positions in case of de-buff to have some cushion. Anyway, what happened to the 5% chance to hit me? Not counting bosses and AVS of course. I am level 50 and I normally solo stuff on +2/+8 so they are level 52-53 or something like that and it seems nothing has 5% chance to hit me. I am seeing nothing, but 6.9 and 8.2, 9.3 and these are from minions and Lieutenants. I am currently on a tip mission fighting "spirits" but it happens with other stuff also. It just sucks to feel weaker the higher level you get ...

I do not include DE in this or Nemesis with Vengeance since I know they have a higher base chance to hit and get buffed etc.
  7. Ah, OK cool tyvm for the quick answer! I was really thinking about dark being an option, but I suppose not hehe. You made good points.
  8. Ohh, that is nice tyvm. I totally forgot about the stun set in boxing. I think that is normally cheap also! ... A great build!

My End is great now, but the body mastery is kinda boring. I was thinking about taking Cardiac and then going dark from patrons for all the neg to hit stuff ... any thoughts on that?
  9. Any idea's on how I can make this build better? Any advice on powers or selection? Any info to make this better would be appreciated!

THIS IS MY ACTUAL BUILD RIGHT NOW!

TYVM for that super cheap build, that is awesome. I will save that for later and use that for sure. I might change it a tad to get different powers sooner or later, but great build! This is what I was looking for exactly.
  11. I love claws. I had exactly the same thoughts as you about smashing/lethal and it kept me from playing certain sets for a long time. I finally decided to just play claws/sr and it is the best brute I have ever made. Anything that has resistance to your attacks dies in 10 seconds instead of 5. It is not a huge deal at all and I only notice it personally on robots and they still die very quickly.

The best advice is to not let anything keep you from playing what you want to play and just play whatever you think will make you happy.

I still have VERY bad altitis and even I can't stop playing my L50 Claws/SR Brute. He just rocks.

    /Shield Question

Hmm, thanks for all the great builds. It has given me a lot of ideas and now I know what to use. I think I will go forward with the WM/SD now and build it up.

It does not seem like the extra +3def proc makes a huge difference and you still have to use a ton of expensive sets. I thought it might make more difference.

    /Shield Question

Hmm, thanks for the response and I appreciate your help. Like I said I already have both +3def enhancements. So a build built around those would be awesome. I also went with war mace as my primary. I would like to not spend over 1b if possible? I don't know how feasible that is? If it is over that then I can deal with it. I don't want to have to give up much just to be cheap if that is the case though.

    /Shield Question

Hello, I was wondering how hard it would be and how much would it cost to softcap all positions in a /shield toon if I already have Gladiator's Armor: +3Def and that other cheap +3 def ... so +6def just from two enhancements. I currently have them both oh my /SR toon and I was just curious if it would be worth switching to /shield. Thanks for any info!

PS: I was going to try WM/Shield since I want a weapon with my shield and not SS or FM.
  15. Do you have a link or anything? I think you are the person I am trying to trade with lol.
  16. OK I am looking to buy an IO that is about 3 billion ... There is no safe way to do this it seems. The buyer has to take all the risk also which really sucks, but makes sense I suppose. Will GMs do anything if that person just takes your cash and logs off or does not trade you the promised IO?

    2. The +Rch Proc, how exactly does that work?
    4. If I got SS and take Rage, what are good ways to slot it?
    5. Also how is /SR?

    2. Basically you have a chance for 100% recharge for 5 seconds ever time you knockdown an enemy. This is an excellent proc to place in foot stomp. I think it can only proc once every 10 or 20 seconds though. I love it though and always slot it whenever I can.

    4. I just slot rage with two gneric recharge IO's

    5. /SR is annoying at low levels and it was difficult for me to keep my first /SR brute. I got a FM/SR TO 50 recently and he is godly. I am re-making him though since FM is boring. The /SR is the most survivable brute I have ever made. Make sure to take aid self eventually though!

If you make a /sr and solo a lot then I suggest running missions at -1/+4 or something like that. I had trouble at low levels even doing +0/+0 but when I did -1/+4 I did much better and the xp with more enemies was still very nice. Once I got to soft cap though I could easily do +1/+8 or higher with little problems.
  18. Yes, I believe that is a major part of the boredom factor. I know it does great damage, but I am starting to Yawn when I play him lol. I seriously love /SR though and I have never had a more survivable brute. My first thought was to go claws/sr but I think those would bore me also since they do not really smash much either. They do make cool sounds and animations though I guess.

I made a wm/sr and I do enjoy the heavy hitting smash attacks. I just have two right now and man are they slow to recharge, but I know that will get better eventually and with more attacks. I am going to try and stick with this wm/sr and see how it goes!

PS: I kinda stopped wanting to make a /sr scrapper when I saw the horrible difference in when I get my /sr powers. It is bad enough with a brute, but I would have to wait even longer to soft cap with a scrapper YIKES! (But then again I would have no taunt aura and I would not actually be the tank, so I guess it would not matter technically.
  19. Hello, I just got my FM/SR Brute to 50 and he is basically immortal. The only real problem I have is how boring FM seems to me. I also do not like FSC all that much. It is a very strong set since DoTs increase with fury, but honestly, most stuff dies so fast it does not matter much normally.

I am wondering if a scrapper might be better overall and do considerably more damage. I know brutes get more health, but is it that much more where it would be paramount?

I also can't really decide on a primary. I like claws and I am thinking claws might be the right choice, but I also like super strength. I just keep having a nagging feeling about lethal damage being resisted so much. I am open to other options though except dark melee. I want something with more aoe honestly. I would not mind a spines/sr, but both of those seem to be end hogs and that might end up being very annoying lol. I was also possibly thinking KM/SR scrapper since KM would kinda give me a feeling of foot stomp with burst, but I dunno for sure. Thanks a lot for any opinions or info!
  20. Well, that explains why I was getting my butt kicked by carnies as well. I have been doing +1/+8 on my FM/SR Brute and I decided to pick carnies to see how I do and wow they hit me A LOT. That dot drove me crazy when trying to use aid self also. I understand we all need weaknesses, but it does not really seem fair to me that a pet can make your soft cap seem useless, especially as many as the master illusionist summons + the phantasms.
