"So," Light Strike felt chatty, "anyone seen any good movies lately?"

Jake smiled, his body adapting to the venom and allowing him to go back to his normal, light-hearted, self.

"Not really bro, I busted some Skulls in front of a poster for Nightmere City, that thing any good?"

(OOC: And uh, in case anyone was confused, the two schools are undergoing their 'training' separately at this point.
i.e. Jake and the other tempest students are nowhere near the bevvy of naked or nearly naked girls occupying the waterfall spring.)

Light Strike smiled.

"I watched that thing twice. Pretty good flick."

Talking about the movie allowed his subconscious mind to finish up killing off the teacher's poison.

Jake just nodded as his own mutant regeneration powers finished off the venom. "So, the whole ninja look, that just for show or you really some super stealthy blade user?"

"So, do any of ya enjoy sports other than martial arts?" she asked.

[/ QUOTE ]

"Sadly we had nothing of that sort at the temple," Yin answered. "I am always eager to learn new skills though. Do the Temples have such things?" He hadn't really thought about what kinds of differences there would be between this school and his old temple.

"To be honest the whole thing is for show. Sure I'veg to martial arts, but I'm part mutant, and the mutant part is super tough and can regenerate."

Jake nodded at Light.

"I'm the same way actually, my mutie blood lets me heal quick and my Satyr hooves help me kick-box."

With that, obviously just to show off, Jake jumped up, kicked the air, and lands perfectly on the pole again, teacup only slightly ajar but not spilled.

(( Why do I feel like.... just.... drinking tea?))
Light Strike smiled. Back where he was from Jack and he would have been shunned. It was surprising how things change.....

"Very nice. How long do you think we are gonna sit aruond here like this?"

Reishi was rather taken aback.
"So you've never played soccer? Or dodgeball? Or baseball? Jeez!" she exclaimed.
"Perhaps you should teach them, Reishi?" Ran suggested.
Reishi grinned.

"No, I've never participated in any of those activities," Yin admitted, looking a little warily at Reishi's grin. He hadn't known her for that long, but he already knew that this particular expression was most likely NOT beneficial to the recipiant.

"Well, when you kids are finished with your bath, meet on the Third Mountain Field. It's the one with the white lines. We're playing soccer!" Reishi said, "And don't worry about the validity towards your training. You'll understand when you get there."

Jake shruged "I dunno, but I don't plan on fallin first. Maybe Bruce Lee over there will just call it a tie."

“Uhg!” Yuri sighed, “I can’t be wasting energy on useless games. If I have to grow my own food, I’ll have to scavenge for at least a week before I grow anything and with what little energy I have I need to conserve for the real training.” Although disapproving of the whole situation, she pulled her clothes from the branches and left toward this field without waiting for another word. Her clothes were still damp so she just carried them.

((Sorry guys, this just aint working out. Peace out yall!))

Wack Jack looked down at his toolbelt.

"Master, I need to depart. I am really sorry but it is extremely important."

Wack Jack ran back out the way he'd gotten in.

Light Strike and Static Therapy did similar, each with their own problems.

((Best way I could get them outta there.))

((Alright if I'm the only tempest this won't be fun, gonna switch sides))

Jake rolled his eyes as all the others left, he hopped off the pole, letting the cup shatter and the buckets tumble. "Yo Bruce Lee, when ya get some others, call me until then I'm joinin the Mountain squad. With that he darted away to the Mountain people in their water, shucking his jacket off and diving in.

"Yo people, come to see what the lighter side is like."

(OOC: I have a better idea. For now keep doing what you were doing til after the soccer game. This idea will work out a little better given our small numbers and give me a wee bit more control over what's happening.)

Nodding to Reishi, Yin rinsed off once more before hopping out of the water. He spent a few minutes giving his robes a generous shaking to clear them of the dust of travel. By the time he'd finished most of the water on him had dried, so he began slipping his clothes on. His sneakers were stowed away in his pack, being used mostly for the long walk here.

Eager to learn any skill that anyone was willing to teach him, Yin headed off in the direction Reishi had indicated.

OOC: Gerden is still Tempest...

Later at the field...
"Ok guys...this is a soccer field," Reishi indicated the field, "And this is a soccer ball."
Reishi held up a soccer ball and twirled it on her finger.
"This ball is rather unique," she said, dropping it.
The ball sank into the ground. It was clearly heavy.
Reishi picked the ball up again, and bounced it. This time it seemed to be light.
"The ball responds to a certain amount of ki, chi, nen, whatever placed inside by the person holding it. You MUST focus your energy, but it must be even, it must be spherical, or else..."
The ball suddenly popped.
"Now, of course, you can go without focusing your energy into the ball, but you'll be at a disadvantage. Keep in mind that physical strength can work against you in this match. I can't count the times Ran has made the ball lighter and caused me to kick the ball into orbit," something about Reishi's tone almost implied she wasn't kidding, and that somewhere in outer space a soccer ball was floating around.

“Interesting exercise,” Yuri said, “Call me when you’re done. I’ll be waiting over here,” she called back as she evacuated the field. “If someone gets hurt I should be able to take care of it.” Yuri then sat herself on the sidelines and watched the rest play.

It was then that an elderly, but jovial man appeared behind Yuri.
"High Master!" Ran and Reishi called out simultaneously.
"Oh my, this young one doesn't want to play? For shame, for shame," he said, a warm grandfatherly smile on his face, "Mistress Tenryuu, Mistress Xiao, did you explain the earning system?"
"Uh, no," Reishi said, "I just kinda showed up, Mountain Master and Tempest Master had other duties to attend to, so I guess I just became de facto guide eh?"
"Oh, a bit more than that I'm afraid," the old man cleared his throat, "Young ones, I'm afraid we have an overabundance of students at this time, so the usual teachers are quite busy. In response, I am now asking Mistress Tenryuu to be your personal general instructor and...for lack of a better term...faculty advisor."
"But, High Master, I'm not a teacher..." Reishi objected.
"The young girl standing next to you suggests differently," High Master mused.
"Well...ok...on one condition," Reishi relented.
"And what would that be?" High Master stroked his chin.
"Ran helps me," Reishi stated.
"I don't see why not, is that acceptable Mistress Xiao?"
"I see no forseeable problems, it appears these students need help in the food production field as well," Ran replied.
"Good good...now how about you explain the earning system?" High Master continued.
"Oh, yes," Reishi cleared her throat and turned to the students, "As we mentioned before, you have to grow or raise your own food. Obviously stealing is out of the question, so some of you were probably wondering 'How do we get seeds or livestock when we have none?' It's pretty simple actually, you just need to earn it from someone willing to share in exchange for a task. These can be easy, like fetching buckets of water or carrying oxen..."
"Uh, Reishi, that's only easy for you..." Ran cut in.
"Oh, right...anyway, as the Twin Temples' best gardener..."
"Botanist."
"Whatever. I'm sure Ran would probably be willing to give some seeds or fruit to you, in exchange for doing something for her," Reishi nudged Ran.
"Oh, yes. If you participate in this soccer game, I'll give you each one bag of seed. If you WIN, I'll let you pick out one of my prized chickens," Ran explained, "But you only get the bag of seed if everyone participates. This is a team effort, and you're all a team now."

((alright, Jake still tempest right now))

Jake smiled as he took the field, "Soccer? Score! I'm made for speed and kicking, how can we loose?"

“Fine,” Yuri said, rising to her feet and taking the field once again. “I suppose there’s no attacking the opposing team either,” she said, pulling her leg up high to stretch it while balancing on her other.((She had put her clothes back on on the way up to the field.))
