A Bad Day at the Beach (Open RP)
Amy growls and struggles for a moment before the telepathic soothing kicked in, she was naturally unresistant to mental attacks and so the calming waves washed over her mind as she ceased to struggle, letting out a deep breath. He eyes returning back to normal and her muscles returning to their not quite so buldging state.
"Sorry, I'm fine...you can put me down now..."
Kip shook his head. He didn't get the need of the vigilantes who'd just shown up in the aftermath to berate the heroes who'd acted in time to save lives and punish the beast.
However, the lobotomy was harsh. The creature had not only lost its ability to emit harmful psychic assaults and manipulate the world around it through telekinesis, it had lost its ability to survive on its own.
He turned to Tiger White and floated closer to her.
"Hey," he said in as even a tone as he could manage, "I... Just... I'm sorry I got so heated. I didn't realize somebody had punched through the beast's foot-thick skull and punctured the brain. I... I haven't done anything like that to anybody... Personally. I didn't realize the damage was so extensive."

She nods towards the whale as they approach. "And look what happened here. A unique creature, the likes of which this world has never seen before, reduced to little more than a lump of meat because someone didn't realise. Okay, sure it was trying to hurt people, sure it HAD to be stopped, but is this how we do things? Really? Who the hell made us judge, jury and executioner, eh?"
She stopped dead in the sand, and glanced back at Zero. "I've been doing this job now for four and a half years, and that guy has to be one of THE most reckless idiots I've ever come across. In fact, there's only ONE person I can think of that's worse."
She reached up to her collar and pressed a concealed stud. There was a metallic whispering sound as the plates of her armour contracted and folded in on themselves, dissapearing in a couple of seconds into a collar, bracelets, a waist band and a pair of anklets, leaving a slender woman in a light pink tee, red jeans and of course, her long tail.
"Luckily, SHE doesn't hero much anymore."

Sue lowers Amy to the ground, job done, Good, and do you see there Mr No-Identity-of-your-own she said as she turned to face Zero, She came up and threatened you and here I was able to solve it without lobotomising her, amazing what you can do with a little thought isnt it?
"Voy!" Acid gave a shout, hoping to interrupt the argument. With palms turned upward and spread fingers holding air, he interjected, "Would yalls chill already? Seriously. In case you haven't noticed, the guy's imitating an anime character. A very violent one. Do yalls really expect to convince him? You'd probably need a shrink for that. Actually, you'd probably need a whole bunch."
"Okay, so." he thumbed out to sea before anyone could respond, truly feeling that basic logic should support his assertion, "How about focusing on the matter at hand? No one here can repair brain damage, okay. Does anyone know somebody who can...?"

Richie kept his distance, a hand in one jacket pocket, and a can of some dirt-cheap brand cola in the other, something he had pulled from Thin Air after chucking the megaphone back in. Watching the bickering, he quietly muttered to himself, before pulling his mobile out.
"Well, unless someone's got a better idea, I think I could give someone I reckon -might- be able to a bell." He piped up in response to Acid. "Can't guarantee owt, mind."
Sam: "My mind is a swirling miasma of scintillating thoughts and turgid ideas."
Max: "Me too."

Zero stood unflinchingly as the hulking woman advanced toward him, threatening with thinly veiled hatred, and stood equally unflinchingly when she finally backed down, having been mentally coerced to forgo her pursuit.
"Radicalism and recklessness are not the same thing. I'm certain the citizens whose lives I saved would not label me so."
And then Acid spoke, insulting his heroic and, possibly, copyright infringing, identity. He pouted yet again behind the helmet, muttering something along the lines of, "Zero's not violent... Suzaku, sure, but not Zero..."
He, of course, made certain not to let anyone else hear this statement, and merely remained silent during the negotiations of what to do with the whale now. He'd done his job, and had nothing useful to contribute otherwise.
Scanning the surface of the ocean, M221 was able to devote some processing power to replaying the fight, analzying the damage done to its hardware. Though mostly self restored at this point, the massive robot reconfigured its combat settings to favor its as of yet undamaged side.
It spent no more time contemplating the events of before, actions had been taken and people were too busy being emotional for further discussion to be productive. If they reported him, they would. If not, then they wasted their time arguing about it. Principals required action, or it was nothing more than talk.
Spotting Vox, M221 waved at the hero, "Did you find anything in relation to the psychic whale?"

"Go for it." Acid gave a shrug at Riche as he knelt down and licked the small claw of his index finger, "Can't hurt, right?"
Then he began to draw in the sand. Well, not draw exactly, but the equation would end up fairly long and in several paragraphs, not to mention not utilize any symbol of human mathematics...

Vox hands the syringe over to M221.
"I think so, and you're just the person I was looking for. Are you able to scan this for fingerprints and check them against police files? There's a whole bunch of scientific crap on a small island back where I came from."

She look at Kip as she walked. "Call me Ellie, by the way. Sorry I had a go at you earlier, but well... I kinda have a bit of a short fuse... Comes from being part cat, I think."

"Heh, I've got a short fuse, too," Kip replied with a short chuckle, "Normally I vent on people who've got it coming... Like Council troops. Look, if you find out anything, give me a call at this number..."
He told her his base's number and explained somebody was usually available to answer the phone.
"We're called 'Grey's Army.' We've got some... Unaffiliated friends who stay in our headquarters when they're back from abroad. They should be able to get your message to me. If there's anything required, space for a ritual, spell components, anything... I'm willing to help."

M221 gingerly took the syringe into its massive hands. There was a whirr of hyrdaulics as M221's large metal hands handled this small device with utmost care.
"I will attempt to scan it for identifying marks."
The green diode on M221's chest flashed as a faint beam of light emitted from it. Holding the needle up to the light, M221 began to build a 3d model of it in its databanks, down to the oils on its surface.
With that completed, the robot reached for a panel on its hip, and retrieved an evidence bag. Dropping the syringe inside, it handed the syringe back to Vox. "Evidence logged. Compiling. Sending packets."
"The data you have requested is being worked on. If you do not mind, I will travel to this island and start taking photographs and chemical samples. If you wish to begin another avenue of investigation or take the evidence to another tester, I will message you the results when the task is completed."

Looking up at the whale, a pale light glittered in her eyes as she used some extra senses on him. "I'm not even sure if it'll be possible to restore him... His whole bio-electrical field in skewed, with a dark patch around his brain... Last time I saw damage like that..." She trailed off, the implications clear.

"That's why I recommended magic," Kip shrugged, "It's never perfect, but I've seen it get people back into working order... It got me back into working order more than a few times, and I don't just mean getting picked back up off the floor after getting my butt kicked..."
His communicator started beeping and he looked down. It was his girlfriend, waiting in the car and wondering why his argument was taking so long.
"Oh shoot... One second..." he turned aside and started talking into the device, "Hey, Cath, things calmed down... The whale's been injured in the fighting, not just subdued, and we're still looking to see what caused this whole mess... Yes, I apologized... Okay..."
He turned back to Tiger White.
"Hey, again, I'm sorry about yelling back there. I've fought a lot of monsters down alongside a lot of heroes. I'm not used to getting berated for it, and I didn't know somebody had stabbed into Krill's brain."
He turned back to the communicator.
"Babe, we're not done yet, so... I think today's turning into a work day. You know where the keys are if you want to just go home, or you can come back down here and help us sort things out. Yes, I've calmed down. No, I'm not mad at you. No, you were right, I overreacted... Uh-huh. Okay. I'll see you in a little bit."
Turning off the communicator, he returned his attention to Tiger White.
"Okay... So, island to the north? I guess that means we should head out there and find out what the junk is."

She looked back at the whale. "Myself, I'm planning to stick around until the people from the zoo get here, then I need to be getting back to MY business... I was on the way to the Etoile Islands..."

Amy coughed and looked at both Kip and Ellie, taking a giant leap to catch up with them "we could get my dad involved...yeah I know it sounds like a bad idea but...well..you know...nanite technology being used to rebuild neural pathways and the like...oh and cat-like hearing does have it's advantages, could hear you from way over there..."
Amy looked pretty unsure herself of the suggestion but she thought it was worth a shot.
She looked at Kip and sighed, "I'm sorry I nearly pounded your face into the ground...just...don't call me a hippie, it's one of those buttons that you don't want to be pushing with me..."
Acid looked up a moment as Kip mentioned Grey's Army. How interesting. He didn't look like much, but then...one just never knew, did one? At least judging by what he'd heard from a certain first-hand source, there was no way he could judge the book by its cover on this one.
"I don't see why not." he shrugged in response to Amy's suggestion as he completed the calculation's first draft, "If someone can help, give 'em a holler."
"And what about this someone you know?" he asked of Tiger White, replacing a few elements of the equation paragraph, "I kind of invited a Summoner over, and he really is pretty good at his job. If you can describe where this person is, I'm sure he can get her here. It'd definitely be a lot simpler than this. Plus I'm pretty sure he'd like it more because I wouldn't have to root around in his implant..."

Sue crossed her arms over her chests, hair wafting in a self made breeze that no one else could feel unless they were uncomfortably close, working on getting herself dry.
No Amy Sue stated in a voice now completely devoid of her previous rage, I dont think getting your father involved is a good idea at all, and as for magic? Sure you might be able to heal his body, but his mind? Thats something else entirely

"Yeah... hello? Could I speak to Miss Longstaff? Look, I don't care, just transfer me to her already. No, I really don't. No, I would not like to volunteer for experimentation, and I'm flamin' insulted you even asked. Fine, I'll hold. You can pay for this call yourself, like."
Richie simply stood, arms crossed, phone to ear, waiting impatiently.

The Khelari glanced at Ellie with narrowed, disappointed-looking eyes as he stood. With a very dispassionate tone, he remarked, "You know, sometimes you people just amaze me."
He didn't explain what he meant by that, instead turning out to sea and giving a shout and a wave to the General still on the whale. He got his attention almost immediately, and it didn't take but a few seconds for him to fly over and land beside them.
"We need help." Acid told the Summoner, "I'm going to need your warp implant."
Kauruk's eyes went wide with shock, the Cerosian taken more than aback, "You want to do what?"
"Relax." the reptilian retorted casually, holding up a hand, "My skin's a germ's worst nightmare. Besides, you've got that deal with the deal, so I don't think you can even get infections."
"Say wha-no! I mean..." Kauruk spent a few moments finding words, "What're you even trying to do?"
"Get help." was the curt, very factual answer, "I'm going to need you to open a gate to the Thousand-Sun World."
The General's purple scales became just a tad pinkish at this, the equivalence of a human going pale. He spoke breathlessly as he shook his head in disbelief, "...I...Ace, I...I can't do that. Three hundred thousand light years? That...way too far."
"No, you can." the Khelari remained steadfast, yet relaxed, indicating the equation in the sand. The Summoner stared at it for several long seconds.
"I don't get it." he finally said, prompting a smirk from the reptilian.
"I know." he said self-evidently, "That's why I need your implant. It gets it. I need to tell it what to get."
"You can't do that from out there?"
"Nope."
Kauruk shifted nervously, looking back and forth between the Khelari and the equation, an uneasy lick of his lips accompanying the response, "There's really no other way? I mean...of course I'm not scared. It's just...I'm really ticklish, and...have you ever even performed surgery?"
"No." Acid shrugged unceremoniously, "But I watch House a lot..."

Kipland chuckled a little as Tiger White recommended he simply leave the scene with his girlfriend.
"Nah, she was ticked at me getting into another argument. Frankly, she loves her job here... But I shouldn't speak for her. Suffice it to say, there's no problem with helping in the rest of the investigation."
She looked at Kip and sighed, "I'm sorry I nearly pounded your face into the ground...just...don't call me a hippie, it's one of those buttons that you don't want to be pushing with me..." |
