    Color in titles?

    Late to the party on this. I hadn't checked this thread yet and just noticed the feature. I set my title to Legendary and made it purple.

  3. I hope it doesn't turn out that way. An awesome community is one of the great aspects of this MMO. The more things there are to empower said community to bring everyone closer to the game they enjoy the better.

  5. I've figured it out. The Coming Storm is actually City of Heroes 2. Why Nemesis/Mender Silos wants to prepare for the Coming Storm is because he's the first supervillain to be killed off. He keeps on going back in time trying to prevent his death, but so far hasn't been able to do it by himself. Thus, he recruits the strongest that the Well has chosen.

    Yes, my dear friends. City of Heroes 2 is a Nemesis plot.

    I've already thought about that, but the problem there is what about the non-attack animations that outnumber Claws animations by far? What if you tried to do a /e drink and your character had a bottle sticking to the side of an open handed animal paw? Even worse, if the paw is supposed to cover the original hand, some animations would go through the geometry making it look like you have multiple hands!

    Claws Clause

    They did not. I don't think they even have the tech to make a power recognize if a costume piece is in use or not. Why does something like that matter? I say that because if a player used "No Claws" for their weapon customization, then all the Claws animations would have to know to animate with an open hand animation, rather than the closed fist one that is currently in use for Claws attacks. You'd also have to make the alternate animations for said attacks. Animal hands with claws too, if those weren't part of the Animal Pack.

    So why not make alternate animations for each Claw attack and let players choose from there? Players could choose an open hand animation for the attacks with Claws equipped and closed hand animations with "No Claws" in use. That's likely something they won't allow, so to fix the problem would need even more additional developer time.

    I still hope they do add the feature in, somehow.

    DM/Inv

    Do you absolutely have to have a travel power? Can you use Sprint + Ninja Run/Beast Run instead? What about Hasten? Getting perma-Hasten is great for many things in DM/Inv.

    My (really) old build was a DM/Inv/Body Mastery. Would you consider DM/Inv/Blaze Mastery? Char, Fire Blast, and Fireball are great powers. I believe Mu Mastery with its single target blast, AoE, and hold are more or less the same too if that is a better fit for theme.

    It looks like you enjoy using Shadow Maul. Not recommended for a DPS chain, but a decent cone attack if you can use it reliably. Also: Fun wins out in the case of numbers vs. fun.

    Hopefully that gives you some ideas! I'd say the biggest improvement you could make for your posted build wold be Recharge. High Recharge (and permanent) allows for DM/Inv to have consistent, top-end performance. Cheers!
  • I actually have two BS/SD characters with identical builds! I enjoy them both because of their character's theme. BS/SD is really fun and Against All Odds really helps with that CRUNCH! effect that Broadsword has.

    One application of Parry will get you to the Incarnate softcap with Melee, so if you're fighting someone like Marauder you'll be set for most of his attacks against you. The build doesn't even have any Defense IOs in Parry either!

    A great thing about Body Mastery + Shield Defense is that you can use Conserve Power to mitigate the 60% Endurance crash of One with the Shield. No reliance with Inspirations on that part! All of the benefits, none of the calories.

  • Couple of days ago I got logged out as soon as I logged in. Not completely fixed, but it's still there on the rare occasion. It might have to do with when new forums are opened up, such as when the Global Server Test forums were revealed.
  • 1. What about Ice Armor that looks more like frost rather than cubes? I'd suggest a texture of ice covering the character here and there too, but that would begin to involve the texture artist huh? I'd be happy with frost and large snow flakes forming and melting with Ice Armor though.

    2. Expanding the level 30 auras so that they all have more specific emanation points. One example is I want to be able to have a Fiery Aura on Feet option, so I can make it a combat Aura for my Martial Arts characters. Fiery kicks!

    3. Giving the Power Customization treatment to the level 30 auras. Why can I have Dark Fiery Melee with Dark Fiery Armor, but not a Dark Fiery level 30 Aura? Bring in the goodness of Bright/Dark/Color Tintable to Auras!

    Most of her powerful attacks are done with her Magic infused right hand. Focus, Shockwave, Fire Blast, and Pyronic Judgement are all right-handed animations for example. I've also made an incredible build for her. Should be a lot of fun!

    There's seriously a lot of characters I would've made if I had this pack long ago. Just having those weapons and armors unlocked and at character creation gives me a lot of ideas. Perhaps we can all get a Cimerora Pack next?

    Hell, even my latest character I made is using the Magic Pack!

    And it's not strictly for Magic themed characters either! My Technology Blaster uses it as well!

    It wasn't a suggestion for you. Just wanted to show to _Pine_ that it was possible to get FM/Inv S/L/F/C/E/N Defense softcapped. Doing so for any */Inv build is going to be costly if you want all of the goods.

    As for the PvP 3% Resist and 3% Defense IOs, they are realitively easy to obtain without any Inf. You can get them through Tips on one or multiple characters at a time. Depending on the build, those two for me a very worthy long-term goals to add to one's character.

    It's possible. Modifying Succubus Kali's build into a FM/Inv I was able to get all of the goodies: high Recharge, perma-capped HP, softcapped S/L/F/C/E/N, etc.

    Anyways Calvin-, I would not skip out on Incinerate. On your original build post I'd at least replace Scorch with Incinerate. That power is incredible for Single Target DPS. Cheers!

  • It seems I can get past the server list and into Pinnacle, but only on that server from what I've tried so far. That's fine, it's my home server where I only play. I did however, want to log onto the EU servers and say hello to my fellow Supers from across the pond.

    It was a no go on the two English-speaking EU servers. Then I tried Infinity, then Liberty, and then several more. Now, the entire time I was trying to get on these other servers I was making new characters to jump in with. I tried with a character that was already made and voila. It worked. I was able to get in.

    So it turns out that any new characters I make and try to log in will not load into the server. At about half-way progress on the loading screen I get a crash report window, every single time on a new character made post-server list merge.

    That's bad. Real bad.
  • I try to log onto the EU servers and my game crashes.
  • You know what, I was actually able to improve upon the build and add in Mu Mastery. The net Recovery is lower than I would like, but with Power Sink available every 20s (and auto-hit) I wouldn't have any problems with my Endurance. Hasten is 116 Recharge/120 Duration and Energize has less than a second downtime. I like.

  • Not having perma-Hasten means not having perma-Energize. The reason why I like perma-Energize is because it allows me to:
    1. Ditch the Cardiac Alpha for more Recharge with Spiritual because of the permanent 59.6% Endurance Reduction.
    2. Have a massive, always-on amount of layered damage mitigation with Regeneration, great Resists, and softcapped Smashing/Lethal Defense.
    3. I can add a Rebirth Radial Destiny for even more Regeneration.
    Wish I could get Elec/Elec/Mu, I don't even have slots left over for them, so my build has Body Mastery. For now I can justify not having Mu Mastery on my character a little bit, because APP/PPP aren't customizable yet. Maybe my build can give you some ideas:
