Quote:And you should be grateful for people like this. They allow you to avoid them without having to join their team.So you assure us that we will never see:

Because we all know this will become the norm.

Quote:Damn... the Wiki doesn't have siege as appearing in one offs. Done now, just Antimatter to go.Just do the new arc and then start hitting Ms. Jenkins up for the one-off missions. Take and abandon (not complete) them until you get the one for Siege. Only issue is that New Siege is much more annoying than Old Siege due to some giant heal when he hits 20% or so.
Oh, and the last time I did the arc, I made sure to Ninja Run off and leave my "helpers" behind. It's just easier that way.
Quote:States is the worst of them all, due to his hand-clap spam. Serpent Drummer comes in a close second since his +perception causes him to aggro the whole room.
Manticore and Posi weren't too bad, albeit a bit on the squishy side.
Quote:I always like teaming with the signature heroes - I just wish that the Freedom Phalanx base was available for players to go visit.
And welcome to the forums, Slainte
Yeah, I do. I had some issues swapping toggles and forgot to set rooted before dropping Granite and got perma-held. I hate Psi cos I have to swap powers for it. -
So there I was, running through the new Hero's Epic arc from Maria when I get this new team mate. Apparently he thought I needed a hand.
Now, I'm on my Granite tank stealthing to the end because I was after the AV's (not realising I needed to do the flashback version because siege was missing from the new version) so I took off and this muppet followed me aggroing everything behind me. So I unhid, cleared out the mobs and took off again. Checked the mini map, he's not following. Had to go back and grab his attention multiple times. Fortunalty, he was a pretty good fighter so I didn't have to work too hard to look after him in a fight.
He stuck around for a few missions then just dissapeared, without so much as a good bye.
A bit later on I had someone else offer to join, but they didn't accept my invite, which is a pain as I could have used the help on Malaise and Mother Mayhem. Stupid Psi attacks!
Then when I go to take on Infernal and Diabolique I get another teammate. Think she knew the first guy, different SG though. She was OK, didn't get stuck as much, but she killed Diabolique on me, so I didn't get the credit.
Then, I get 2 real chumps on the last couple of missions in the arc, same SG as the first bloke.. Freedom something. Aggroed everything in sight. Couldn't walk past a door to a dead end room without shooting. So annoying. At some point they both died and instead of heading to the hospital they both quit!
So if you see Ms Liberty, Positron, Sister Psyche or Manticore advertising for a team don't bother. Statesman wasn't too bad, but not really worth the effort either. -

No worries. If we schedule it for a time when you expect a fair shot at sticking around and warn everyone before hand of the situation we should be fine. There are very few TF's that can't be done with 7. Heck, we had 2 drop on a STF early on (including the emp) and still managed to finish.

Quote:Don't know, but I used to have this problem, but it's now fixed. The only thing I can think would have changed is upgraded drivers.Has a fix for this ever been found. I find it really annoying that I have to play in windowed mode!
Edit: I do have a problem now where alt tabbing won't access another window, the game one stays over the top. Far more annoying! -

Shadowe,
I'll be happy to carry you along on a TF for these with the understanding that you may have to dissapear at the drop of a hat. Once the weekly TF's are announced we can organise to run each one. I guess it would require you to be able to stay logged in and enter missions etc but that could be worked around. -
Quote:The numbers posted earlier indicate no:Do these convert a component back into the same number of shards it takes to create it? If so, does this mean if you're looking to make a common boost that needs component X, and you do a task force that gives component Y, you can convert component Y into shards and turn it into component X? Because if so, that is very awesome.

Quote:If they are recruiting through the voice chat then they won't get non users joining. If they are recruiting through the in game chat, then they need to accept some people aren't set up for voice chat and either state you must have it to join, or use the text chat too.As others said, the problem wasn't vent, the problem was the player not paying attention.
Similarly, if someone was running a group or whatever and they were using voice-chat to set it up and arrange it, it'd be really annoying if someone refused to get on voice-chat.
Sure, voice-chat isn't necessary, but that's how they want to communicate (and I imagine it'd be better on both sides if you don't try to force people to communicate in a means they don't want. And can make a good argument that even text chat isn't really necessary for a lot of content either.

Quote:How would it be any worse than a MA scrapper in the witch costume?I don't know about the current animator, but I do know BaB would have ripped off my head and punted it out the window while shouting "T for Teen" if I asked him to make martial arts animations that work with that costume.
However, if the new animator is crazy enough, I'd love to see how that would work. I have this mental image of my MA scrapper completely entangled around a Hercules Titan while it tries shaking me off its arms. -
Quote:I'm between the 2. I have a couple of chat channels I keep an eye on full of friends in game so am usually chatting to them in some manner. This thread has got me thinking. MMO's draw a pretty diverse crowd (It's that first "M"), and I am now wondering how many people could not care less about leveling and actually playing the game, but instead use it as a way to just chat with folks? Just something that made me go hmmmm.

I use the arrow keys with my right hand, although use WSAD often too. I have Q and E bound to look up and down. I use the numbers at the top of the keyboard for powers. Most common powers (primary attacks and control usually) in the bottom row grouped to ST/AoE/Cone. Special tools (snipe, AS etc) go into 0 and 9 on the bottom row. Secondary powers (Melee for blasters, attacked for Doms and Tollers) go into the second row. Toggles go into the end of this from 0 down and are usually bound to Z using ALT and CTRL for various other situation toggles. Top row has fly/jetpack in 1, sprint/ninja run in 2, hover/recall friend in 3, Rest in 4 and Ouro in 5. Everything else gets put where ever I can find space.

And a nice fat add for a new Super hero MMO in the middle of the interview.... good work MMORPG!

Quote:I knew someone would have a linkI think all 3 of you are talking about the same guy, lol. And like the 3 of you, I can't seem to remember his name, but remember the thread. I imagine he'll chime in at some point.
EDIT: Here it is. -
I also think it was people TPing people into the dance cages. However, they should find a way to suppress Recall Friend and TP foe without supressing the self TP travel power.

Quote:Totally agree with you here. Although it's hard to justify starting something (assuming it's combat related, as the rest of the game is) as a hero. I would love to see us take the war to the Rikti though. On the flip side, I hope the Praetorian war doesn't monopolise all content for years to come, so eventually we'll have to do something else. And to be honest, I'd rather not have every level of Incarnate content be some kind of crisis event or war or invasion or what have you. Let us be proactive for a chance and go start something, rather than always being invaded by everyone and their grandma.

I think there is an optoin to add them to the chat logs but I'm not 100% sure. If you edit the chat tab there is an 'invisible' line (It's a really dark colour so you can't see it I believe. I think that is the one you want, but can't test it right now as am at work.

I think it's better than a totally unrelated story. We are at War here! All hands on deck kind of thing. I like the idea and would love to play something like that.

Someone had a video of them controlling the game with motion capture of some sort. Was very cool.
