Quote:So, fix it. It's a wiki -- anyone can edit it to make it better. In fact, just earlier this evening I added the page for My Other Selves (Villain Morality Mission), since it was missing from the wiki. The wiki is woefully an awful source of information about how it's done.
I'm going to quote the wiki on the subject, and you tell me what's difficult to understand or inadequate instruction:
Quote:Tips can obtained by characters over level 20 by defeating enemies. Any defeated enemy has a chance of dropping a Tip, regardless of whether that enemy is worth any experience.
Once a character has obtained their first Tip, a "Tips" tab will be added to the Contact Window. Any Tip can be viewed, accepted, or rejected from the Tips tab.
When a Tip is accepted in the Tips tab, a character will be given a choice of different versions of the same mission.
...
Characters can have a maximum of three Alignment Tips at one time, and only as many a five in one 'day' (a 20 hour cool down period). As long as a character already has three Alignment Tips or has reached their max for the 'day', no more will be dropped by defeated enemies.
As for where to find tips, I like to just street sweep in an area where the minimum level is 20 (IIRC, tips can only drop from level 20+ enemies, as well as requiring the player to be 20+, which is not mentioned on the page I quoted). For villains, Sharkhead Isle is a good place for this. For Heroes, Talos Island. -

That's exactly what appears to be going on, based on that combat log. The real question is why it's set up that way.

Quote:I've seen it be very useful on several superteams, such as the Fire/Rads (8 copies of Hotfeet and Choking Cloud suddenly enveloping the enemy is very effective). In those cases, it's also helpful to spread the aggro evenly, rather than an alpha strike on one single person. When I was on the Traps superteam, I also discovered that if I hit the button for Trip Mine, Acid Mortar, or Poison Trap right as I noticed our teleporter starting his animation, the pet would appear right as we finished the teleport, rather than leaving the pet behind or having to wait for the animation to finish.Other than Masterminds or primarily melee teams there are few times when it's even useful for coordinated strikes. It's a very situational power at best.
On a team that's coordinated and expecting it, Team Teleport can distribute and diffuse alpha strikes, and accelerate the team's speed (cutting out the time to travel between spawns). On most teams, it can be a hindrance.
Quote:Fleeting_Whisper, you forgot about the Summon Teammates temp power granted for completing Steel Canyon Mayhem and Safeguard missions. It has a much shorter recharge time than Assemble the Team, but only lasts for 24 hours of play time. -
Quote:Very well, very well. I submit fibb(BB(A(G, G))), where fibb(n) produces the nth number in the Fibbonacci sequence. p.oAre we doing this?
Then I play BB(A(G,G)) - a number so large that it is literally beyond the possibility of computation.
Your move, sir. o.q -
Similar to Adeon. I run Thugs/Dark with Superspeed, so I've got stealth -- until an enemy sees my pets, nobody will attack me (and with so many turns in both halves of phase 2, anyone that does see my pets will take a while to find LoS to me).
When phase 2 starts, I'll dismiss my pets so there's no issue at the beginning. Once I get to the first target, I'll resummon and take it out. Then, I start dragging my pets behind me, superspeeding through the area. I've got 30-some global recharge, plus Hasten and Frenzy (and Force of Nature if I really need it), so I can resummon my pets whenever necessary.
If things get hairy, I've got Demonic Aura. And, as of a couple days ago, I've got Barrier Partial Core Invocation.
Sticking with other members of your team also hleps when it comes to phase 2 of the Lambda trial. Whether you use them as support or a distraction for the enemies to munch on, they're helpful. -
Quote:I enjoy assassinating people with a scythe.I think I've logged in to GW once in the last year. Not sure why I still have it installed, honestly.
I've got an Assassin/Dervish with about an 87% chance to crit (and wielding a scythe, which has the inherent ability to hit 3 targets). Each time I crit, I gain energy and renew one of the enchantments buffing my crit chance, and renew a enchantment giving me extra armor. And each time I hit, for each target I hit (whether I crit or not), I do extra PBAoE damage as well. Hitting 3 targets means 5 ticks of damage on each of them, and 3 ticks of damage on everything else near me. Large groups melt pretty fast.
GW's death penalty only affects max health and energy, not your attributes. The only debuff to attributes is the Weakened condition, which reduces you attributes by 1 and damage by 66%, and that can't stack. (And the longest possible Weakened condition is 50.54s, and that's coming from a Necromancer with multiple temporary and permanent buffs to his Curses attribute, plus a buff to Weakened condition durations. Most Weakened condition is closer to 20s.) -
I want to add puzzles to the game. Not everywhere, but like, introduce a recurring Riddler-esque character to create them. If certain parts of the puzzle can be randomized, then even better because you can't just consult a guide to find the solution.
It doesn't need to be super complicated, either. For example, I really like the puzzle lock mechanic in Arkham Horror: Mansions of Madness, and those puzzles are simple color matching or image unscrambling -

Yes. But not the recharge time of the powers that the henchmen use, only the recharge time of the summon power.

I believe he's referring to the fact that Destiny buffs get weaker over time.

Assemble the Team, the veteran reward for 42 months fo subscription time.

I thought they said we'd be getting more powers for the existing slots before we got any more slots?

Quote:Mids' is currently written in VB.Net, though there's an effort to move it to C#, since new developers added to the team would have an easier time with it. I know Windows Phone 7 works with XNA 4.0, which is C#, but I wouldn't place bets on it simply working. There are plans for a cross-platform version of Mids' which will be written in Java, to be made available for Mac and Lunix users; a port to Android may be possible then, though it wouldn't be a straight port (Android uses XML and libraries created by Google for many things, not all of which could simply be replaced with standard Sun libraries). It's .NET based so I'm guessing it would be a massive PITA to port to Android (mostly Javaish) or iOS (Objective-C, easier but still a lot of work), though Windows Phone 7 runs a subset of the .NET managed code IIRC so that might be more viable, though still probably a lot of work.
I have talked with one person who is currently working on an iPhone hero builder (not currently part of the Titan Netowork). He sent me some screenshots of what he's got and it looks pretty nice, but it's not finished. -

Quote:Actually, stacking debuffs is extremely frustrating. "Hey, you failed to succeed in this encounter, so now you get to try it while you're weaker than before!"I rather liked number 8, Stacking Debuffs.
It would really curb the attempts at unnecessary risks if folks started having an actually harder time to play the character the more they were defeated. It's also a much more tangible penalty than experience debt, but far more manageable than the other options.
Each time you die in Guild Wars the game adds -15% "death Penalty" debuff, which reduces your maximum health and energy; it stacks up to -60%. The only way to remove it is through various rare items (mostly, special event only items, like the four-leaf clover for St. Patrick's Day) and special abilities, killing a boss(+2%) or achieving an objective in certain missions, or gaining 75 xp (+1%). Of course, all of the death penalty debuff is removed if you visit a town or outpost, but then you have to start whatever you were doing from the beginning. This is extremely frustrating if you're trying to fight a difficult boss or a large group of heavy-hitters. Even more so if you're playing a squishy character like an Elementalist or Mesmer which get low armor and health.
(On the other hand, death penalty is essential in obtaining the Legendary Defender of Ascalon title, since the only way to obtain it is to let enemies kill you so that they level up.) -

IIRC, it's closer to blue than purple. And, of course, it has Black Scorpion's symbol. It's been a while since I've seen it, though.

Quote:I just ran 2 BAFs back-to-back where we went for the Keep 'em Separated badge, and there was very little lag during the final fight with both AVs. Something to chew on.We finally decided to pull the two AVs apart (left Nightstar at the reinforcements spawn point, and pulled Siege to the tennis courts). Suddenly, the lag all but disappeared, and we had no problem finishing them both off simultaneously.
Solution to the lag: Go for the "Keep 'Em Separated" badge.
(And hey, Keep 'em Separated means you get another Astral Merit at the end, hey?)

Quote:On the other hand, I start slotting common IOs at lv22 (using lv25 IOs), and I save tons of money by not upgrading those 25s (I do upgrade to lv50s when I reach 47, but lv23-46 I simply slot the levels available to me). The 25s are less than a +0 SO, but not by much.I can't offer advice as good as some of the excellent posts here, but I can be nitpicky and tell you you're actually better off using SOs until character level 35+. At that point store-bought SOs are +0/+1 to you (depending on if you combined them with old SOs) and 35 IOs are equal to a +1 SO. If you team much, and so level at a decent clip, it makes the most sense to wait until you get to 37 before bothering with IOs. This is all IMO and referring to common IOs of course.

I wanna shoot the Moon Crazed Dancer in Studio 55. He uses /e howl every. five. seconds. >:(

No, you become either a Hero or Villain after Praetoria. After that, you can run Tip missions to change alignment.
If you're a Hero with an ancillary and you change sides, you keep the ancillary.
The advantage of Vigilate/Rogue is access to both sides. The advantage of Hero/Villain is alignment merits. -
The only things this game has that really compare to the microtransactions of a F2P game are server transfers, paid respecs, and rename tokens. The booster packs we have are not very much like the microtransactions in the fashion that most games use them.
