Quote:Really? I don't see a separate game nowadays.Separate game with completely different content. Not the same thing at all.
And neither do the devs.
Both CoV and GR are examples of stuff that you have to buy up front. But, if you wait long enough, are being given to you for free.
Granted, some people don't LIKE waiting for months/years. But that's THEIR problem. Not Paragon's or NCSoft's. -
Quote:No. Reread what I said.So your saying all those people who didn't buy Going Rogue actually have access to Dual Pistols and Demon Summoning and its just a glitch that they can't use those power sets?
The notion thet subscribers get everything for free with their sub is DEMONSTRABLY false.
Embellish it however you want... -
Quote:Agreed. I started on GvE. Then bought a collector's edition CoH and a collector's edition CoV for the prestige sprint and the arachnos emblem. This is not true. I started my original account using the plain ol' City of Heroes CD-Rom. I'm also a bargain hunter and as such I grabbed it for $10 shortly after issue 9. I was also able to later apply the GvE edition when I saw that cheaply enough to get my jump pack and Pocket D Pass a couple years later.

My example, look at the Harmonized Healing set in the background:

Or here, the Razzle Dazzle set or the Decimation IO:

Clearly sets with level limits at level 50.
Right now I can see two possibilities:
- Some or all sets now run the gamut from 10-50 in terms of level. This could vastly expand the number of IO recipes/crafted IOs possible (not necessarily AVAILABLE) to purchase on the market.
- IOs (as a whole) have been altered so that they "level up" with us (and possibly exemp without loss of set bonuses). This could vastly REDUCE the number of IO recipes/crafted IOs possible (again, not necessarily available) to purchase on the market.

Quote:To a certain point, I agree.Outdated simply means the game thinks the drivers are old based on date, not capabilities.
Aside, not directed an SinOfEnvy, but why do so many gamers need to upgrade their drivers every single time they are released if they are already working for the games you play? You all don't seem to understand that 90% of a new drivers purpose is to squeeze that extra 1/2 fps out of whatever the latest game sites are using to benchmark and if that driver messes up an older game, pphhhtt, who cares, the important review sites aren't using that game to benchmark cards anymore. 5% of the time a new driver is out to support a new video card/GPU and the other 5% are actual bug fixes.
[/rant]
However, in this case, we're talking about something NOT working. And one of the standard troubleshooting steps in cases like this is to attempt to update the drivers to see if that alleviates the issue. -
-
Quote:I tried cleaning the drivers like you suggested and running the CCleaner, then reupdating with the 11.6 update earlier in this topic, but it's still saying that my last update was in 2009 and CoH is still saying that my drivers are outdated, although trying to update through the Device Manager still tells me that I'm up to date.
Did you do the updates and driver cleaner in safe mode?
Also did you cancel out of the driver detection routine when rebooting Windows?
1: Reduce your resolution to 800x600
2: Uninstall your drivers
3: Reboot in safe mode
4: When the driver detection for your video card comes up, cancel out of it.
5: Run the driver cleaner.
6: Run the new driver install. -
Quote:Maybe during the cut scene of the ITF.Like I said, player-driven. I doubt we'll ever get any kind of "official" sanction, but imagine if you could copy a bunch of MP3s/OGGs/WTVs into the game folder and hear the mission briefing narrated to you by some other player who recorded it.
{Romulus} C'mon shorty! What're ya? CHICKEN?
{Master Nictus} Boot to the head *FWOOSH-THUNK*
{Romulus} OW! YOU BOOTED ME IN THE HEAD! -
Quote:Many thanks Guys, am on it now

And again, apologies for not thoroughly reading the post lists before I posted my original question, only four posts down the list arghhhhhh...duh
Honestly, I'd say, if you're going beacon hunting, you may as well just whirlwind the entire city. You'll come out of it with 22 beacons, roughly 70 merits. What's not to like?
THEN you can worry about picking and choosing the "best" ones. -
Quote:Considering that both these powers don't convey the untouchable protection that certain enemies *COUGH*FREAKSHOW*COUGH* get, they're essentially useless if your corpse is being camped. You get up and the enemy whacks you back down immediately....and Resurgence!
With the new Immortal Recovery inspiration...OMG...these two powers are put to shame by an inspiration.
Wow...great power... What are my ancillary pools again? Maybe I'll pick something more vital to my survival. Like Whirlwind...
At least with Rise of the Phoenix there's mitigation to get the enemies off you (Damage, KB). I'd like to see a couple seconds of untouchable/affects only self to allow you to at least START retoggling your defenses. -
Just got back myself.
Had people walking out BEFORE the end of the film due to the way the denouement happens. WHOOPSIE!
Then had people walk out as the credits rolled. WHOOPSIE! No Avengers trailer (an honest-to-Stan TRAILER!) for them.
All in all, I actually agree with Roger Ebert (faints in disbelief).
It's a good movie. It has all the problems of being an origin story (trying to shoehorn the mythos into a 2 hour movie and NOT having scenes go buy as if John Moschita's mouth was setting the pace or turning it into a 5 hour extravaganza). But, it's still a good movie. -

He's saying that people who wish to advance their level 50 characters are at a SEVERE disadvantage if raids aren't an option for them.
It has f**kall to do with "the rest of the game". -
Quote:Now for a big question: Hugo Weaving aka Agent Smith plays the Red Skull.....did the Skull have a henchman or agent named Anderson? Or did they blow a good opportunity for a Matrix easter egg? I can just imagine Weaving/Skull saying "Herr Anderson" or "Mister Anderson"....
Weaving is just REALLY good at misanthropic characters. -

Quote:Oh boy!No gesture speaks louder than the facepalm. When words fail to convey the level of exasperation, embarrassment, disappointment, or incredulity at a situation, slapping your palm to your face says volumes. If you want to go nVidia, go for the non-TI GTX 560.
If you wan to go AMD/ATI, go for the Radeon 6870.
Either one of these should be a nice swift kick in the pants for your graphics. -

Okay,
Not that I'm not grateful for the leg up that the new rewards program is allowing for.
But is just kinda leaves a sour taste in my mouth to be told:
"We're not taking anything way"
and
"You'll be given all these points"
Then told that to get things, a lot of the points will be pre-spent to cover stuff I've already got (though nothing will be taken away) or given mandatory purchase placements for stuff I've already got (though nothing will be taken away).
It just seems unnecessarily clumsy.
