  5. I feel dumb already; I thought being in the folder and hitting the contribute button would default to that folder; I noticed right after I clicked OK that it went to screenshots anyway.

So... yeah I'm gonna get off the PC for a while and go do some mundane house cleaning to punish myself for not paying attention.
  6. So then uh... the next time you're available to do them outside of a convention you'll let us know, right?

RIGHT? ¬_¬ *boots TA out of line*

I plan on playing with it and trying to do some coloring.

One thing is it takes some getting used to the pressure portion. You have to push relatively hard to get it to make a big difference in line thickness. I'm one of those people that barely touch the paper when I write so I had to push just a little harder than I'm used to. Jr is more heavy handed so that may not be a problem.

Other than that i drew some lines in PS CS3 and not sure if it was just my image size or how much it was magnified but the lines seemed a bit pixalated. I didn't have a ton of time to test this so I'm hoping it was user error.
Oh yes, I remember getting used to my new tablet. Took me a while; at first I wondered how it was supposed to be easier/make me faster.

At least all Wacom tablets that I know of have options you can set up which include pen sensitivity and screen-to-tablet ratio. Check your start menu folder for the installed Wacom directory and you'll find 'Wacom Tablet Properties' or something similar.

All tablets come with the Mapping size set to the full area of the screen by default, and there are sliders you can adjust in the Pen tab to set up how sensitive you want the pen to be.

Without knowing more about your document size and tool type, I can't comment on why the lines you drew seemed pixellated, but I imagine that was indeed a user thing, and don't worry about it at this time.
  8. Miss Deebs, I just want to say I have been greatly enjoying your wonderful sketches over the past month or so, and congrats to you for sticking with your self-imposed challenge.

    I'm sorry, Juggertha. *hides*
  10. I'll be there with Summer's Son, Fire/Fire Brute.
  11. Sorry I missed this thread, but for future reference, a 4x6" tablet with 512 levels of pressure sensitivity is a perfect starter tablet. The Bamboo is a good tablet (and the new ones are leagues better than the first couple runs). Someone starting out is not going to notice the difference between 512 and 1024, and when you get the full Intuos models you're usually aiming for the other features the tablets come with (like directional tilt).

Generally artists don't want to get giant tablets anyway; the ones 9x12 and past are often better for doing video work, etc. (That's not saying artists can't use 'em well; I know of some who prefer the big tablets. But the bigger the tablet the bigger the arm movements, the less steady your lines get on big sweeps and you tend to tire your arm.)
  12. After being able to preview this event yesterday, here are my thoughts:

    1) Takes too many presents to spawn a Winter Lord in zone. I figure this is to combat the 'merit fest' from last year, but could you look into bringing that number down a bit? Bouncing around for 10-20mins on a full team gets tedious (and hey I have a lot of toons to go thru!).

    2) I too would like to see more merits for defeating the Lord of Winter, as the WL GMs that ambush you give no merits. (Awarding 2 merits for the WL GMs is a fine alternative.)(Hmm I just had a thought; the Lord of Winter GM + 3 WL GMs = 8 merits, standard for each GM defeat... so my request may be unfounded.)

    3) Also, adding to 'please rename Lord of Winter' vote pile. There probably isn't time for model make over, but a name change should be easy. What about Emperor Frost?

    4) Great call on the event message when the WL GM is spawned; can we also get either an icon on the map or a distance counter similar to the Halloween Aspect GM? (Yes, I know the giant present afterward gets an icon.)

    5) A note in the GMoTD about the new winter event being targeted for multiple teams, so players are better prepared when the time comes.

    6) Kudos to the devs team for coming up with yet another holiday event that's a bit different from the last!
  13. Honestly, I wouldn't be going for complete accuracy in this case. I would either draw in a ton of cross hatching, or I might draw in circles then crosshatch and choose to highlight or deep shadow just a few places to emphasize raised texture. IMO it's not worth the time and effort to perfectly replicate that loo; instead go for clean simplicity.
  14. Dear David:

Please come up with an avatar/signature character for yourself so we can bestow upon you arts!

    Much admiration,
    Liz
  15. WOW

I need to log in to Syrus early and check this out early.

    Looks AWESOME!
  16. Heheehh, Ahnuld 1000 is great!

Yeah really. My two badge mains have still been played semi-regularly (as regularly as I play any toon) since Day Jobs were implemented and while they're behind those toons I have played less, they've still acquired many DJ badges nonetheless. Can/Do you play 24hours a day? No? Then your collection progress is slowed by a handful of hours each 21-day period while you play your toon. Oh noes! ...Wait...

When I realized it would be over a year before I could earn all the DJ badges on any toon, I stopped worrying about getting them 'now now now.' I keep track of who's where and has earned what, etc, and continue to play as I have been.

Also, if you're someone who has problems with having many multiple DJ badges at once, then adjust your playstyle so you don't get more than what you find is acceptable, and let me do what I want and earn them all. It's like being that one student you knew in high school who got all A's, played two instruments, was on three sports teams, captain of three clubs AND did community work. (Damn those overachievers.) Obviously it's not for everyone, and admit you were jealous/awestruck/grumbled at all their accomplishments.
  18. GAH *wants DN art so bad*

Nuts to you, Paragon, for including a printer in the lan room at Hero Con. I came prepared with composed references! :P

(Loving all the images you've posted, David!)
  19. Heheheheheh, I remember when that happened to Citadel.

And when Void Hunters had THREE faces. Boy that was creepy.

Bah, it's about managing your time and not getting too far away from the money. He took on far too much in a short period of time.

I would hope that any artist here would learn from the example.

He's a convention circuit artist who is notorious for taking money and either not delivering art later, or delivering almost the opposite of what the client wanted. He's slow to respond when you remind him of what he owes, and has an ego the size of Kilo's taunt aura.

I would gladly say more, but I don't think this is the place to be blasting an artist that may not have been the one about which this thread was started.

Wow this whole escapade sounds exactly like David K. Wong.

Tho' I am glad you finally got your artwork and you are pleased with it.
  25. First off, you guys rock hard core. I ADORE this pack. Bought it immediately and I haven't even had the chance to play with the costume pieces. Ninja Run is awesomesauce in a jar.

My travel powerless Arch/Dev Blaster BOOKs it across the land now. (Its build focuses on runspeed bonuses anywhere I can get them.) I mean, I was coming within 10mph slower than Flyspeed cap at 50, and now it's clocking 64mph with a few bonuses to go.

    A bug I found:
My Shield/Fire tanker ran with his shield behind instead of in front. It looks odd and uncomfortable. (I think it may be the single sword position?) I only had his primary powers toggled on; I didn't have any attacks queued up which I suppose may have changed his stance. After seeing a screenshot earlier in this thread of a Shields Scrapper with the shield in front I was confused and thought I should post here in addition to the bug report filed. Also, he's a regular male body (not huge).

Can't wait to get some more free time to play with this pack. This dev team just keeps delivering!
