Quote:hmm... I think it's pretty clear, too. I think the answer is NEW players. But I'm guessing you mean something different so maybe it's not so clear.RMT Spammer Behavior
Huh? now why would an RMT spammer think that their most profitable area would be in Atlas in the AE building or in WW?
I can conjecture on this, but I think it is pretty clear actually.
Just ask yourself why players that would be in either location would be more willing to break the EULA to purchase illegal in-game inf in the AE in Atlas or the WW in Atlas as opposed to other locations in the City?
I really think that the DEVs need to be asking themselves this same question. -

Quote:Who made the cards? An "nVidia card" or "ATI card" refers to the GPU (the chip that does the work). Other companies manufacture the cards. For example, my nVidia card was manufactured by EVGA.Does nVidia have a reputation of having horrible fans? Or, do you think that my PC is 'causing' the fans on my video cards to die?
And yeah, if you had 8 cards in a row die, my first guess would be that it's you or your computer and not the cards. -
Quote:Actually, it is. Let me state the blindingly obvious: your experience is far from typical. We get plenty of trial account players in here asking questions about gameplay, indicating that they installed and got into the game just fine.Of course I'm judging the game, but I won't pay for any piece of software that isn't at least stable first. This isn't.
Now for the bad news. Your CPU is a bit underpowered, you're kind of low on RAM, but your video card is GROSSLY underpowered for this game. This wouldn't affect installation but that card won't be able to run the game well.Quote:p4 1.5, 1gb RAM, geforce fx5200, windows XP -

Quote:hmm.... I guess there was some rumor of general dissatisfaction....The rumor is that a chunk of the player base is unhappy with the news on Champions's next expansion.

Quote:This BS again? We had this in a thread about making names non-unique.The only people I noticed who are upset about changing this aspect of the anniversary badges are those who already have all of them. And to me that just kind of seems a little mean spirited to be so tenacious on technicality when it will affect them in no way.
Just because someone disagrees with your position doesn't mean they are greedy / stupid / mean and nasty / whatever. Why don't you entertain the notion that people like or dislike your idea on its own merits, rather than it being all about them. -
Right. The drops ARE weighted for 'usefulness'; i.e. ranged damage sets will drop more often than sleep sets. But it's based on the game population as a whole and your character AT is not a consideration.

Quote:One? Guess again. You can always try passing Break Frees to your heavy damage dealing pets. And take one yourself and get in there with every temp damage power you have yourself.
When you get hit by a geyser, right-click the icon to bring up the power information. The numbers are just NUTS. It's something like:
100% chance of mag 6 knockback
75% chance mag 12 knockback
50% chance of mag 18 knockback
etc.
I don't recall the numbers, but I think it can exceed mag 60. If I'm remembering correctly from when I did that mission, you'd need 6 break frees to 'probably' resist the knockback. -
Quote:Wrong. Well, for some powers. Using superspeed and running at high speed into a geyser would be bad. Walking into a geyser with superjump active will not throw you off-course and will let you steer in mid-air.I'm a bit confused about the optimal way to use gravity geysers. The Wiki says:
"Geysers exceed the "hard cap" for Jumping Travel Powers. Using a geyser while such powers are active will often send the character wildly off course."
Basically, the geyser flings you through the air and any power that gives 'air control' is helpful (SJ, CJ, IR, etc). Having flight as a back-up is very useful.
"Oops, I'm going to miss my target."
<click flight on and you are immediately hovering> -
To be perfectly honest, I don't. You're absolutely right that keeping 7 other characters constantly speed boosted is a nuisance - so I don't. My first priority is anyone with endurance issues, followed by the most 'bang for the buck' - if we have one AoE blaster, I'll keep that person SB'ed.

Quote:Yeah, I would ask. Never having used the program, I'm not sure if it's rule-breaking or not. However, if a mod cares to tell me that this is in fact considered automation then I will not consider it further, I did it in WoW after calling and emailing customer support and contacting several GMs who all told me it is not a violation of WoW's EULA. If that's not the case here then I simply won't do it.
Really, it depends on the power of your system if you need it at all. If you do use the command, you might as well use it on both accounts. Whichever one you currently have selected will run at full FPS. Only the inactive one will have the frame rate reduced. If you want to force one instance to run at a lower frame rate at all times, you can use the /maxfps command.Quote:Even if that's the case I have no problem doing it without the "slave" toon doing anything other than following which leads to my question about the /maxinactivefps command. Do I only want to do that on the secondary account? -
Quote:From their web site:Thanks but I'm familiar with how to do it as I assumed it would work the same as it does on WoW what I'm not familiar with is how to set up autohotkey with it and whether or not it will even work well with CoX or if I need to use another program.
It sounds like it would allow you to automate, or partially automate, one or both accounts. If I am interpreting the program capability correctly, this is explicitly prohibited by the EULA. In fact, there was a big post about account security that mentioned botting as a sure way to get your account permanently banned.Quote:Automate almost anything by sending keystrokes and mouse clicks. You can write a mouse or keyboard macro by hand or use the macro recorder. -

Quote:Simple enough question.Yes, you may lose your toon name.. but teaming would be a LOT better.
Your thoughts...
NO. And a simple enough answer.
If *YOU* are having trouble teaming, feel free to ferry to Freedom (say that 10 times fast). You have 3 days left for the free transfers. -
-
-
Of course I saved a lot of influence by waiting. I'm poor redside.
-
Not rude at all to ask.
HOWEVER, if you're doing it for purposes of teaming, I think you will get better results from joining some global channels. You should post in the section for your server and ask for recommendations. Also, you can look in the Player Guides section, where there is a stickied thread List of Global Channels. -
Quote:hmm.... the article itself sounds like it was written by someone with an axe to grind.TV Tropes to the rescue!
They explain a number of the reasons why there's people who loathe the comic so much. -
Quote:Fixed that for you.For Signature TFs (Posi, Synapse, etc; I'm not sure which ones redside, but there are some), the enemies will always spawn at the highest level for their range, then adjusted upward by difficulty setting
And just how do we manage this? We need an entire stable of characters with XP turned off to play the task forces with greater difficulty? Not a viable workaround.Quote:Have a level-locked level 10 as the team leader, and the whole team gets +5s for the TF. Adjust the leader's level as necessary for the difficulty you want. -
Quote:Actually, based on my reading of the various threads, I think the majority opinion is that people prefer the system the way it is. I think most people don't care *WHY* someone can't get the name they want (resulting in forum posts). We (I put myself in this group) just want the system to stay the way it is because we think it's BETTER.I was getting "In a huff" because anytime the subject comes up, the majority opinion is "You're just not creative enough" which leads to an annoying argument instead of an intelligent discussion.
Not because we're greedy jerks.
Not because we enjoy that some people struggle to find names they like.
Not because we're contrary.
We honestly think this is the best way to handle character naming.
Also, and this should be BLATANTLY OBVIOUS, we're still playing the game and have just as much chance as anyone else of having our first choice unavailable the next time we make a character. We just feel this is an acceptable trade-off for the benefit of unique names. -
You might as well stop right there.Quote:No, not really, not with people.A chair is a chair is a chair. But two Jonhs are not alike. A human is a human is a human, but two Johns will still not be the same.
Sailboat's OPINION is that the uniqueness of a name has inherent value.
Your OPINION is that it does not.
For either of you to try to 'correct' the other is just stupid. -
Quote:Yes, we get that just fine.I'm having a hard time understanding your logic here.
What I'm saying is:
If I eat a sandwhich, you can't have it, because I ate it. If I take a name, noone else can have it, because I took it and the game won't allow two people with the same name. My having the name, by the very nature of the system, prevents anyone else from having it.
Where we have a difference of OPINION, is that some of us think this is a good thing for the game, while you clearly think it is not.
That's our logic - we feel that having unique names is BETTER FOR THE GAME. Unfortunately, I can't see any way to gather evidence either for or against this opinion. -
Well, the general rule of thumb that I have seen is that Rage lets you replace one of your accuracy SO's. Having 30% global accuracy would let you replace the other.
HOWEVER, if you ever expect to exemp and lose that accuracy bonus, you need to re-think this plan.

I just reactivated the other day. When I made that post, I assumed that only a handful of people would have a clue about anything I said;
