You know of course that standing in the zone having ice cream is not the best thing..one rule about PvP zones is always be on the move or you are priority target cause you stand skill...Basic survival skills. You lose them then forget about it.Always being on the move reduces the chances of an AS since it gets interrupted. You not need to go around like a rabbit but just be hyperactive more than usual is necessary.

[/ QUOTE ]

Hard to move aroudn when you have to stay still to fire and things (sniper rifle being the worste one :P). As for moving helping well it certainly does to a degree, the problem with assassin strike is they don't have to stay next to you for the duration of the attack, certainly they can't move but I can and it doesn't help (yes yes I've played a stalker and can somehow hit things that are easily over 15ft away with AS as long as I've started the attack when they are close). Now if there was a range check just before it hit that would be brilliant.

I have not tried AS in pvp (I'd feel too dirty to play a stalker now ) but in pvm I found it true that i can AS people from far away once I have a lock, I could of course be wrong about this in pvp.

You are wrong. AS has a certain time (short but is still there) which requires you to stand still in order for it to land. Move with ss or vertically up and you interrupt AS. Its the easiest thing to do ever. Also remember when pvp dont blast loud music from speakers cause you might want to hear that huge sound that come pre AS strike and is actually the best way to avoid it. Its extremely easy to avoid AS strikes like that.

As for the OP about being targetted and killed repeatedly by same person/people. I am a squishy corruptor, I do pretty poor damage, but I do an awful lot of debuffing, which makes me distintly persona non grata in the zone. I know the heroes are gonna try gank me given even a sniff at half a chance. But thats the game. Move around, or talk to folks, find out what works. Talin is really helpful and approachable and was quite happy to chat about builds, stalk-obot was the same. Most folks if you ask for advice wil help After all, is much more fun hunting tricky opponents. Oh and just to give you an idea, I can get 1 shotted by a MA scrapper if they crit

This is absolutely true...What certainly distincts really good PvPers is target prioritizing. Anything that effects the team as a whole or has really high chances disrupting the tactics and strategies a PvP team functions under automatically is set as priority target and communicated within the team. Corruptors that are key elements of a well build villain team with buffs like kinetics (like Flick is) and shileds and dmg acc buffs and debuffs of accuracy are actually significant tactical targets within a PvP zone. The damage dealers unfortunately/fortunately will always come 2nd regarding threat level since its well understood that even the best and most destructive weapon is useless without its support team that fuels it. Cut down support and u get any opponent to his knees. Thats one element highly ignored right now within the PvP zones and makes it really easy for well organised PvPers to just make it like a walk in the park.Once people realise that things will get more interesting.

Yup i understand wat ure sayin about there being plenty of ways around it but there's nothing worse than a stalkers who hates u following you around and killing u and just not leaving u alone

lol trust me there are a lot worse things out there. And since there are so many ways to avoid it it certainly isnt that bad.Shape up take a deep breath and try harder..Poor stalkers aint that bad as they sound to be

Afraid not TG, if i get next to someone and activate AS and then they jump away they just get a time delayed impaling, the power is interuptable but not by moving once activated. I can also hit you whilst you are moving but this is trickier, only I need to be stationary to activate it. As for sound, I also negate that by having my spines out before i approach so my attack is silent.

Im afraid not, only powers that actually boost your perception will help you in this way.

Have to say the only real issue I have had, was a hero in the villain hospital, killing as folks respawned there. Tho the issue was more with it not being in the spirit of the game rather than anything else. Brick if you wanna test some of your powers tho, see how they work etc, I can come to a quiet area of the zone with you and you can try stuff out. Or if you want to check about AS stuff I can run my stalker over so you can test bits. Eg what you need to see a stalker, what they look like/sound like etc. Just send me a tell in game.

Regarding the AS...by interrupt i mean actually that u need to keep moving to interrupt the chance of being AS. Regarding the sound you are true but still nothing extra perception and AoE's dont solve....

Ah sorry

As for movement, its quite a satisfying kill to stand in the path where a hero is running and when he comes past to click AS like mad, its hard to do but not impossible to tag a runner in this way

PBAOEs negate AS (untill a friendly Domminator/Corrupter hold you ) but I normally float negating the effectiveness of ground based ones such as scrappers normally have.

I got SJ as I have seen other stalkers use it to great effect and fly is just to dam slow for a quick get away. But it dose bug me that people think your cheating when you in jump using hide AS strike some one and then jump out its like telling a controller he can use his holds.

That isn't what he means, Tainted. AS has a long time, about 5 seconds in which you must not move or it interrupts. However, the target can move as much as it likes during that period, once you start the strike, your target is nailed.

This is why 'constant movement' is about the weakest defense there is against a Stalker. No one actually moves around all the time, and it just takes a few seconds of standing still to get nailed.

You may be interested to note I got my first PvP action yesterday. Someone tried to take me out on the way into a mission door while I was waiting for some friends. I think he missed, but when I turned and attacked him, he ran off. So, so far PvP hasn't been too exciting.

Oh, there was the Brute that ran away when I was heading to a mission door, then tried to attack us as we went in. We couldn't have responded, I assume he was hoping to kill someone as they went through the door without any resistance.

Hmmm, my opinion of PvPers is going downhill quite fast.

yeah i know what u mean this happens a lot...i understand people to run away after the battle tide is against them cause they are on low health but running away cause u miss is a bit funny unless its a stalker which is within their tactics. Hopefully u ll see some larger scale combat which can be really really fun

I find flying does work also but its bot so much before the fight its when ure in the fight they STALK u
lol

Damn flying stalkers.... There I was lurking around the BB smokestack at the Vs base, watching to see if anyone wanted to talk safe in the knowledge that I was hovering 100s of yds in the sky safe from stalkers.

Why did I even think that??!
Talk about shocked when the big AS flashed on the screen lol, and to make matters worse the only stalker I could see was down in the base..So I then spent an hour running in terror from the stalkers with their ranged AS....must have looked funny to who ever was lurking behind me invis lol.

Raven Pls dont take this the worng way but all your post about PvP are negative how would you like it If I started going to the Galaxy Girl Theard and started saying that the role playing sucks there.

Yes there are idots in the PvP zone and you have a choice if you dont want to get attacked dont go there. But your constant moaning about PvP is really starting to get on my nerves people respect the role players and let them get one with what they do it would nice if you showed the same curtesy to use.

Well Wingy only says his own personal experience from PvP and the threads going around. You cannot possibly say the same about RPing without trying first as well.

It is a fact that the start of PvP zones was hard but things seem to settle down and people to adopt...so there is still time to judge something that is WIP

I have been to galaxy girl a few times but its not for me I didnt feel the urge to post about it and moan. I guess Im just an old fashioned pen and paper role player but I dont really do it any more as I dont know any one else that dose.

Well, if you said that (i.e. it's not for you) I'd say "fine, it isn't for everyone, not even me at times." If you come out and just say it sucks, I'd argue. Had this discussion with KlGrAn recently, in fact.

As for PvP, well, my posts are negative because I see a lot of negative stuff from PvP. I've listed my PvP experiences (in CoH) and I'd say they were pretty negative ones, wouldn't you?

I've also stated that I quite enjoy a bit of friendly PvP, and eventually I'll get around to letting FFM have a go at War Crow in the Arena... and that's just it, my PvP 'needs' would be adequately met by the Arenas, and I feel those were an unwanted addition to the game that are largely underused. In short, a waste of development effort.

And I'm oddly happy Warburg exists. It got me out of the big hole that was content in the late 30s. I farmed Warburg for the xp because the other methods were painfully slow. I can't help but think that PvP isn't an adequate control for amount of xp available from missions there and that they'll have to cut the bonuses down a bit. Perhaps as things develop it will get tougher. I hope so, as my avatar suggests, I've had enough of 'nerfs'.

Just out of interest, do the people in there for the PvP ever actually do the missions?

PS. If you have a spare moment and the inclination, PM me about GG. I'd be interested to know if anything in particular put you off. Not trying to get you to come if you don't like it.

Yeah I do the missons in the pvp zones give me some thing to when Im hunting heros and the XP rocks. I also have had some very bad times in PvP but I just suck em up and carry on as I will be buggerd if im gonna let some bullys ruin my day. And I also refuse to talk about em as that means that it has got to me and they get the extra thrill of seeing me complian on the forums.
