Quote:When i say -def isnt a problem i mean -def isnt a problem when fighting something like romans. Lets not forget that dark oblit adds -tohit as wellIt doesn't take that long for you to get hit by massive DD when you only have 30% DDR. Heck, even on my softcapped shield tank with very high DDR still gets his defense lowered to nothingness when facing Romans. True, Shield doesn't have the aura or Burn, but even with Softcapping and higher DDR than FA the defense is lowered. Although, Romans are just a pain to fight on any defense-based character so I suppose if you were facing enemies who were not that reliant on -def powers you would be fine.
The build I showed is capped, and that capping makes it crappy. Notice how I said "if you wanted to play a build with gimped attacks", that means the build sucks. :-P
Nah, its just a crappy build. Its not crappy because it's soft capped. You can make a soft capped build A LOT better. -
Quote:Ok, thats simply not true...it actually takes quite some time before -def can be applied when you are soft capped. Infact, on an /FA the mob will likely be dead before you get hit even once.High recharge means that the heal is up, if you are getting hit hard that 50% heal on a 11 second cooldown is really handy to top you back up. Having all your AoEs on quick recharges means you can choose to only use AoE attacks. But, if you do feel the need to softcap your S/L (which will be gone in a matter of seconds by anything that has -def powers, as of course you do not have much defense debuff resistance.)
Of course, with this S/L capped build you can use Darkest Night to apply -tohit to your foes, reducing their chances of hitting you. But, again just ideas of how you could go about making your own Ele/FA .
Oh, and the build you posted showing how s/l soft capped makes you gimped is simply a crappy build. -
Yeah, i have no idea where this idea of a gap for KoB came from...i thought it was a well-established fact that you can pretty much maintain a full AoE attack chain with SS/fire/mu.
-
Quote:FE and LR can never be up too often, screw the heal though. +dmg from sets is generally useless, both because its such a low number for a brute and because you can dmg cap without it, which means it literally becomes useless.idk dude, with my build, and fury topping out, my dmg%+ is way higher, my defenses are higher, and with all the AOE's plus my high recharge i wont be without a power to use ( ie no downtime), and no downtime means low damage taken. so who needs heal more than every 11 seconds...

K, working on the video...ill edit this post with a link. It's pretty crappy quality but i think it proves the point.

Quote:Thats just not true, i seem to always have an AoE up (every few missions there is a point where nothing is up though). For the love of god, didnt i just say that? I think people are forgetting about FF+rech with this math.KO Blow still reigns as the filler attack no matter how much +recharge you have. Assuming perma-hasten levels with a T4 Spiritual Alpha, Ball Lightning is still going to hold your attack chain up. To have a flawless attack chain of Foot Stomp > Elec Fences > Ball Lightning > Burn, Ball Lightning needs to have a recharge of 6.5s or so. Assuming you build entirely for recharge speed on your SS/Fire (which isn't efficient in the first place on an SS/Fire) you won't be able to reach that amount of +recharge. A ST attack in the chain is inevitable.
KO Blow only has .7s more activation time than Haymaker and does more DPA than it. It's better to use that as your filler in the chain. -
Ok, wtf is with all these crap numbers!
On SS i have NEVER had a gap long enough to fit KoB when running with mu, at most haymaker makes it in there at the lowest of the low levels of +rech but for the most part there is always an AoE up.
For the love of god people >.<
But who knows, maybe these other chains for claws an mace are just has pathetic when it comes to demonstrating the true AoE potential of a set. -
If you are only going to be using one build, i recomend making it content based. So get soul and try and get a decent chunk of s/l def (i like to be soft cap, but im really starting to think 32.5% might be enough) and 12 points of -kb.
An SS/fire a build created to survive is still going to kill things fast...really fast.
And for the love of god dont get nrg mastery.
Of course, if you are a hero and cant get PPPs you ****** up and need to go redside. :P -
S/l is better, its really that simple.
I really is safe to say s/l protects you from pretty much all melee. And lets not forever there are A LOT of guns in this game. So you got hell, thats a ton of range covered too. -
In regards to i21 rather than freedom as a whole i don't understand why they didnt add more iPowers...
I dont like the idea of the VIP server though, infact i think its almost as useless as te queue system, just don't know enough about it really. I for one plan to stay on my homeserver, there is no reason for me to leave. -
I think DA is fine with mostly SOs, if you get cardiac at least. But thats compared to other stuff with mostly SOs...none of which ever meets my performance standards in the first place.
-
You still hit the cap with the -res with radial. Pretty sure that means core would be a waste.
-
Id like to mention you dont need to craft stuff...i never do and i seem to get 1bil every few days just from the very light amount of farmin i do everyday, maybe an hour or so. And thats with bronze and using 1 toon.

hard drive light? @.@
Ive never seen my physical memory get higher than 77% thats how much of my ram im using right? -
Quote:Link speed is from the task manager and connection status windowWhere are you getting your link speed values from? The wireless card on your machine? Have you tried not using wireless?
Seriously, if it's in any way possible use a wired network connection (at least to test), wireless is hugely susceptible to interference from just about anything that generates any kind of EMF, anything that blocks EMF and anything else that happens to be going on nearby.
So this new problem, lack of CPU usage, could be because of wireless too?
I had heard that EMFs mess with wireless connection but was told it isn't too much of a problem. What kind of stuff interferes with it, basically anything electrical or just something else that does wireless...ness?
I had tested out a wired connection and it was better, by a lot. Speedtest.net had downloads go from 0.26, generally its at about 2 though, to about 20 mbps...Im guessing thats different then my link speed in task manager of course. Setting up wired permanently would be quite difficult but if that would solve the problems i guess i should do it.
I defrag every Wednesday so everything says its 0% fragmented, except for "SYSTEM RESERVED" which is stuck at 38% for some reason. -
For roughly a week now i have been having some debilitating lag. Originally, I had thought it was because of my internet connection. My link speed would plummet from 135 mbps down to 13.5-5 (im not sure if that means anything though as 135 mbps sounds pretty insane). I ran windows update, one happened to be for my wireless adapter, and that seemed to fix it.
But now something else has taken its place. Every so often I now get a lag spike that seems to correspond with a massive plummet in CoHs CPU usage, taking a nose dive all the way down to 20-4%. Then it shoots back up to the normal 70-90% and then the game runs fine for a few more seconds.
No background programs that could be eating up CPU seem to be running at all either. Does anyone know what might be wrong?

Quote:I laughed at this, sorry. Fiery being the best for farming is pretty much the only aspect of farming that ISN'T debatable, it wins hands down. It really is that simple to, fiery is the best.Well first off you went Fiery which is more Squshie then Invul and Wp, when I farm I go with Wp and Invul any day man. Also Incarnate powers might be handy like Pyronic or Ion and maybe Barrier form Destiny or Some other buff. in all my years of playing I would never pick Fiery for Farming, It's just not as good.
-
Quote:It is not the case. Compared to say a WP, invul or SD yes it's not as tough. But it can still be made you tank most AVs and pretty much anything in the game (really hami and LR in the STF, without any buffs, is all i can think of that ive had much trouble tanking) while putting out more dmg than a WP or invul could even dream of and still has a hefty lead on the /SD.Thanks again for all the responses. To the suggestion of SS/Fire I understand that it is a great farmer but I was under the impression that it wasn't very durable for fighting tougher enemies, is that not the case?
DM/FA is of course a bit tougher especially when it comes to tough single targets. -
you need to give the full path for the file for example, if you have it on a desktop it would be "C:\Users\JDoe\Desktop" or whatever. It also has to be in ""s so C:\Users\JDoe\Desktop wouldn't work. i think
Few things about the actual binds though. Combine yellows. In fact they, and break frees, are generally the only insp that is COMPLETELY useless. I recomend keeping purples out of the bind because those ARE needed.
And dont set up hasten to auto apply, just dont. Of course, im not sure if that bind would work in the first place. Oh and its missing the $$ so it needs to be ...inspexecname enrage$$powexecname hasten. -

I lol at the OP, i find lambda to be crazy easy. Even on a "squishy"

I'd like to mention something though. If you only plan on using 1 build i HIGHLY recomend you make it a content build so you are good at TFs and normal mission. A farm only build is really good at farming but pretty much sucks at just about everything else, imo. But a content build is pretty good (or epic if you spend a lot) at TFs and so on and also not too bad at farming. -

Uh, Bill thats not a very good attack chain for SS, I tend you use ball>FS>fences>Burn with insp/fe/etc filling any gap, which i generally dont run into myself. And dont forget the freakishly awesome FF+rech proc that SS can get.
EDIT: something more like ball>FS>fences>burn>FS>fence, i think god i dont know haha.
