Is it perfect right now? No. Should you be consistently getting Rares and Very Rare tables?

    NO

Sorry Voodoo but I have to agree with Tech. Exactly what do you consider participation? On any other TF or trial it would be me doing everything i could to help my team. Well that's what I do. Yesterday my Rad/Rad defender was in there attacking and debuffing every mob in the streets, the courtyard and as we took out the guns. I debuffed the Security Guard and followed my team into the warehouse to find grenades.

Just like Tech mentioned things started out fine. The team took out a few crates and I was right there attacking, healing and debuffing. THEN.. suddenly the entire team was just gone and as I tried to catch up .. I wound up in hospital. I RUSHED back as fast as I could and tried again. Managed to hook up with 2 other team mates and took out one more crate and started a second and.. Back to the hospital again. As i returned the second time all glowies on both side had been found and we started to work the final battle.

Trying to keep me team mates healed and all my buffs on Maurader i died again and hurried back as fast as possible. I was firing off attacks and debuffs as fast as I could until Maurader was defeated.

For my effort.. I got a common component. Did that trial 2 more times that day with pretty much the same results as far as deaths, etc. And never got anything better than a common... and on the final trial a guy that Dc'd and missed part of the search for nades and acids managed a RARE. Not only wasn't he contributing he wasn't even on the map but somehow the GAME decided his "Participation" was two levels of components better than mine?

I am not sitting by the door somewhere watching as others do the work. I am actively attacking, since all my attacks debuff, and using every debuff along with my heal from beginning to end. The SYSTEM rewards high damage, high HP and Good defenses while it punishes squishies that on ANY other TF or trial would be treated like a queen (or King). When i show up with my rad/rad for an STF, ITF or even a LGFT the general comment is "OH great we have a RAD." I did a BAD with her a while back and at one point I had a debuff on both Siege and Nightstar and was attacking each as their health levels fluctuated to keep them close. And my reward for all that... a common. I made out much better on the next one when I said to myself screw the AVs and concentrated my attcks on the ADDs. At the time I was TRYING to open slots and of course the league leader kept throwing me on a team he planned to use against the AVs so I could DEBUFF.

Oh and while we are here complaining that STUPID door at the hospital doesn't help matters either. I die.. I tp as fast as possible to the hospital so I can get back into action and then.. "DOOR WILL OPEN NEXT IN 20 SECONDS" So while I am standing there helplessly for almost half a minute the other members of the team are fighting. I am in TIME OUT... Basically its like saying "Oh well you were a bad girl. you died so you stand here and think about what you did for a while and then i will let you rejoin your playmates." I didn't like it when I saw it on beta and i like it even less now.

These trials are just another type of mission we do.. They are not the Holy grail and certainly not without faults and problems that should be looked at and fixed. Maybe I should hold back? Maybe if I don't die and can stay out there battling but at a nice safe distance I will do better... Gee there's a great attitude isn't it? Now translate that to an STF before everyone had a level shift and 3 to 4 more powers including a mini nuke. If I wasn't face to face with the Av debuffing and attacking the leader would want to know what my problem was but on a Lambda maybe its better to hold back and just stay alive. Fire off my AoEs so i damage as many things as possible and maybe I can get an uncommon or a rare.

I'm sorry but I don't I CAN'T play that way. If I join a team, any team, I go all out from beginning to end. If I die I die but I promise i will take as many of the bad guys as i can with me and I will come back for more OVER AND OVER.. If that isn't participating then someone needs to contact Websters and change the definition.
  2. Its been a while since we had one of these and a few things have been running through my head of later so I decided to start a fresh thread. Some of these may have already been suggested by others .. in fact i am sure they have but if you don't remind them occasionally the Devs forget small matters...

    Okay let's see ...

    1. A Time Stamp for chat. I know that gets confusing with all the different time zones the game is played in so we make it very simple. NC Soft is Pacific Coast Time so THAT is game time.. Can't do the math? just remember East Coast is PCT +3 so [17:00] (5PM for you non military time fans ) is [20:00] or 8PM on the East Coast. Why do we need this? You have been busy doing a respec on your character or at the talior tweeking your outfit and when you come out you see a global post advertising a TF or trial you'd enjoy joining. But how long ago did that team leader make that post? 2minutes ago? or 20? A time stamp will at least give you an idea of when the post was sent and save you the trouble of sending a tell to a leader already 3 missions into the task force. Other applications? how about copy and past to prove someone is being a complete jerk and posting the same thing again and again and again in a zone.. with a time stamp you can show they posted the same stupid text 20-30 times in 5 minutes. There are other uses I am sure

    2. More information on the Badge progress menus. Great I have 19 of 22 recipes crafted for a 45-50 level badge but of the 2-3 different types assocaited with that badge which ones do i still need to make? Eliminates the guess work and quite possibly wasting influence crafting things you already made enough of. Now i have heard a rumor that something along this line is coming soon but .. example two concerns Maria Jenkins Arc and the Dimensional Warder badge. Great I just finished the last mission from Maria and no badge. I check and it tells me I have 13 of 14.. So WHICH praetorian did I miss?

    3. Add Incarnate Powers to profile list. This comes in very hand for any team leader doing the Apex or Tin Mage TF. How many times have we seen one form and when the leader goes to start is informed that someone on the team isn't eligible because they don't have their Alpha Opened? Plus come on... think about this at level 50 the thing still lists BRAWL as a power. OHHHH WOW he has brawl now I know we can't fail! LOL If they can list a level one inherent power don;t you think they shoul list the level 50 (+) ones as well. They do tend to come in a little handier on missions than brawl does.

    4. Add Alignmemt to Profiles. Same sort of thing. I personally have joined Cathedral of Pain trials and we get ready to head into the host SG base and "Oh Gee.. We have three Rogues on the teams and they can't access a Hero base." Time to start recruiting again. YES it would be nice if people actually paid attention to thing like that but sadly there are players out there that have no idea that they can't do stuff like that. they assume when they go Rogue or Vigilante that they are in a Blue or Red zone so they MUST be able to do all the same things as everyone else... How many times have you had a Rogue join a blue side TF and try to use their Ouro portal? .. Then you all get to wait till they make their way back from cap Au Diable before the TF can continue. This is another idea that team leaders will enjoy since it takes some guess work out of that.

Okay so far that's all I have but I will be thinking of more and please feel free to add your own. Just remember if they don't know we'd like it they may never get around adding it to the game.
  3. I have never overbid.. YET lol but I am guilty of another classic screw up. After a successful TF I headed to the RWZ to sell off the enhancements I'd collected.. with every slot IO'd I really have no use for SOs. While there I usually just get rid of any unwanted or worthless recipes as well. Yes you have probably already guess I got carried away and sold off a PURPLE recipe I probably COULD have sold on the Black Market for 300-400 Million for ?? I can't even remember but a WHOLE LOT LESS!

Now on the other hand I have been the benefactor of a few bidding miscues... I forget what it was I was selling but it was a rare piece of salvage I was asking 1.5 Million for and instead someone obviously hit one too many zeros and I earned 15 million.

    Controller -Mastermind
    Blaster- Dominator

I compare Blasters to Dominators (especially after the Dom buffs) because looking at Blasters you have lots of ranged damage, melee damage, some self buffs, some controls. Dominators have some melee damage, some ranged damage, some self buffs and lots of controls.

Controller-Mastermind makes sense to me because of the similarities, limited self damage, buff/debuff, and plenty of ways to disrupt what enemy mobs do.

As for Heroic Necromancy, there are some criminals that are serving multiple life sentences. If they die, that would only be one of the life sentences. Well now they're serving the next and so on. Just another example and there are plenty of others people can come up with.

Not against a new Pet based AT for Heroes, but how about a Buff/Debuff primary for Villains?
I would love to see a Buff.Debuff/Assault AT for redside.

THAT works better. yeah I can see an MM as a Troller type and Dominators do have the same attack chain as Blasters. I agree with you on the Assault AT red or blue side. I love my MMs but there are times where it seems more like I am the pets support system than the one running things. They are the ones doing the majority of the damage while I buff/debuff/heal/hold/immob and occasionally toss in a few weak attacks.

Just saying, all the MM primaries can be made to work for heroes if one just tries, even a little.

Not against new MM primaries though. However, I don't think using NPC groups is a good idea.

Agreed. Don't ever start giving us NPC minion .. Look at LORE for the reason why. No one was happy when it started and the only choices were Praetroian NPC. Now on Beta they have more than a dozen new types to chose from and everyone is STILL not satisfied. I think its best to avoid using any of the hero or villain NPC groups as minions.. no matter how many we get some one's favorite group will be left out and they will be here screaming for it to be added.

Now if anyone would like a new idea, or maybe not so new, how about this..

We have the Animal pack now so how about a Beastmaster set

3 Wolves as the lowest level set

    2 Tigers as you enforcers

    1 Bear as your Brute

Don't want to deal with the animation to have them run on all 4's.. fine. You already have X number of heroes roaming around on 2 legs with Canine and Tiger heads so do the same with the beasts.

MM weapons could go a few ways... Whip attacks like DS would work and give the MM a sort of Circus animal trainer feel. A Rifle would make the MM look more like a big game hunter. Bow and arrow could give the MM a tribal/jungle feel or along those same lines since its something I know people have asked for how about a whole new weapon....
    three spear attacks!

Now head over to the costume designer. We already have top hats and tuxes so if you went the circus trainer route we CAn easily make them look the part. Plenty of things we can use for that big game hunter look but get to work and get us some loin clothes, ect if you go the jungle route.. something like the Shaman of the Banished Pantheon wear would work and for heaven sake make it in male AND FEMALE versions. That means coming up with a cloth or animal skin style top since a LOIN cloth doesn't come up to one's neck LOL

OH I know Adeon I just used your quote to emphasis my post. LOL I am NOT disagreeing with you Sorry if I confused anyone LOL

Now DMystic I can see you point on the Blaster .. Stalker both do good damage and both squishy but even the Stalker sets have some defenses and some even the ability to heal themselves.. blasters are ranged damage primary and melee damage secondary with a hold or immob to TRY and help you survive. Mastermind.. TANK? I have done a lot of things with my MM but grabbing the aggro on an entire 8 man team mob or the AV? Not my MMs LOL The lines shade a lot when we start talking tank, Brute and Scrapper. Tanks have the edge in HP but Brutes are a close second and deal more damage.. Like a scrapper. Tanks are a little better at Aggro management but Brutes hold their own in that area and fill in nicely when no tank is a round.

Now prior to them actually showing stalkers some love there is no way I'd even mention STALKER and SCRAPPER in the same sentance but now they can do a lot more than just be a one hit wonder. I have a couple and they can hold their own in a fight. Now as survivable as a scrapper but they will take on solo sized mobs with no problem these days.. OLD days my tactics included AS one minion and run for the front door or elevator. Then go back and do it again after everyone calmed back down LOL

The moral objection to Necromancy in most cultures is mainly because it involves desecrating the remains of the deceased. There are multiple ways for a heroic character to get around that (the simplest being that the deceased he controls came back willingly to help him).

Similarly the moral problem with summoning Demon is that they are generally portrayed as being always chaotic evil. A Heroic Mastermind could easily be working with a team of heroic demons. Or even take the vigilante route of summoning evil demons and forcing them to do good.

Really? I see no reason you can't justify any of the current MM minon sets.

Merc .. You are a small band of Special Forces working for the good of Paragon City and ultimately all mankind. The MM is the Commander and the minons are the team specialists

Ninja .. The MM is the Sensae (Sorry not sure how that's spelled ) and the ninjas are his loyal students helping to rid the city of the criminal element.

Demons .. Someone already said it. INFERNAL. Plenty of ways to explain how a Mage or priest/priestess has managed to control demons to do their bidding in the battle against evil.

Necro .. Sort of the same as demons. Nothing says the heroic MM was the one that created the undead that follow him or her. they simply found a way to control them and use them in the fight against evil.. possibly with the promise that once they have helped do enough good deeds they can finally find etenral peace/rest and stop walking the earth as rotting corpses.

Robots .. Are just too easy. Come on anyone good or bad can create robots to help them

Thugs .. Okay this one may be the biggest stretch but still very doable. The MM and minions grew up on the streets at at some point may have even been part of a gang. Later in life they reformed and now use the abilities they possess and the skills they learned on the streets to battle criminals and clean up the city.

Now for the question of sending men off to die. Okay since no one ever seems to die here (run a pile of newspapers or radios and see how many times you fight the same Council leaders.. kill em? we can't even keep em in jail) who says a fallen minon is dead? When we end up face down in a mission we either have a team mate rez us, rez ourselves, or head off to the hospital using the medical transport. If a minion falls during a battle and you resummon does a completely different minon with a different NAME appear or do you get the same minon back that dropped with all the same powers? Okay since we all know the answer .. The minon was defeated, the medical transport wisked them off to the hospital, and the MM just happens to have a handy teleporter that allows them to tp their troops back into the battle instead of having to wait for them to run, jump or fly back like our team mates do. Again this can be explained in a variety of RP ways that make perfect sense... Magically by casting a teleportaion spell or through the use of Science/technology by clicking a hidden device that teleports them using the same technology we got from the Rikti that transports us to the hospital.

I do like the idea of a heroic version of an MM where the Pets provide some limited damage but do a lot more in the way of buffing/bebuff/hold and the MM is the main damage dealer. Call them Sidekicks, students, comrades in arms or whatever you like. Thing is if we suddenly provide heros with a version of the MM then what do we give Villains to balance it?

    Tank (Hero) .. Brute (Villian)
Scrapper (Hero) ... Stalker (Villian) *okay its a stretch but they are both melee*
    Controller(Hero) .. Dominator (Villain)
    Defender(Hero) .. Corruptor (Villian)
    Blaster(Hero) ... ???
    ??? ... MasterMind(Villain)

And of course each side has two epic types though very different in powers etc. So if we give heroes a Mastermind set we need to come up with a Blaster set for villains so things stay even.

Of course as also mentioned these days all 14 different ATs can eventually be on either side through by switching sides. All but the epics can do the same thing by starting in Praetoria. I have a 50 level Bots/DM Mastermind that started there and until she became a Vigilante had never set foot in the Rogue Isles.

Maybe 2 mins is too fast as not everyone will be running IO Sets (game is based around SO's).

Alternatively/in addition have it so the reactor AUTOMATICALLY takes damage (the foe's damaged a cooling rod, etc) and we HAVE to use those glowies to stop the reactor from further damage - not to heal it.

And at the end give us an EB/AV based on team size.
Okay I found the Wiki section that talks about spawns

    http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Terra_...fication_Trial

As you can see there are plenty of waves..
    • Wave 1 - Upon opening the door to the reactor (Single spawn)
    • Wave 2 - 1 minute mark (Single spawn)
    • Wave 3 - 3 minute mark
    • Wave 4 - 6 minute mark
    • Wave 5 - 8.5 minute mark (Comes 30 seconds early)
    • Wave 6 - 12 minute mark
    • Wave 7 - 15 minute mark
    • Wave 8 - 18 minute mark
    • Wave 9 - 20 minute mark (Comes 1 minute early)
    • Wave 10 - 24 minute mark
    • Wave 11 - 30 minute mark
Now to be perfectly honest I am wondering how dated this info is because I just did the 2nd respec this past week and it seems like a lot more time is passing than 2 minute here and 3 minutes there before another wave arrives. I am wondering if at some point they started combining waves so there were still technically 11 but with fewer spawn times.. Most "waves" consist of mobs appearing at two seperate doors so I am thinking maybe now instead of wave 1 arriving when we do and wave 2 showing up one minute later... Wave one and two arrive when we enter and then we don't see another attack until the three minute mark?

Anyway the point is the only reason a TIME exists is because at some point some Dev created one. The Red side respec is a direct opposite with no timed spawns at all.. Take out the vines and defeat the thorn tree and your done. I have done it with a 4 man team red side and we finished in no time.

As I mentioned in previous posts the IOs and now even incarnate powers have made taking out waves almost a joke. By the time you get to respec 2 .. all you need is one player on the team, to lead, that is at of above 43 and everyone is level 43. Now with SSK we also gained the ability to keep 5 levels of powers and slots about anything we exemplar down to do so on a 2nd respec I keep powers and slots to level 48 .. in other words my 50 level loses exactly 1 power(taken at 49) and three enhancement slots. All of my IOs still work to capacity so I am really overpowering anything I face.

Oh the third respec I AM at 50(+1) with all of my incarnate powers in place and as mentioned the rikti just sort of dissolve when 4 judgement attacks hit them at one time.

Realistically the only one that presents a remote challenge is the first since we exemplar down to a max of 33.. Now add those 5 powers/levels and you keep everything up to level 38... so all you lose are your epic powers at 41, 44, 47 and 49.

eliminate the set timer for spawn. If we get 11 waves give us 11 waves to fight. Wave one on arrive. Wave two one minute after we finish wave one or maybe 90 seconds so we have time to recover a bit of end and get back outside and get our protective bubble back as required. Then just continue that way. 90 seconds after wave two start wave three and keep going until wave 11 hits. Lets say it takes us a minute to defeat a wave.. thats 11 minute.. now 90 second between each wave .. thats about 15 minutes for a total of 26. We'd have only short periods of non activity and we'd still be close to that precious 30 minute mark someone dreamed up years ago LOL

You do which was stated earlier. The level of the mobs affects the end bonus received.. So if you have difficulty set at +4 you will get a larger end bonus that if you were sat at +0. Mob size and Fight or don't fight bosses does nothing to enhance that total.

You obviously make more XP during the mission if you are defeating Bosses instead of lieutenants because.. ........they award more! The same is true if you are at X8 rather than X0. End bonus will not be affected but you will make a lot more XP during the mission because the mob sizes will be greater .. Taking out 30 minons in a spot where at X0 there might have only be 10 means a lot more XP.

and since we are going more by anime asian history than real japanese history, im sure we could indulge in some artistic alterations. there certainly are aspects in folklore that allow for a powerful female character even in more traditional times in japan. the character of the shamanic princess himiko certainly pops up a lot and she may or may not have even existed. similarly in the kojiki(a shinto creation story) inzunagi, the chief creation god is opposed by his equally powerful deceased former wife, inzunami. so a re-tool of her could also work well, if we are going strictly japanese. one dodge i had suggested with my future japan, global environmental damage had cause mass migrations from korea and mainland china to japan, that way we can use the guild wars method of "lets take the cool stuff from all 3 histories and jumble it up" not great for puritst, but if i get my zone, ill be good.
NO I certainly don't have you on ignore LOL Love some of your ideas NOW if we can just get the Dev team to pay attention to us ... keeping in mind THEY asked us to VOTE years ago on what we'd like to see next in game and we are STILL waiting on our Moon base. I think they decided to go another way.

I especially like the Dragon Monster/AV idea, and while it would be good to see a little more gender diversity amongst AVs, but due to the rather...<ahem>... misogynist culture of Japan, powerful and respected women were few and far between.

Dang I didnt realize the Tsoo were Chinese. [must research more ] Still both cultures had their periods where war lords ruled and both revere dragons and pay omage to their ancestors so it would still work we just need to switch countries LOL Oh and yeah the idea of a female AV in that setting wouldn't work well. Oh that's true Bill and they could also incorporate some stuff on Hequat of the Mu and even Lilitu of the Circle of Thorns in that. The missions we see them in always seem to be jungle like settings so why not base their characters somewhere in the darkest parts of Africa? An epic battle between a variety of Magic based villains and we get stuck in the middle trying to prevent the holocost that would erupt if they continue. The whole thing could run though the Midnighter's club as they send us off to prevent their war from totally destroying the earth and we could even find a way to encorporate the beginnings of Adamastor and how he came to serve the Banish Pantheon.

heheh just determined to get that MOON base in aren't you Forbin? Okay I like this idea it give people the moon base we voted on years ago and never saw and the underwater world someone dreamed up after that one mission in Cimerora let them swim below the surface of a pool. But can we PLEASE get a break from 5th Column/Council?

We already has.. Moonfire, Hess and Citadel TF pitting us against Council and the ITF and Kahn/Barracuda sending us off to stop the 5th column. I think 6 TF/SFs revolving around basically the SAME villain group aside from the color of their outfits is enough already LOL

Lets invent some new group(s) to battle in Atlantis and on the moon. Maybe we could use the Coralax in some way under the sea. It would take a little tweeking since you don't see much of them beyond level 30 but they are sea creatures. We could dream up some Mermen villains as well (and a crab that sings Calipso tunes can lead them .. Oh no Disney would sue us. Scratch that idea hehehe)

[Doctor Evil breaks into the thread: "Sharks with friggin laser beams attached to their heads!"] * Sorry that thought just hit me and I HAD to do it LOL *

But back to reality (sort of) we could sort of base the Atlantians on SG-1.. We discover a small city beneath the oceans with the remains of an ancient alien race that all had super powers. At some point they realized the humans were worshiping them like gods and they moved the majority of their race to a secret moon base. IF we have to we can add a 5TH column base up there too since its supposedly where they went to regroup after the Council overthrew their leaders. But the Coop TF should be centered around the Atlantians NOT the column. Maybe after years of hiding an evil faction is tired of hiding and wants to return to earth and actually LIKES the idea of turning us all into mindless worshipping slaves. We'd work for the good faction in seeking out and stopping their leader before SHE could carry out the plan.. HEY I am tired of you guys getting all the AVs .. let's have a FEMALE arch Villain. Okay if it sells you on the idea more she can wear a skimpy outfit and look sexy .. Can someone come and clean up all this drool I just created with that last comment?

We could say the remaining underwater base is sort of a observation post where the Atlantians keep an eye on us and it could even be the site of the final battle of the TF.. The Villains manage to transport down and plan to launch their invasion of earth from there and it's up to us to stop it.

    Ancient Japan!

This is a pretty good idea And we have a basis for it in place through the Tsoo and their relationship with their Ancient Spirits. Set something up to time travel back, again through the Midnighters club (more on why in a sec) and we arrive in ancient japan where a War Lord is attempting to unite the various Tsoo clans to make them more powerful. the result if not stopped could be a complete change in the history of Japan and the Tsoo being much more powerful and more of a threat in modern times than they are now. [I used the Midnighter Club as a starting point because the Tsoo do practice magic so who better to ask us to help stop them].

A Coop TF could pit us against various Tsoo leaders (AVs) and ultimately a battle against the War Lord himself. Now here's a twist ... in Cimerora we discovered 5th Column and Nictus causing the unrest and creating the situation that makes it necessary for us to go and stop Romulus. In this zone how about we utilize Darrin Wade and a group of Ex-midnighters. Darrin is described as an Ex Midnighter himself that left with a number of stolen artifacts. Along with his associates he has traveled back in time to aid the TSoo and form an alliance that ultimately could allow him to destroy the Midnighters in our present. Depending on when all that would take place it could have even greater effects since most of the Omega team that stopped the Rikti invasion were Midnighters.. no Midnighters Club .. No Omega team ... and we are all Rikti slaves!

One more suggestion.. Let's add a new Giant Monster to the zone. The Japanese view dragons as a source of power and magic so let's add a dragon with fire and some magic attacks. Before the posts start.. Yes I know the Devs say that adding animals that walk on 4 legs isn't feasible, or whatever, but not all dragons walk on four legs.. I have seen plenty of drawings, ect where a dragon walked upright on two legs similar to a man. Heck some dragons have even been depicted as shape shifters that can assume human form.. How about we make the War Lord in the TF a shape shifting dragon. Defeat him once and when he arises he takes on Dragon form to battle the TF again. Then have a similar dragon, the Spirit of a defeated war lord, appear from time to time in zone to be battled seperately.

Quinch Sorry but there just are not that many comic books or cartoons that revolve around super heroes in Africa. About the only one I can recall is the old Phantom cartoons and those were never as popular as Batman, Spidy or Superman. Thanks to Anime there is just a lot more interest in anything oriental.

At first I didn't think this would make a lot of difference but then i thought about the powers. It almost seems like they purposely attached the level shifts to the powers we use less.

Not that there is anything wrong with the buff from Destiny but its fairly short lived and pets simply don't work well with certain AT.. I am currently running my TANKER through the trials and YEAH I use my 2 seers a LOT (sarcasm).

Judement is a mini nuke that recharges quickly and doesn't drain end horribly and Interface provides a debuff and added damage to most attacks. Both of these are great when facing huge mobs of 54 level villians. So at this point what does my tanker have? Tier 3 in both Lore and Destiny for the level shifts and tier 1 in Judgement. Hopefully with a couple trials later today i can finally slot interface.. its open but nothing in it yet. I was busy working on my level shifts.
  17. Get with someone from COH tech support that sounds awful. To the best of my knowledge there is no on going bug like that in pocket D... heck i was in one of 15 Pocket Ds on Freedom during the Praetorian event and had no problem. If it didnt happen there with over 4000 people logged onto the server I can't imagine it happening anywhere else.

They worked with me to straighten out an issue I had and will even show you places to download programs to analyze your computer to try and solve the problem. Good luck Hope it works out okay

¿This individual is a Fire Tanker? if so, i must be very careful now. I saw how he even kick some other players that were playing there archetypes like it is without no reason. Well if this is the same person I'm thinking, i wasn't exaggerating for sure about some things i didn't like about his attitude.
To be honest I can't really recall if he was a Fire Tank or not Yunalesca. But if you have teamed with him you'd recognize his tactics(?) He has "FOLLOW THE TANK" as either a bind or a Macro and hits it over and over as he runs through missions. Also loves to herd which wouldn't be a bad thing if he didn't try to herd entire floors at once and overwhelms the capacity of any team to cope with the huge mobs headed toward them. I can't recall the exact wording but he has a second bind or macro he uses when he is set to herd that is something like.. "HERDING TO HERE DON"T FOLLOW ME"

Now I only lasted with him for one mission before I declined his SG invite and was dropped so I am not sure about him kicking players for not playing their ATs the way he felt they should but considering his RULES for his SG It wouldn't suprise me one bit. He is a micromanager and basically a sleeze ball. We need a Dev to give him one of those yellow tags to float above his head for the rest of his life that says.. Avoid contact .. Player is insane

    WST Suggestion

I understand what you are saying Artic but the fact is in most cases even if there is one or two players on a trial that NEED the respec they are probably teaming with a bunch of 50 +s only after a badge they don't have or some quick merits. While I personally don't enjoy coasting those players could easily sit and watch the others handle the mobs until Mission Complete.

I can remember years ago before midi's, before forum guides, etc .. having friends that desperately needed a respec at 24 and because things were different back then would have to do the thing 4 or 5 times before succeeding. These days? I haven't heard of anyone doing a respec RED or BLUE side that failed.

One thing I have heard from Rogues doing the respecs that have been the WST lately is.. "The TRESPEC red side is much better." Of course it is! You can stealth to the final chamber, take out the COT around the edge and start killing vines. There's no 5 minute wait for a spawn.. when you kill enough vines go defeat the Thorn tree and your done. No one has to battle through X number of rooms to find the key, no one has keep running back to get a protective red bubble, and no one has to wait around for 5 minutes before the next wave of attackers arrive. With all the ways there are to earn merits these days are 13 extra merits really worth the added time we are forced to waste running in circles waiting for the Rikti, Freakshow or Skyraiders to finish their coffee break and attack us again? lol considering some of the comments i have heard this week doing the 2nd respec I'd say the answer to that would probably be N O.

Probably doesn't matter anyway.. with all the attention on issue 21 and beyond and a ton of other issues to deal with in game I doubt we will see a drastic revamp of the Terra Volta trial any time soon.

original items of power are basically nonexistent now

To expand a bit.. the temp power is a 7 day long buff for your character based on what the old Items of Power used to do. The difference is now its an individual award not something the entire SG earns. But if you do one COP a week with your main you can keep it constantly buffed with something .. more damage, more defense.. whatever it decides to give.

How up to speed are you on the basics of the trial?

    Quick and dirty version..

three teams enter the teleporter and arrive in the trial zone.

Each team should take one of the psonic resonators and attack the Willforge that spawns Soldiers of Rularuu. When these are all defeated the barrier will shatter and the resonator can be attacked.

Coordination is key here because all 3 resonators must be destroyed within about 10 seconds of each other or they respawn at 100% and so do the Rularuu that protect them. Forming a league allows easier communication than was available before to help coordiante this but trust me just like the Incarnate trials players will NOT follow instructions and normally you'll need to destroy them more than once. LOL

Once all three are down you open access to the treasure room. inside again you will break off and attack three more willforges defeating the Rularuu. When they are all down the barrier will shatter and you can attack the Aspect of Rularuu. He has incredible regen so anything your teams have available than can debuff it should be used as often as possible. While they prohibited the use of Warburg Nukes you can use other temp powers like Shivan etc to assist with this.

It will probably take a few tries before defeating the Aspect. After a set time (Supposedly about 1 minute) the shield restore and more Soldiers spawn.. Defeat them again to break the shield and attack the Aspect again until he is defeated. make sure the teams know that the faster the Rularuu are defeated the quicker you get back to attacking the AV.. if the Rularuu around their Willforge are down go help take out the ones at the others. They are not that far away and unlike the Lamdba trial there is no cutscene they can run outside to dance in while the other teams are struggling. A helpful reminder for them may be this.. None of the Soldiers of Rularuu defeated award XP, INF, salvage or recipes. There is a huge end bonus awarded when the AV is defeated but ONLY if he is defeated. If they want to screw around and not cooperate .. then they will waste about an hour of play time and get absolutely NOTHING for it.

I know it sounds a little complicated but I hook up with an SG that runs these every weekend and we have it down to a point where we can complete the entire trial in 17 or 18 minutes and that is with mess ups on the resonators outside.

That was pretty quick .. if you want more detail check Paragon Wiki or do a search here.. i know one of the SGs I have run the trial with has a leader that has put together a guide.

Good hunting .. It's a lot of fun and when done right can be very quick!

    WST Suggestion

Why do we need to wait for them to decide to make it the WST? Spawn times are rediculous especially now that in most case even if someone is doing the ist respec against the Skyraiders they have IOs in power slots. We kill stuff off so fast we could take bio breaks, eat a meal or even run to the corner store for smokes between attacks.

I forget exactly where but I saw the break down on Paragon Wiki and basically the whole thing is designed to ensure we spend at LEAST 30 minutes inside the reactor once we step inside. Now years ago when the best anyone had was SOs and strategy was huddle around the reactor and protect which meant every single member of every mob got close enough to attack it. Now we patrol the upper walkways and most of the time the mobs never even get a glimpse of the reactor let alone a chance to shoot at it.

It has gone from being a nerve racking battle to keep the reactor from blowing to a mind numbing exercise in fighting boredom. It's much worse one the 3rd respec against Rikti.. All it takes is one member at level 50 to lead and suddenly all the 50s are 50 (+1) and I watched whole mobs disintegrate when 5 of us hit judgement at one time. Then we call Dominos and order a pizza, break out a deck of cards and play black jack until the next wave arrives so we we totally destroy them too.

At some point when we all were not as powerful and strategy hadn't evolved the long waits between waves helped us clean up the mobs and hopefully recover health and end before the next arrived.. NOW it 1 minute of fighting followed by 4, 5 or even more minutes of BSing to fill the time.

Cut the wait times and let us finish the thing. Who cares how long we stay inside?

    "No thanks.

There are some decent third party team chats out there - use those.

But please don't add a tool to this game that others will "demand" I use, even when I don't want to do so. I hate listening to the sound of my own voice, and I also think that hearing the voices of others who don't match my mental picture of how the character should sound would take some enjoyment away from the game for me.

And frankly, there really isn't much in the game that requires tight coordination of a team provided by teamspeak."

"Ever been to a team where everyone but you is on voice chat? Yeah, it's not fun. Right now, such things are rare, restricted mostly to people who know each other. Build it into the game, though, and they will not be.

That, and I don't enjoy voice chatting with strangers. However, I KNOW there will be pressure to voice chat anyway. I voice chat with my friends and family. That's it, that's the extent of it. Since English is not my first language, I'd rather not resort to it over something as trivial as that. And I don't want people with English worse than mine to be pressured, either. Nor do I actually want to LISTEN to people with English worse than mine."

EDIT: Forgot to mention bandwidth concerns.
I agree. While this seems like a nice idea on the surface not everyone out there wants to hear who knows what coming out over their speakers. I have my computer set up in a corner of the living room.. My daughter can be no more that 15 feet away watching TV while I am on line and My Mother lives with us now. I don't need a thirty second long profanity laced rant coming out of my speakers if someone on the team screws up and dies. And before the OBVIOUS reply to this post appears.. No I don't particularly want to constantly wear a head set either. I don't want my family subjected to it and I certainly don't need some immature jerk screaming in my ear because his troller got PWNZed by the Elite Boss he found wandering away from the rest of the team.

And before you tell me it wouldn't happen ......if they are willing to take the time to type it in in ALL CAPITAL letters now what on earth makes you think they won't scream it out loud over a voice system?

OMG yes. I didn't really examine the web site as much until I saw Xzero's post. I have had dealings with the IDIOT that is in charge of this group. He loves to invite low level characters to teams, usually in PI, and then after a mission or two .. from what I have heard sometimes even during a mission the TELL arrives asking if you want to join a really GREAT SG.

Well in my case my 5 level had to inform him I was already a member of an SG and one of its leaders. Now I did nothing else wrong and was even polite in declining his offer.. I said I was sorry but I was a leader of another SG. I was KICKED off the team in the middle of Peregrine Island and Mister TACTFUL wouldn't even respond back to my tells when I asked what had happened. I came here to the forums and told my story and LOW AND BEHOLD.. he does that crap all the time. I guess he's too STUPID to realize a 60+ month Vet that already belongs to an SG might actually have a Base teleporter.. probably figured I would be trapped there and maybe even BEG him to let me join his SG so he'd rescue me. He's on my global ignore list now and if you are smart he'll be on your's as well. Oh by the way he is quite possibly the worst TANK I have ever teamed with I wouldn't even team with him again let alone join an SG he runs. You are not missing a thing from avoiding him and frankly I am amazed he has anyone willing to adhere to that list of BS rules he came up with. I put opver 20 years in the Military and the rules and regulations we had were not that insanely strict. AVOID contact with him at all costs

This is their policies and procedures page -> http://unknownheroes.guildportal.com...&TabID=2611995

Just a few great highlights from their rules. You can get kicked from the supergroup for failures to obey "direct" orders, treason/betrayal, and security violations. You must use the term "willing to help" instead of "LFT" because lft is spam. You cannot advertise a team or TF group unless a sg member is the leader. Then there are the forum rules; here is a good taste "no non sg affiliated logos, banners, icons, avatars or other forums of propaganda is allowed in the forums." If you are on their vent channel you can be banned and removed from the sg for playing a villain. People who hold leader ranks in the sg cannot have a toon in any other sg for security reasons. If you are suspected of being a threat to sg security, stability or loyalty you are demoted while the highest ranking leaders open an investigation.

Like I said, thats just a few of the very hilarious rules and regulations that they set on their sg members. So.....supergroup or cult?

MY My but someone is extremely obsessed aren't they? NO most SGs do not have a list of rules (???) like that. Good grief if I am on a team that is forming to run a Task Force or a trial and I belong to six or seven different globals that players use to look for teams I am always willing to help the leader by advertising.. And here's the flaw/insanity in that little rule .. If I help that team get to 8 people and we run the TF successfully then every one of those players i helped recruit just added prestige to the SG. I have to wonder just what "Direct Orders" we are talking about here. I have run or helped run SGs for years and never recall giving anyone an ORDER to do anything.... There are literally thousands of SGs out there and these days the need to even belong to one has diminished greatly. We sure don't require them to transport quickly anywhere these days. Global channels have made finding teams easier so the "We have lots of members you can team with" approach isn't nearly as effective as it once was. Frankly if a player wants to join an SG .. that group should be thrilled to have the added prestige earner.. Not coming up with a thousand rules that MUST be adhered to or we will dismiss you.

Your better off without them.. IMO their entire membership would be better off without them. Someone in "charge" over there has serious control issues.
