    Sorry, try again Powers.
Better yet... Don''t. Don't try again.

    Single Blade set

Alt animations for Broadsword that don't work with Shield would be fine. I'd be totally in favor of those.
  3. I'd be okay with it as long as the accolade didn't DO anything. How about an account-wide badge for each AT you have at level 50, and power-less accolade when you have all 14? It'd be cool enough to encourage people to try but not so crazy as to make people feel it was a requirement for an uber character.
  4. So now you're talking about making a new character pretty much from scratch. You'd need to make it from square one in costume creator... How is this different from a Nemesis idea?
  5. Except many of the praetoreans DON'T have the same powers.

Ms. Liberty is a MA/Invul Scrapper. Dominatrix is a Gravity Control Dominator.

Manticore is a TA/Archery defender. Chimera is a Broadsword/SR scrapper.

On top of that, how would the outfit vary? There'd really be no way to make it make sense other than a simple pallet swap, and that would just look silly.

Rapier would be the ideal weapon for fighting a freakshow tank. Small point of impact designed for precise aiming would allow you to hit flesh more easily without the metal parts stopping you.
  7. Well the Skulls never really go away. They're a Nemesis plot.

As for the Hellions, yeah, that'd be cool. The Hellions accidentally summon some big bad that the heroes have to clean up.
  8. I blame you for twisting kittens into bracelets.

3K Kelvin, absolutely. If the Hellions start getting hit too bad, he shows up and starts tearing through Skulls. Contrariwise, if the Skulls start getting hit too bad, Marrow Snap and Marrow Drinker show up with a handful of other Bosses.
  10. I don't think Paragon City HAS a shopping mall. I think you need to drive over to Providence Place for that.
  11. Would there be any way to rework these two powers to not force redraw? It's not a huge drop to DPS when they occur, but it's just mildly annoying. It's certainly not a question of balance, or Weapon Sets would be overpowered on sets like Invul and Stone Armor whose redraw-requiring powers come up more rarely, or Willpower whose only clickies are the Rez and the Tier 9. Simply put, it's a mild annoyance when my /SR toons have to put their weapon away in order to keep their mez protection, and I'm not sure I understand why it's necessary, if it is at all.

Do others agree with me that this change would be good, is there some balance involved I'm not thinking about, or is it just an animation issue?

I think a lot of people don't really understand how fencing works, so they just think broadsword would cover this. Broadsword is slow and heavy. Fencing is fast and light.
I studied fencing for a while. So here's my quick, down and dirty fencing for scrappers set. Someone who cares more can clean it up. For those who don't want to look it up: Melee attacks in City are nearly always Range 7.

    "Fencing"
-Cut: Melee, Low Damage (Lethal), Range 9, Foe Slow
-Thrust: Melee, Moderate damage (Lethal), Range 11
-Parry: Melee, Moderate damage (Lethal), +Def Melee, Smashing, Lethal, Range 9
-Feint: Melee, Minor damage (Lethal), Range 11, +To Hit, +Damage, Foe Stun (5 sec)
    -Invitation (as Confront)
-Deflect: Melee, Moderate damage (Lethal), Range 9, +Def Ranged, Energy, Negative Energy
-Lunge: Melee, High Damage, Cone (20 degrees), Range 15
-Riposte: Melee, Extreme Damage (Lethal), Interrupt time 2.5 seconds, Range 11

Yes, it has no extra defense vs fire, cold, or psi. I figure it shouldn't pack AoE defense (because how are you going to stop an explosion with a rapier? Answer: You are not) and Fire/Cold is usually lumped in with AoE. As for Psi, well... It's Psi.

The basic idea here is that you've got Cut and Thrust to just attack with, Feint as a replacement build up that also adds a short Stun, and then Riposte as a finishing blow against the foes that can't hit you through your high defenses (or because they're stunned.) Yes, I know interrupt times are annoying, but I figure because Riposte here is the capstone, and because of its style, it should be doing a base of close to 300 damage. A proper riposte is a killing blow, after all.

ALternatively, instead of Feint, "Preparation" (As build up)

This set should be set up for superior Single Target damage. For soloing AVs, this should be the go-to set capable of blocking what's coming at you and fighting back with quick, painful blows. Against large groups, the rapier will quickly fall behind some other weapons, due to its near-complete lack of multi-target effects.

I'd say despite being one handed, you'd have to prohibit shields from it (you NEED to go into fencing poses to make it look right, which means left arm behind you and used for balance).

The unique ability would be /reach./ Fencing is about long weapons and holding them out. You'd have melee attacks with range 2-3 feet longer than other melee weapons because you're thrusting rather than slashing or smacking. Attacks would have different reaches with one, "Lunge" having a good 15 foot reach with an animation of you stepping forward, thrusting, and hopping back right afterward. Also stack on some slows or immobilizes in the form of MA-Style crippling attacks to take advantage of the reach.

It'd need an attack similar to parry, but also one to give Ranged defense, allowing you to effectively deflect blasts with your weapon, because that would be cool.

Another idea: An attack that gives you a +Def aura for a short time. parry for allies.

    New Accolade!

Maybe add Law Enforcer or Arachnos Agent as a requirement. Let us get a permanent power with some day job badges?
  15. ...Other than this sounding completely silly, I see no reason why not. If Ninjas are runtastic, let them be slotted for faster running and for the Stealth proc.
  16. Might I propose an easy, clean answer? Put Jetpack Quartermasters next to BAB, Ms. Liberty, and Kalinda. There. Let them buy jetpacks from level one. Don't change powers at all otherwise. This lets them know that there are alternate methods of travel powers early on. Or even just someone telling about the safeguard missions and that travel powers are rewards for the early ones. Just one NPC TELLING the newbs some of this stuff would make things a lot cleaner.
  17. How many unique sets are there anymore? Other than MM Primaries, Ice Armor and Ice Melee are the only ones I can think of. And a lot of Ice Melee is shared with Blaster and Dominator secondaries.

Maybe equal to a tier 2 attack or Sands of Mu.
Redraw's only a big issue for weapon sets. When used with any set that isn't a weapon set, you just factor the redraw into the weapon's DPA.

    New Accolade!

I'm for this. I would absolutely love more accolade powers, and random attacks as accolade powers would be flavorful without being too overpowering (assuming the attack isn't absolutely amazing).
  20. I was playing Vampire: The Masqurade Bloodlines, and one of the weapons you can get is a Fire Axe. If you go into sneak mode, sneak up behind someone, and hit attack, you plunge it into their back for an instant kill.

I want to be able to do that in City. Fire Axe Murderin' FTW! Signed!

...FASTER animation time? I don't think you understand how /immensely powerful/ Dark Miasma is. It's... amazing. Completely amazing. If you think any aspect of this set needs to be buffed, well... Why don't you go take a look at Trick Archery instead, then come back and tell me Dark Miasma has issues?

  23. Anything that allows us to have more costume parts is good. I'm all for this, but it seems like it's going to be a lot of work on the devs' parts keeping people from plastering things all over themselves that nobody wants to see, especially when you get costume pieces that look innocent alone but work together to create something awful.
  24. I blame you for Nemesis Vengeance.
