The hooded figure smiled and walked over.

"Well I guess my identity can't remain secret for long.."

With that he too went into the waterfall, in his boxers.

He wasn't that old, barely 23. He was actually a handsome guy.

But surely someone would recognize he was no hero. At least not now.

Static Therapy was once a hero. Then he had joined Arachnos, gotten put in the Zig, borken out, and secretely been undercover for Longbow for the past year. That was of course still secret.

Jack followed the Sensei.

"May I ask something sensei? Do you not think that the boys and girls will... develop romantic attractions to each other over there?"

(Just asking the obvious man.

Jake smiled as he made his way to a hotspring, stripping and leaping in.

"Whoooo! This hits the spot!"

(OOC: Uh, weren't the Tempest guys left back in a forest clearing? And the spring is cold, waterfall=coldspring)

((Why is this thread seeming to me more and more like Final Fantasy A+?))

"On no, this night is not for resting." the Tempest master agreed, "Mr. Ryuu, do be so kind and instruct them in the endurance trial."

"I'd be delighted." Hotaka grnned devilishly, snapping his fingers. His Jounin knew what to do, dragging sturdy bamboo poles to the site and anching them firmply between the rocks, making ti amost impossible to knock them over.

"Waziri," he instucted the one carring some large wrapped object on his back, "bring us water. Katashi, bring us tea..."

While the others swam about the water, Yuri stepped into the water(a shallow spot) and untied her hair which was tied behind her. She began scrubbing the grime from her skin and hair. Although the water was very cold, it felt really nice on her feet which she had been walking, running, jumping and fighting on for the last two and a half weeks. Finally relaxing a bit, her eyes began to wonder to the others also splashing around beneath the waterfall. “We’re going to be peers for the next.....who knows how long and I don’t even remember their names,” she said aloud while rubbing her feet beneath the cool waters.

Kagura was pretty much just dog paddling around. Cold water didn't seem to bother her, and neither did the fact that she was completely naked.
She noticed Yuri sitting along and gauged her expression.
If ya see someone sad, try ta cheer em up! Ya could make a new friend! Kagura remember Reishi's words from just a few days ago. Reishi used a lot of words, clear words, words with meaning. Kagura had known people with fake words, words with holes in them and lacking in strength. Reishi wasn't like that, everything she said held weight, had some meaning. Reishi didn't like lying, and Kagura appreciated it.
Following her mentor's advice, she paddled over to the girl sitting alone and held out her hand.
"I'm...Kagura," she said shakily, "Who are you?"

Jing Lei hesitated for a moment. The only person she allows to call her by her real name was the one who gave it to her, her adopted father and teacher. After Ian gave her the nick name ‘Yuri’ it just stuck and anyone she ever trained with called her that. “You can call me Yuri,” she said with a warm smile. “Are you cold?” Yuri asked, wondering why the girl introduced herself so shakily.

Posted

"No," she replied, "Nervous."

Posted

"Nervous? About what?" Yuri inquired. If Kagura was brazen enough to go around the wilderness naked, what would make the gril nervous?

Posted

"People," was all Kagura said.

"Hotaka," Xander began as he shifted the staff from his shoulder, "Since you seem to administering the Endurance Trail. I will take my leave until the morrow. Reishi care to join me for dinner?"

Posted

"Sure," Reishi said, "I could use some clothes too if it's not too much trouble."

Posted

"Should I provide you with the colors of the Tempest or shall you wear the colors of the Mountain?" Xander asked, bemused.

"Neither, of course," Reishi said, "Bring me MY robes!"

"I will bring them out, whether you get them or not is another matter," Xander chuckled, giving her a sly smile.

"Very funny," Reishi said, "By the way, how's Xiao Ran doing? She should be about 16 now..."

"Very well." Hotaka smiled, "Have fun, you two."

It didn't take long for Waziri and Katashi to return. One carried a large barrel of water and wooden buckets, the other a humongous steaming pot and quite a few fine china cups.

"Alright," Hotaka began, turning to the students, "do I really need to explain what you're supposed to do, or do you get the general idea?"

As he said this, the Jounin set their loads down and began pouring - water into the buckets, tea into the cups. there were twice as many buckets as cups, and the excercise was really quite simple: stand on the bamboo pole for as long as you could while holding two buckets of water with outsreatched arms, one in each hand. As an additional challence, the tea cup would be placed on your head, and it was to remain there for the duration. If a single drop was spilled, time was called...

“People?” Yuri quirked. “Why is that? You don’t seem like someone that would be shy. Training should build strength, health and self esteem. Why would you be shy? Or do you just not like meeting new people?”

Light Strike was surprised at how hard it was as he got ready to start the challenge.

"Anyone here watch Survivor? I got solid bets down that none of the guys on that show could out do any of us at this kind of a trial." With that he stood there smiling on the bamboo pole.

He focused his mind. Yes he was tired, but he wouldn't fall asleep at the switch. No, he'd just focus a part of his mind, the part that was easily distracted, to solving a very long arithmatic problem while the other part of his mind focused on balance.

"Alone...always," Kagura said, "Master...teach, Reishi...teach. But...alone."

Gerden grinned. This challenge would be easy. A special technique of the Raptor School, called the Perching Eagle, would help here. He stood astride the bamboo pole with buckets in each hand and teacup on his head, and focused a small amount of his chi into his muscles, just right, to lock them in place. As long as his concentration went uninterrupted, he could stand, locked in place, for nearly 36 hours (and he had tested this once, just for fun). The use of his chi was minimal, after the initial surge to lock his muscles in place.

Megumi frowned at learning that Master Halven was serious, but after looking around, she saw that no one else seemed to be having any real problems with it, so she dove in, fully clothed. After hearing the conversation between Kagura and "Yuri," she said plainly to Kagura, "That may be true, but there are gonna be a lot of people around from now on, so you'd better get used to it."

Posted

"I...know," Kagura said glumly.

Posted

"I didn't mean to upset you," Megumi replied. "And I don't think that being surrounded by people is a bad thing, especially here. If the group we've already met is any indication, I think you'll get to like it here. The sooner you ditch the agoraphobia, the happier you'll be."

Jake just shrugged, "I saw this crap in a Bruce Lee movie once, I did this stuff for trainin with pipes and bricks, the tea can't add that much new."

With that he hopped onto the pole with the buckets and teacup in place, he knew he could maintain this for about a day before needing to focus his energy, then he could go for just under two days.
