Totally doing this. Unless a better idea comes along.

Hm... well, this comes to mind:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=em9PtzQzWOg&t=1m13s
/ok, sorry, I'm not helping. -
I, for one, do not support this. I, in fact, support MORE ambushes. Like maybe, oh, you're coming out of the Wentworths or Black Market... BOOM RANDOM BUSHWHACKING!
Or maybe, you got out of the mission, and outta nowhere... KABLAM SPANISH INQUISITION! ('cause, y'know, nobody expects one.) (But you know it'd be just the BOMB if it were to happen, right? You'd not mind that one bit.)
Frivolity aside, I have never, ever had a problem with any and all ambushes, including over and over. It's more bugs to kill. And I'm good at dealin' with it, usually, no matter the character.
Except maybe Total Dependent. She's built to not be offensive, she needs the team to do that, she buff/debuffs only. So if it was on her, yeah, that'd get old. -
I have a zombie Mastermind-stress that has them trained to do a dance to "YMCA", and is working on the 'Who's on first?' routine from Abbot and Costello.
Other than that, I got nuthin'.
/no really... if there was in ingame 'YMCA' being played, they could totally dance to it. -
I am disappoint, but only in that the powers listed were buff/debuff ones. I was expecting, an offensive set. Something Like this:
Water Control
You can extract the water from your surroundings, or if needed, the air, and control it in various ways.
First Tier (3)
Waterjets. You can create concentrated jets of water, which slice through a foe like an industrial waterjet machine does metal. May also debuff the foe's aim. (Damage: Low. Recharge: Fast)
Water Cannon. You can create a high pressure, high volume stream of water to subdue a foe. This also has a chance to knock back your foe. (Damage: Medium. Recharge: Average)
Washout. You can create a small stream of fast moving water under your foe's feet, causing them to be knocked down, as well as some damage. (Damage: Medium. Recharge: Medium)
Middle Tier (3)
Rehydrate: Using the water around you, you can heal yourself. This power is interruptable.
Percolate: You make a small pool under your foe, and heat it causing damage. There is a chance to also debuff the foe's defense. (Damage Medium, Recharge Medium)
Steam: You make a large amount of steam in a foe's direction, the cone effect causes blindness as well as damage, your enemies will not hit anything for a small while.(Damage low, recharge short.)
Top Tier (2)
Whirlpool. You can create a whirlpool of water that will disorient any foe in it's range with it's violent spinning, but does not in and of itself cause damage. The foes are also debuffed from defense for a while. (Damage: None. Recharge: Medium)
Tsunami. You can create a large wave of water that will inundate all foes in the area, causing heavy damage, knockdown, and disorentation to the foes. (Damage: Extreme. Recharge: Long)
Of course, I'm just a noob at this inventing of powers, but something like that for offense wouldn't be terrible, I'd think. I see it as maybe a 'troller/'fender/corr/dom offensive set. -
I am now furiously awaiting next season... that was not expected, for sure! But as you say, definitely, it's a given what will happen. I just kinda hope that it's not done in Season 1, ep 1, but more like S1 E3 or so. That would definitely be worth talking about, you ask me.
I will say I'm just a tad disappointed though, in that I fully expected a bit of heated dialogue, to say the least, between Airachnid and Megatron, but maybe they're saving that for the opener next season. Perhaps as a twist to make the obvious happen... but then that conversation might have to wait until Ep3...
In any case... Definitely. Very nicely done by TPTB.
/spoilers. Watch out.
//No name change, IMO, BTW, YMMV, BBQ. -
Howdy folks.
As some of us are having to deal with... there's that little 'I don't remember you!' forum bug goin' about.
One of the symptoms, besides it constantly wanting you to reenter your username and password, is that the 'New Posts' button either can't display any new posts (because, of course, you've not been here before, right?) or if you were hanging about, the last 10 minutes or so, if there were any new posts... which equals perhaps 3 of them.
Quite annoying, to me anyway.
So... the fix is this:
http://boards.cityofheroes.com/search.php?do=getdaily
I made it a favorite in my favorite bar. After signing in (so I get the red interface), I pop that button, and I get the last 24 hours of posts.
In case that helps anyone. It's made me sane* again, so there's proof it's beneficial!
/ *-only in relative terms, my 'sane' is probably different from yours. -
Only in this thread to say:
Cerise Dawn must have bats and crows.
That is all.
/Very exciting! -
Oh, this'll be interesting...
The Dawn sisters:
Ruby Dawn - Christy Carlson Romano, Kim Possible style... the caring heroine.
Cerise Dawn - Grey DeLisle, Azula style, 'cause she's an evil b****
Rose Dawn - Alyssa Milano, Phoebe Halliwell style, 'cause she's sorta vigilante, although if you wanted that, you'd probably go with Shannen Doherty as Prue... but I'm not.
Homeslicer - Jackie Earle Haley, Rorschach style. Mysterious, tough, and gravelly voiced.
Big Thing - Gregg Berger, Grimlock of the Dinobots style. This is absolutely, exactly, what I 'hear' when I type as Big. "Me am Big! Me strong! Smash puny spiderguys! RAWR!"
There are others, but thems those. -
Lex Luthor, in Superman IV: The Quest for Peace, proved that bolt cutters were Superman's choice in hair trimming, obviously.
As far as the heat vision shaving... or shaving in general... I just don't know. Seems that if Superman overall is nigh on indestructable, that fire can't burn his hair or skin, that bullets bounce off his eyeball... heat/laser vision wouldn't cut the hair.
But hey, whatevs, it's a comic, anything is explainable in some way eventually. -
1) He is a good businessman. He will put out a show that will sell. That, above all else, is why he's still doing Family Guy, and why that show was *brought back*, mind, after being cancelled, and that after 3 years!
2) He's fan savvy. He will do what they require him to do to keep them fans.
3) His comments indicate a respect for what Trek is, and what it is not. It is drama that transcends the show, it's genre. It is not a ton of fart jokes and such.
Those things mean that he would actually be a good Trek producer, you ask me. He's not stupid, in fact, he's quite brilliant. Brilliance would be a good Trek thing. His perfectionist mentality (as indicated by most voices he does himself because he doesn't trust anyone else to do them the way he wants them done) would disallow him from pulling stupid into the show.
I'd be ok with it. I'm not sure anyone's gonna 'hand him the keys', but I think it isn't a terrible idea at all.
Then again, fart jokes never get old...
/<--Trekkie.
//Not 'Trekker.' I'm pretty sure I don't fit that mold. Don't own a uniform, for example.
///Got a Seasons 1-2 TNG full costume pattern as a novelty though, so I *could* have one... but it just collects dust. -
I *been* disappoint with AMD since the P4 era.
Then they went and got in bed with ATI, and it's been 'no thanks' ever since.
Yes, get the 2500K. You'll be happy you did, and it's overclockable if you decide to play that game.
/Rule number one of computers: Nothing you buy this minute will be good enough the next. You can live next door to a store, and you still can't drive home fast enough before it's been superseded. So buy whatever makes you happy *now*, as you will never ever find *THE* computer, it will never exist. -
Pretty much any movie I've ever seen.
/editic memory.
//But only for movies, books, tv, weird trivial crap, my work, tasks and directions (maps).
///Names and dates confound me. I will forget your name 10 seconds after I meet you, and then I won't remember the last time we met. -
Well, you may be an EU customer, but I have NO HAIR. So the Flowbee part of it sucks for me.
/Is there a cash value alternative for that part? -
My CP doesn't look like Rap's. All that blue... ugh.
/Switched to Red a LONG time ago, doesn't hurt my eyes as much.
//Thusly, my newly done Gold name looks quite awesome. -
Obviously, the video camera targeting reticle is the glitch.
uh... no wait, that's not it. It's the fact you're supposed to "Confront the Skull leader in the office complex", but when you get there, without defeating him... "get out of the office". AND he has no level information, AND he's conning friendly.
Well confronted, dude, well confronted.
/other than those two... dunno. Gimme a hint. -
/jranger
Oh, wait, I'd get banned if I left it at that. So I'm not leaving it like that:
/Play the game. It's fine like it is. Much like Real Life(tm), there are just some things you have to deal with, this is one of them.
//There are MANY other things they need to fix, this is NOT one of them.
///Like the things in my sig below, for example.
////And finishing the Bridge to Nowhere in Port Oaks.
/////And the construction in the NE corner of Steel Canyon.
//////And a Moon Base.
///////And a BRB.
////////should those last slashies be like /V V V/and V//? -
Quote:Well, not to be a fanboi, but given the experiences with ATI and Nvidia? Better writing. As in, their drivers. I had to support both... and I will never, ever, buy ATI for myself, because of all the problems I've had to deal with in the past with their products, and it *all* stemmed from their crappy drivers. NVidia just works. Period. Always has. I have never understood how ATI seems to stay valid... I really don't.
So... what are you spending nearly $125+ for? Best as I can figure, a little badge that says Nvidia.
So yes, I spend extra on that little badge, and do it gratefully, thank you very much.
/semi-rant off.
//Figured I'd toss in my $.06 on it, but only from that one little blurb, otherwise, I'da stayed out. -
Not yet. It's on the DVR and I will soon.
Caught "One Shall Fall", that's where I'm at.
TFPrime has been pretty good stuff, and I hope it continues. I found it somehow, and immediately set the DVR to series record, and haven't regretted it, been there since day one myself.
I want more Mech. As bad as the Decepticons are, Mech is definitely way more sinister, ya ask me. D's are just evil and bad. Mech are evil, but canny.
And Starscream ... well, no spoilers here, just in case, but I like what they did. It makes perfect sense, and I wonder where/what that's gonna do later on...
They'll definitely release the boxed set. It's just too early yet. Don't fret.
/Love the Arcee/Airachnid thing. Meow. That is all. -
Doesn't matter the size or function of the zone, the problem is the same: More people = more CPU needs = More Lag.
So I'm thinkin' that they need to leave PD and RWZ alone, likely, with whatever's working in AP. -
Today's info from me is a short version.. not much happened. Power is out at house (I'm at another one on my cell phone as a hotspot... 3g sucks.
), and it went out at work too when I was playing with that W8P experi-box.
---
I'm getting used to the whole interface now. Even the little bit I was able to play with it today, the interface is... well... nice.
o.0
I actually GET it. It's stupidly simple. Which might be handy. I'm not really cool with the fourth pane of Desktop icons, but... I can drag those about, plonk them where I want among the tiles...
Goofy thing switches to desktop then opens the program. A little odd, but ok.
I *really* don't see the point of two IEs on the machine, 9 for the desktop, and 10 for the metro. But you can 'desktop' IE10, but I didn't get to where I could see if that means the desktop IE icon would run 9 or 10 if you set 10 that way... In any case, MS needs to pick one and go with it, and be done with it.
Downloaded a cute litte program that requires Net 3.51, but allows you to switch between the Metro/non-Metro setting. You can do it with a registry, but the program is easier. Have to restart W8 to activate the change.
Likin' the left side previous window thingy. Nice.
Likin' the right click in IE10 to bring up other IE10 windows.
Likin' the Windows Button takes you to Metro, and then you flick about to the desktop or whatever.
Like I said... I am actually liking Metro now.. it's easy to deal with in many respects. The dumbing down of the interface could actually be handy... and the idea of this being prevalent in phones, tablets, TVs, whatever, so it's all similar and you can expect a similar interface in them all? Kinda interesting. I see their point...
But still think as a pro interface, it's stupid. Too many 'tricks' to deal with things. That would be turned off as default, and clones made from that...
Ooh. I need to Ghost one to se if I can... Ghost 15 is weird, but works on Win7... Yeah, yeah, I know, other programs... I tried those, but me and they didn't exactly work right for some reason. I gave in.
One other thing: we use VNC to remote desktop inside our network. Long story short: It works for two reasons we need it to. We use RDP for outside sessions to a couple of central servers, then VNC into the workstations from those. Eh, it works.
Anyway, RealVNC? Not on W8. TightVNC (my fav flavor) Nope. UltraVNC (not my fav, but...) Yep, we have a winner. I don't know why, but the other two won't work/install. UltraVNC does. And it works with the Metro, no problem.
In case anyone was wonderin' about that. Use UltraVNC, and it'll work.
Then the power went out as I was installing old school programs we need... so there'll be more later.
Righto, off to bed. g'night all. -
Quote:Um, he might could be visiting Paragon, but Captain Amazing fights crime in Champion City. Or did. Pretty ugly demise, ya ask me....Why would Captain Amazing, who fights crime in Paragon City, have any connection to game that exists in OUR world much less get badges for it?...
/The birthday idea, I'm down with, btw... but it's a shame they don't have the data for it. I'd *love* to see when my characters were made. Be nostalgic and such. Ah well.
//Poor Lance... -
That's not horrific, that's *TOTALLY FREAKIN' SWEET*.
/Wonders if it can be made permanent.
//And if not, when can we expect it to be made permanent in an upcoming patch? Pleeeeeease?
