People that use "Lad" or "Lass" in their character names should have their keyboard privilages revoked.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Why?[ QUOTE ]
    Laser Lass is banging!

I'm personally rather concerned that we seem to be drawing out all the 'you must be a pervert because you do x' types lately. Not only are they showing up in the forums a lot, but they're also being very vocal in-game ever since the Super-Tailor feature was announced.

The G.I.R.L.-types have been taking a much more severe verbal beating than they usually do.

I'm very sad to see that we have such an active population of bigots and haters.

    All I ever see is:
Some boy: Are you really a girl?
    Girl Ignores
Some boy: How old are you?
    Girl Ignores

If theres something else going on I don't see it.

    Changing Origins

    [ QUOTE ]
The Flaming Bunnyman was a level 30 mutation origin Fire/Fire/Flame blaster.

Then I was looking over the origin-based titles.

The Fabulous Flaming Bunnyman is a level 31 natural origin Fire/Fire blaster, eagerly eyeing those purples that his previous incarnation put in the storahe bins.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I never really even considered this. I know that there are origin titles but until you actually stated it this way, I hadn't given it much thought when designing a character. I normally just go with what their lore entails.

I may start selecting origins based on possible titles I want them to have in the future.

Given that most AE farmers these days are completely incompetent, we should be telling newbies that they're deluded and the best way to level is with story arcs and Task Forces.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Maybe every time someone enters the ae under level 20 there should be an advisory of some sort to that effect.

I want to make a Dark/Dark toon with white attacks. So its more like "Light Melee/Light Armor" than Dark. >_>

    [/ QUOTE ]

I kind of like the dark powers. My Dark/Dark Defender I designed his costume to match the color scheme of the powersets.

However, my Elec/Elec Blaster, who is a MU Dissident is definitely getting the Red MU colors instead of the blue.

My MM, I hope they allow for bot customization. I would love the Bots to be the same color scheme as his outfits are.

Thats funny i happen to be a boyscout! LOL

I wanted to, my parents would never let me, but then they pushed me into the military as soon as I graduated... Go figure.

    I'll never understand parents.

It's odd, though, at least from my perspective. I expect a veteran to want to level fast. After all, I'm traditional slow levelling's biggest proponent and even I can appreciate levelling fast now that I've done it all.

But what would possess a new player, one who hasn't seen anything from the the game, to want to level faster and faster? Doesn't it make sense to see the game and get a feel for it before you shoot for the end? I can only speak for myself, but I only look to level faster when I run out of interesting things to do and need that next level to get more. This shouldn't be a factor for a new player until at LEAST level 10, possibly until level 20. I remember back in the old days when I first got to level 20 and realised that ZOMG! It will take me all day to get a single level! This is horrible! THEN I might see someone look to level faster. But before that?

    [/ QUOTE ]

The idea that bigger is better. People want to be high lvl, they want the powers, they want the shinys. I suspect most have played other MMOs and know the power level mechanics of those games, Everquest and WoW are the specific ones I've played where powerleveling is done through dual boxing mechanics or multiple toons. End game in those two examples is different than this game. Its the same reason people buy accounts off of ebay and other RMT methods. They don't care about the effort they just want the 'high rolla'.
  8. Thx for the info both of you

You can build a personal SG base and put in Salvage and Enhancement bins. You'll need to get someone to invite your alts to it, but that's less of a risk.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I read about this. Is it pretty much just an SG with the basic plot size or is there an additional mechanic to it?
  10. You need to visit the Good Intentions Road Paving company... they might have a position opening up soon
  11. I've been anticipating making my Crab Spider since my main hit 45.

I already have the backstory, I already know the color scheme.

It just so happens the name I came up with is not taken in any version or variation of the name.

    CoV Account

    [ QUOTE ]
The client for the entire game is downloaded for every version, the only difference anyone would ever see is in the perks that each different TYPE of account get. COH and COV are one now, GVE gives the vip transporter to the tiki room in pocket D and the justice/sinister costume bits, while others give other perks. But the game itself is playable at the same level for every single active account no matter which code is used.

    [/ QUOTE ]

So let's say someone had a COV only account. If they go back to the account now and reactivate it they get credited for COH retroactively?
  13. You can still make the suggestion NT. Its not like it can't be edited. That was just what I came up with at the same time that I was asking for suggestions. I'm always open to ideas for my toons.

I am in atlas at the moment and I hear a difference between wading and jumping into a pool. However, the splash isn't something loud like CANNON BALL :SPLASH!:

Wait, people are getting the Cyborg pack for free? Curses! Why couldn't I get the Magic pack for free... or all the others I bought

    [/ QUOTE ]

yeah, there seems to be a bug similar to the random badge bug, where a random pack is being awarded
  22. I would probably wait. When I told the gms about my Badge issue they said not to claim anything. I suspect buying it on top of already having it would cause more issues when they attempt to fix it.
  23. [ QUOTE ]
But that point aside, this notion of "it's only fun on the surface" applies to pretty much any PvE MMO, doesn't it? In our game you fight baddies so you can fight tougher baddies. Having your character get more powerful is a fun feeling. In WoW you raid so you can do tougher raids. People get their kicks from making their characters more powerful, and it probably all looks pretty silly and pointless to a non-MMO playing observer.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I guess it would depend. In the standard MMO advancement path there isn't much variation to success. In COH there are multiple paths and I think there is more depth in the COH model than I think the other MMOs have. However, depth can me measured on different levels with different standards for the content depth is being applied to.

I think Everquest had hands down the most in depth lore and stories behind quests. COH has an amazing story as well, I'm not knocking that. I'm just saying that depth can be measured with different subject matter.

Superficial fun, fun on the surface that begins to fade as you realize what the real game is about, was primarily what i was referring to. COH doesn't have that pitfall, to me at least. As has been stated in previous replies though, the people who don't like the coh model wouldn't very well like that applied to WoW and the same can be said for COH conversely. It all depends on what people find fun.

    Hero stats

    [ QUOTE ]
And after you have that big window open, you can right mouse click on individual attributes and then select 'monitor' (don't recall exact wording), and they ones you select will appear in a small window. Remember, right mouse button is your friend!

    [/ QUOTE ]

In addition to this, any unit you inspect the combat attributes for then become the target of those stats. I find it nifty to examine my bots resistances for slotting forcefields etc. Then once I clear the target they go back to my stats.
