  1. I have no issues with specially targetted booster packs although I do think this one has way too little for way too much.

What I do have an issue with though is:

NCsoft pulling things that were part of the GR beta and selling them seperately. It is dangerously close to bait and switch.

I'm also starting to feel like the company is starting to think of us as a cash cow. We are all paying $15 a month which is to cover server maintenance and ongoing development of the game. Well it's now starting to feel like most of what they are producing is getting charged to us as "extras". If my subs are paying the wages of the developers for them to make additions why was I asked for more to actually use it?

I'm fairly sure it doesn't cost $2+ million per month to maintain a couple of dozen servers so if we are paying for ongoing development of the game out of that money aren't you getting a bit greedy asking for us to pay for it a second time?

One last point. Not taking the time to address all these concerns just makes you look like you don't care what we think. Either that or you really can't think of a way to justify all this.
  2. I've searched but could find no word on this bug but as it has remained unfixed for quite a while now I thought I'd ask if anyone knew what was being done about it.

For the last few months now on about 30% of the missions I've done I've found that my team mate does not show up on the map. Not a massive deal I know but it can cause problems when we both take different directions thinking the other is right behind us and we end up taking on mobs alone.

I know it's not just me as my playing partner is having the same issue. Not always at the same time though. Have the devs indicated what they are doing about it? I'm a little surprised I couldn't find a post about it as it is easy to see. Unless I've just been using the wrong search terms.
  3. Just a quick note to the devs that it appears that Snow Storm in the Cold Mastery epic powers seems to have gotten it's old vfx back and the fog generated by the secondary infections is completely overwhelming and that anyone within an infected mob can see nothing but a swirling white screen.

Can this please be fixed asap as it is making life very difficult for us squishies as the tank cannot see a thing and can't see any enemies breaking off to attack us?
  4. Thanks for that Schismatrix. I didn't post this in the bugs section in case it wasn't one. I'll do so now.

    Cheers.
  5. Last night a friend and I were running a duo for the first time in a couple of weeks and mine was a lvl 41 Dual Pistols char that had picked up snow storm from the Cold Mastery epic set. Now the visual effect on the target seemed the same but the glow on the enemies that he inffected was enormous. To the point that my friend who was a tank literally could not see a thing while in the middle of a mob when snow storm was running. Even standing at the edge of the mob, which i did, meant almost total white out.

I've had this power before and certainly do not remember so much fog being generated. Is this new or have we both just never noticed how much there was before. And if it is new can it be changed back because not only is it distracting it was dangerous for me as the tank couldn't see any bad guys who peeled off to attack me.
  6. With each of my characters I start slotting training ones at lvl 7 and switch to DO's the second I hit 12. While more often than not I email these new characters starting cash these days I never use to bother untill I was ready to start buying sets. To afford all those T's, DO's and SO's was achievable without having to play the market. It was just a matter of making a point of dropping into Wentworths whenever I filled up on salvage and put it up for sale. This usually generates enough inf to keep you properly enhanced. It also has a nice added benefit of keeping up stocks of salvage for sale.
  7. For those of us not in the US what exactly does fall 2010 equal to month wise?

Yeah really not a good idea. At level 7ish just to see how it would go I put a single training knockback enhancement in jolting chain and man did those bad guys end up flying all over the room. Drove my teammate to distraction. I replaced it as soon as the mission ended.

Sorry but I don't think this is right. A friend and I have a duo of reasonably setted energy/energy/force blasters at lvl 49 and we are playing at +0x4 and we are fairly ripping through the high level missions at the moment. Even EB's are taking less than 30 seconds for us to take down.

If we can manage that then no way are blasters underpowered.

I also have a level 43 plant/thorn dominator and she is incredibly usefull on teams. Locking down full size mobs is not an issue for her. As for damage there is no shortage of that too. This toon plays with a SS brute and she frequently takes on large mobs of baddies that have overwhelmed the brute and polishes them off.
  10. Yep another vote for plant thorns. Mine is lvl 42 and I'm having an absolute blast with her.
  11. Wow.. a lot of us Canberra's here. Miles and Grgic there are at least another 5 of us that I am aware of. See you online.
  12. Just to show it's even happening to the quieter servers Infinity is having those issues too. Recently I have noticed an increase in waiting times but last night the mission load times were significantly longer than usual for everyone. On a couple of occasions there where the team entered the mission door over a couple of minutes period but it took four or five minutes before everyone got into the mission at the exact same time with each person commenting that they thought they'd never get through thinking they were the only one.

I've also noticed that since i17 the lag during the last two missions of the itf has increased tenfold. Lag alley in the third mission in particular has become a slideshow where it use to be only slightly laggy for me.

And don't get me started on how long it takes to get into our base. Although thanks to a couple of posts in this thread I understand now why it can take so much longer to load a base than a zone with has 50 times the geometry.
  13. Thanks for clearing that up.. as much as anyone can anyway. It was just the way some people were talking about you would think it was common knowledge.
  14. Okay I give... what the hells an Alpha slot????
  15. One comment on the gtx 285. Prior to ultra mode being released it was suggested by one the devs ( I forget who) that this card was perfect for making the most of the new graphics engine. Now I have this card and I have to say that it is not even close to being true. Even with the latest drivers I had to turn a lot of things down to get the game to run fairly smoothly. And thats only in missions. Out in the open the card frequently struggles.

In other words if you can afford it and must go down the nvidia path go for the one je_saist mentioned.

Are you certain of this? Sorry but I will be extremely dissapointed if we are to briefly travel over four new pretty zones to fight mostly in the same old warehouse, sewer and cave maps. In this game we spend 95% of our time within instanced missions so I would have thought it made more sense to to focus on new mission maps than new zones.
  17. That might be fun. My stoney is currently stuck on Justice and needs something to do.

I'll check whats going on next Friday and get back to you.
  18. That Mantis SF was great fun. It was the first time Silk and I had played our spiders in a full team and I was pleasantly surprised at how well they performed.

I almost felt sorry for our opponents I must admit. Everyone on that team knew their stuff and it was very much a steamroll.

    This......
  20. Yeah.. not impressed. We only just managed to finish our bank mission with seconds to spare.
  21. Fire is considered to be a good secondary for a stoney. Personally mine was with Battleaxe and I had a ball with that combo. I should mention though I had a kin as a permanent playing partner so he took a lot of the sting out of the downsides to playing a stoney.
  22. I'm currently in Atlas WW on Infinity and I was selling some salvage to make some initial cash when i noticed that everything I was putting in for sale was showing 0 bidding and 0 for sale. This is of course highly unlikely that each of the 7 or 8 items I put up had no bids or items for sale so it may be another bug.

This is the bottom half of the interface I am talking about. Where you put your items for sale. The top half seemed to be showing the number of items correctly.
  23. I have a GTX 285 and I must admit I've been less than impressed with game performance with everything turned up. I have read that FSAA and ambient occlusion don't work well together and I tried running it with anti-aliasing off but the jagged lines were irritating the hell out of me.

I obviously need to spend more time with it to find a balance I am happy with.
  24. I'm afraid I have to add my name to those disliking the new interface. I've just spent the last hour in buying recipes and salvage to make some enhancements and it felt like it took me three times as many clicks to do anything.

And I really miss that big green "bought" sign. In this one you have to look closely to even see if the item is sold or not.

A big two thumbs down from me.
