"A soloable Apex Crossover/tie-in"

It is obvious that some people want content in the incarnate levels that are entirely soloable. When I think of the Apex and Tin Mage task Forces, they kind of have that "epic crossover" feel, like when Marvel does something like Infinity Gauntlet or Civil War. Those stories are usually told in their own limited series. Like, you would have to collect Civil War issues 1-6 to complete that story. However, they would often have tie ins with the regular single character or small team books. An issue of Captain America would explore a minor plot point that was glossed over in the main book. Sometimes it would say "This comic takes place in between issues 4 and 5 of Civil War" or whatever.

The In game Incarnate Task Forces have several points that lend themselves to this precedent. They mention that Valkyrie, for example, has gone silent. She is presumed defeated and/or captured by the enemy. Yet we see her again guarding the portal at the end of Tin Mage.

Imagine: You, as a solo player, walk up to Apex. He says the main invasion needs 8 incarnates. You ask, surely there is some way you can help? He thinks, and says Valkyrie has gone missing during the invasion. Surely one or more incarnates can investigate that without much trouble.

Just saying, could be fun, and give soloers more content.

I would like to see some non-TF incarnate content (I like the TFs but story arcs are fun as well) and this does seem like a good hook to tie one to.

I agree, non-TF Incarnate content would be very, very good for the game. If it has to be a tie-in to existing TFs, that's better than nothing.

I think it's better than a totally unrelated story. We are at War here! All hands on deck kind of thing. I like the idea and would love to play something like that.

Sure, I can get with that. One storyline with multiple stories, both solo and team, to do with that storyline seems logical.

On the flip side, I hope the Praetorian war doesn't monopolise all content for years to come, so eventually we'll have to do something else. And to be honest, I'd rather not have every level of Incarnate content be some kind of crisis event or war or invasion or what have you. Let us be proactive for a chance and go start something, rather than always being invaded by everyone and their grandma.

Totally agree with you here. Although it's hard to justify starting something (assuming it's combat related, as the rest of the game is) as a hero. I would love to see us take the war to the Rikti though.

On the other hand, we have in-lore explanation for that. The Portal Corporation scientists have named our reality "Primal" Earth not just because they live here, but because according to their findings, we're a nexus among the multiverse. For example, we can easily reach Praetoria, Rikti Earth, and the Shadow Shard (and every other dimension you're sent to in the 40+ heroside content), but it's not quite so simple to jump between the Shard and Praetoria, or Rikti Earth to Axis America. Each dimension is capable of reaching multiple others, but our dimension has more possible connections than any of the others we've discovered.

Besides, the Coming Storm is still not here yet.

What I'm saying is that not everything has to be a crossover war. We have plenty of domestic villains that hatch plenty of domestic crimes which we could be fighting. It doesn't always have to be a full-scale war involving and requiring zillions of heroes. I'm perfectly happy stopping a Nemesis plot to kill 70% of the people on Earth, or a Malta conspiracy to flood the world with killer nanobots, or the Rikti's plot to reopen a large, stable gateway back to their home world or really anything of the sort.

I can see how they'd want every Issue to be one specific event (often with no foresight as to what to do with that two Issues down), but there's something to be said about adding to the static world and just expanding the game world as a whole. Not everything has to be "an event."
