I think I've done 1 mission whilst in the PvP areas as my stalker to answer that for you...
And yes I do see the hatred against Stalkers.. Sort of.
I find most of it is because we have an extremely powerful frontal attack, but they don't see it is basically the only Archetype-based power we have. Blasters have Snipes, Tankers have valiant Resistance/Defence, Scrappers get their regular criticals, and so forth. Simply, Assassination is a Stalker's main feat.
EDIT: Not directed at anyone in peticular, but just to point out as alot of whinging PvPers won't take the simple fact in.

I totally agree witht eh stalker part of that post, it seems that most of the moaning is regards stalkers doing what they do e.g. stalking and Stormies hurricaine - dont forget they get a load of other powers I think are better (darn me for deleting mine *sobs*)
I said this before stalkers snaeking up and using AS is what they do, defenders heal/debuff, controllers & dominators hold etc etc the list goes on. You wouldnt ask a blaster to go toe to toe and a stalker wont either. (yeah ok a blapper might but this is a generalisation)
I dont think their overpowered in any way and they are flattenable you just gotta learn how....
Lol wish i hadnt deleted mine too... Ill/Storm would have been good in PvP 
But alas thats the way of PL'd toons they get boring then deleted (yes i PL'd that troller in Dreck for Hammi, i dont care
