Well we are kind of in a tight spot here. First of all we can't advertise in Marvel comics (although, I think I did see an ad once) and DC has their own game coming out. On top of those facts, we also don't have our own comic on the shelves anymore, so regular advertisment is limited.

I have always said, the Zig is a giant paper weight in the middle of Bricks acting as a place holder for one badge. There is so much unused potential there.

Quote:I bet posting here can be like sticking your tongue on a 9V battery. It hurts the first time, but for some odd reason you do it twice.Reading the responses, I'd like to emphasize the word "should". I can't ever promise anything for sure, because there's a lot that goes into making an announcement. We want to get info to you guys, but at the same time we need to make sure any info we get to you is 100% correct. When we don't get it right you folks get rightly upset.
So to recap. We want to get you info, as soon as we possibly can. You guys want info, but you want the right stuff. We're working hard to get it to you, and as soon as we can we'll share more.
Thanks, -
I didn't see this in Paragon Wiki, but I was wondering if our fallen heroes and reformed villains would have access to the pools of the other side? Soo many posibilites arise if so.

My goodness! You would think they were giving away free money. The hype needle has officially hit 11.

Quote:This actually kinda goes to an idea I had for the whole "signature" powers: You take a power, with its slotting, but able to take it into a sort of 'personalized' enhancing area. You then can enhance it with two types of earnable (But not from drops) enhancers that allow the power to do very new/different things. (The earning part would either be through tasks or by leveling.)
First type:
Effect Enhancements
These would be the plus side. They do NOT work with other enhancements. They add new effects, and only off of the base power. So, do you want you single target blast to explode in an AoE? Or your kick attack to burn?
Second type:
Counter enhancements
These counter the first value with something to counter the new effect. You could not put in place an effect without choosing your counter. You want your debuff to also deal damage. Cool. But it will have to recharge slower, use more endurance, or use a slower animation. Or maybe even hurt you!
The more powerful/novel the effect, the stronger the counters needed. Adding simple damage might need only a light increase in endurance use. But making your punch explode in flames would need a lot of counters. Note: not all are an even one-to one.
As you level up, you get more slots to add effects and counters to your chosen power.
Ideas for effects/counters:
effects:
Add damage
Add range (for ranged only)
Add boost effect- to self (+damage, +health,+speed, +defense, etc.)
Add cone/AoE
Add duration (for boosts)
Add status effect
Add new damage type
Reduce activation (select a faster animation from a list)
Counters:
Increase endurance use
Increase recharge time
Increase activation (select a slower animation from a list)
Self +Debuff (character gets weakened some way from using the power)
Self +damage (character is harmed by using the effect)
Self +defeat (character dies using power)
Reduced range (range only)
Anywise, just a thought.
As the cool kids say, "Make it So!" -
The only issue is the restriction by origin and not the origin "theme" it seems. Like BB said, More Pools: good and thats it. Why not a dozen different pools? They're optional anyway.
-
I still hold out hope for a "Nemesis System" here in the regular game.

I say smater AI for AV, Heroes, and certain GM (those that are supposed to have some level of intelligence). I hate it when a 8-man team circles an AV and simply pounds them down until their hit points are gone. It looks absolutely rediculous, particulary for someone like Manticore when supposedly has no powers, but can take multiple hits from a Stone Brute. Imagine if he actually dodges everyones attacks and could counter with specialized arrows? If he know enough to go after the buff/debuffers first, then taunts and holds would literally save the team. I dont think minions, LTs, or Bosses reall need a new AI since they are cannon fodder for the real masterminds of the villain/hero groups.

Quote:It think you and I are seeing the sheer density of the content. I think (correct me if I am wrong) you see zone event-scale, where I am seeing something more along the lines of the street battles between the Council and the 5th, with the other things happening in locations where one would expect them to happen, ie a robbery at the jewelery shop, bank, or convenience store. There is a difference between Dynamic and Calamidic. For me, that would have translated into a "Holy crap that sucked!" moment, myself. Coming into a zone for a hunt mission only to discover it has been turned into a free-serving buffet for every Archvillain in the game except any from the cation I am hunting would not go over well with me, and would likely send me off to another zone to kick my heels, sit on my hands and eventually log out to play a better game. I've done just that during Zombie invasions of zones I need to hunt stuff in, and it never leaves me with a pleasant memory to take home.
In the purest sense, messing with places I need to work in or pass through does nothing for me other than cause an inconvenience and most likely a delay. I will not feel better and more alive for it, I will feel the same way I do when I drive into a intersection that has half a mile of traffic backed up against it so I have to sit on my *** for 10 minutes until I can even come within view distance of the light. It'll make me feel the same way I do when I arrive at work with a bunch of documents to work on and the power dies for two hours while they fix the apocalypse somewhere along the line. It will make me feel the same way I do every time I want to do something, but either can't or I have to jump through ten hoops just to get to it.
Where people see "dynamic content," I tend to see "PITA" in their descriptions of it. -
Quote:I always saw skills like travel powers, a variety of ways of getting from point A to point B. In the case of missions, it's not just being able to stealth a mission to completion, but finding different ways (non-combat) to complete a mission, while still getting the same credit as if you went the brut force route.I think the problem with a skills system would be making them useful, but not required - like what if you had no ability to hack, would you fail the computer hacking mission? Or would you still be able to hack it, but with some sort of penalty? And what would the penalty be? An ambush? Less XP?
While it wouldn't be a problem for teams - you'd just recruit someone with the hacking skill if you were doing that arc/mission - it would cause problems for solo players. -
I have to agree. Time to set loose the Dogs of War! Or at least the guys over in marketing. No one would blame you for flaunting what we have here that they are lacking (lord knows, that was their entire business plan over there). Time to kick um where it hurts!
-
Not to thread-jack my own thread, but you ever wonder how much of the original person is left after they are turned int Tarantulas?
-
The solution is Dynamic Content (tm)! This game needs to feel like it's in motion, like everytime you log in, you are jumping into the action! In open zones, there should be turf wars, bank robberies, car chases, shootouts, etc. and in instanced missions, NPC should be actually DOING SOMETHING and not standing around in the same predetermined positions. The results of your actions in missions should have more of an effect that just "Oh well, we'll just get another hero to do it". No that I think there should be some form of tangible penalty, but when it comes to story arcs, failing a mission could be the difference between completing the arc the easy way or the hard way. The game should seem to change everytime you log in and in that, never feel repetitive.

This is mostly for Red-Side, but I was thinking since we are a little more "liberal" with the idea of killing our foes, how about the occasional faction-specific death animations? For example, fighting a Skul that is high enough to have black magic powers, such as a Bone Daddy, when defeated, tentacles rise from the ground and drag him down. Or when fighting a Damned, upon his defeat, a flaming demon hand reaches up and grabs him and they both go up in flames. I dont think it should happen with every defeat, but one in three or so would mix things up a bit.
-
I wouldnt mind having Mako's PPP on hero-side though and a few more placed to swim under water.
-
I would like a little more evil on the Red Side. I want the detention cells in Arachnos bases full of innocent people, I want the down-trodden to look even more miserable than they would in Paragon. I want people snatched by the various baddies and actually converted (ie CoT, Coralax, Lost, etc). I want to see Arachnos soldiers actually laying the smack-down on any villain groups that get outta line like Longbow in Atlas. I would like some environmental dangers that appear from time to time, like lava from Mt. Diablo, or whirlpools off the coast of Sharkshead. Overall, I am beginning to feel that Red-Side is just Blue-Side with a different narrative and color scheme.

Only if they bring back Apex And Horus!

There are three Statesmen, two of which have eyes on taking over the world. I have a feeling Lord Recluse and crew are about to go into Critical Alert Status, 'cause three Statesmen is two Statesmen too many (maybe even three too many)!

Quote:My point is... is there a point to searching by LFT flags anymore? I get about the same success rate from asking non-teamed people who aren't flagged as searching for a team as those who ostensibly are. At least there's more of them.
I leave my flag up and make a knote to state no blind invites (which I get anyway), but I like to "Screen My Calls" as it were. No I dont want to do charity work (PL), Farm (AE or otherwise), or a Posi TF (burrr). My point is that I shouldn't feel obligated to accept any invite that comes along just because I am looking. -
Ya think thats cool, here are some in 3-D http://www.geeks3d.com/20091116/expl...lbrot-fractal/ Now thats trippy!
