Quote:should have stopped righ here.I hear you and definitely agree Mac...thats why I said this "(I know creativity doesn't always translate into solid PvP play)". Not sure what that has to do with people forum lulzing someone genuinely looking for help though. Check out the dude in my signature...now he requires some massive PvP pro LOLing in my opinion.
god forbid you entertain yourself on a video game forum. -
Quote:lolI hear you too Con, but me posting a simple opinion thats not TLDR doesn't mean I want to be your mom/dad or the PvP morality police. Have a good time defending anyone that wants to make fun of people trying to get better at PvP. You're usually pretty helpful; I really apologize though for forcing you to respond to me when you could have been better off spending your time being critical and/or LOLing at someone's quest for guidance and build help.
Catch you in the game...I'm not a fan of forum PvP. -
Quote:remember 15 seconds stuns with psy wail? so op.It's still bugged because no one plays Widows anymore so no one caught it during I16 beta when the rest of the powers were fixed. (Also, Widows are the only epic AT with toggle KB protection and the devs have a tendency to forget the epics when they're making adjustments to similar powers for the other ATs.)

Guess what too?
EA's TP Protection is broken again.
I <3 these devs. -

what sort of damage do you expect to mitigate on a blaster?
fire/em all the way. -

i wish i could have logged lightning hawkz in AC a few days back.
it was like 3 hours of straight up stupidity coupled with a hint of AWESOME.
but yeah... i'd get banned for posting that here too. -
if you are refusing to take a phase power (be it phase or hiber) for conceptual reasons, i cannot take you seriously.

-jump/fly.
80% of playing a mastermind is keeping your target from getting away.
at least when playing against a less bad player. -
at this point, i wouldn't roll any mastermind that's not /mace.

Quote:i once sold some bad pvper's base for 30 mill.I can understand your situation. I IO my toons in the mid 30's and, unless I expect to play them a lot after hitting 50, they're pretty much done. I have only purpled one toon and don't see the point to doing any others. I farm a bit, do a ton of TF's and work the market so the infl and merits keep coming in.
With sufficient funds, you can effectively 'buy' something that normally requires a long-term group effort - a well-appointed base. If you have an idea for a theme SG, or a cool name idea, you can make a new SG and have a massive base overnight by converting influence to prestige. Yes, the exchange rate sucks but, if you're rolling in influence, who cares?
P.S. I have not actually done this, but I did buy an existing VG with base. It had died out and one person found himself the only one left and didn't feel like building it back up and decided he'd rather have some infamy than his own private base. The VG had a name I liked, so I bought it.
i still have like 6 keys to 6 different sgs/vgs. i just dont feel like selling at this moment. -

Yes.
Ask Lord_of_Time, he has the actual numbers.
Also, Bab's mentioned it about a year and half ago (i11?), when drop rates were actually changed to be dependent upon the difficulty of certain encounters (certain TF missions have higher rewards; a quick intuitive note, check out how often people claim to get purples from an RSF run as compared to an ITF. now note how many mobs you kill). -
kinda happens after months of work are **** on. ujl was a huge time sink. arranging matches. keeping people civil (you try running a VG with people like modoom and sinyster in it). i want my months of work back.
I agree.
Quote:The devs are not touching pvp until after Going Rogue. That leaves us with at least 4-5 months and i doubt there will be any drastic changes akin to i 13. Screw the ladder. It would be great just to have separate groups running around and having matches vs each other(for the competition, drama, whatever). I would aim for 5 v 5s. Try and see if you can get a team set up cyclo.
drama is also a bit over-exaggerated. drama is all in fun. but it requires a few heavily diplomatic leaders which are in short supply. in ujl, shini kept relationships with DR civil, allowing us to keep practicing with them even when modoom and (to a lesser extent) me, were generally busy making fun of them. with renegades, massive molestation of our pvp butts kept us in line. with gmw, shini and bloody kept everything civil, while vert, myk and i talked massive amounts of dung about each other in AC.
i can only think of maybe two people in the current community that might have the clout and "respectability" to achieve that (mirage mage, silit). -
actually, in all sincerity; i had talked to divine about this before.
running an SG/VG at this moment is a huge waste of time. the devs said we were getting changes with going rogue, and we all know what happened the last time they took a look at pvp.
my prior experience has been that it takes just about as much time to get a vg up and running and competitive, as it takes for the devs to bring out a huge set of changes that make the good competent pvpers quit. i'll cite i13 and i11 as examples.
i11, the devs banned half of the ladder from going into test while beta was happening (VoRI disbanded their arena team), and a lot of the other changes resulted in half of ujl leaving for AoC.
i13, well, we all know the deal.
first and foremost, at this moment, the list of acceptable ATs in a high end match is ridiculously small. 5 stalkers with impale/sharks. why? DR caps on resists. until the devs bring back the old resists system, organized team pvp will consist of the following:
1. recruiting 10 guys.
2. telling them to roll spines/wp stalkers for 3 weeks.
3. impaling/sharking people in matches.
i'm not willing to partake in that at this moment.
the second reason is what i mentioned above; if you think Going Rogue is not gonna make people quit, then you're betting against a track record of badness.
