NPC Death Animations

This is mostly for Red-Side, but I was thinking since we are a little more "liberal" with the idea of killing our foes, how about the occasional faction-specific death animations? For example, fighting a Skul that is high enough to have black magic powers, such as a Bone Daddy, when defeated, tentacles rise from the ground and drag him down. Or when fighting a Damned, upon his defeat, a flaming demon hand reaches up and grabs him and they both go up in flames. I dont think it should happen with every defeat, but one in three or so would mix things up a bit.

While I'm okay with this idea for certain villains. Not all villains kill.

My main redside villain, RaveSpider, is a more in the vain of Cat Woman & Black Cat. A professional theif (who possibly dabbles in the heroics).

Note, this isn't to say Cat Woman or Black Cat haven't or can't kill. But you get my point.

Not only that, if it did get implemented, I'd keep it to the no name minions/lts.

This is more than just for RP reasons...but I find it funny when someone says "yeah, we killed Lord Recluse" when...OMG...he's still around, and still planning havoc.

So, you figure while who ever's character defeated Recluse. That's about as far as it got. Defeated. Not outright killed.

Well, considering Tarantulas are people in cyber suits and they explode... Why not?

I'm not sure I'd be a fan of this being done for a lot of enemies, though, as ragdolls are actually a LOT of fun to play around with and these animations block ragdolls entirely. I can't tell you how many times I've been irritated that I can't knock that Carnie back over a cliff on the last hit because she has to clutch her head and scream. Strong Men don't seem to have that problem, after all.

Generally, as a rare occurrence on the occasional boss, I don't have a problem with this. And while I'm aware that not every hero or villain kills, this isn't necessarily a kill so much as it is a self-disposing villain, which tends to be a plot device used as a way to kill off a villain without actually having the hero kill him. I think Vash the Stampede made a career out of not-killing killing his enemies.

I'm not sure there is much of the person's body in that suit.

There is enough of a person's mind in them, though.

On a different note, Becky, the Tarantula Queen would like to have a word with you. She didn't say what it was about.

Not to thread-jack my own thread, but you ever wonder how much of the original person is left after they are turned int Tarantulas?
