Quote:Valid for whom? Who's the first person you'd listen to if there were two groups of people: One group says they don't like a feature. The other group also says they don't like it, but they come up with a list of things that would be better. If you say the first group, you're not trying very hard to listen to the community, and that's what some folks are accusing the Devs of right now.No, you *can* just say you flat out don't like it. Perfectly valid statement to make, and leave as is.
If I said I didn't like something, and offered nothing better, how is anyone supposed to fix it? To the people that made it, it's fine. If you've got a better idea, feel free to bring it up, and they might think it's better as well and make some changes.
Being a curmudgeon, sitting on the rocker saying "This stinks. That's lame. They could do better...." all day fosters nothing but negativeness. Being negative doesn't make the game better. You can't take something away and not substitute something in it's place, or why bother with the exorcism in the first place? I doubt that there's more than a handful of players that would be happier with less than have something different, if they're clamoring for a change. -
Quote:If you're going to subtract something because you don't like it, you should substitute something better (in your opinion) in it's place to fix it. The question posed to you was simple: If you don't find those things "epic enough," what would you propose for a storyline instead?Oh no that is quite ok. No need to apologize. It wasn't your fault.
On top of not requiring you to apologize, allow me to clarify my post. I am obviously not very bright and I have come across one our generations most brilliant individuals in you. So, obviously, I have I did not make my point.
My concern is stopping a science lab and weapons depot is a significant enough event to unlock our god-like powers. Sure, we battle giant robots and some AVs but the actual event is stopping a weapons depot and a experimentation facility with the subjects escaping.
The Sutter TF is to stop yet another wave of the Goatees from invading Primal Earth. The environment is kinda blah and not too exciting. The SF just seems like something underwhelming.
Again, I humbly apologize for having my own thoughts and opinions. I don't know what I was thinking. I clearly must not have a fully developed brain...how could I...I made a comment that did not agree with yours. What a fool I am. Me so sad
Also, if you're gonna start a thread, it really doesn't help your cause to go ultra defensive at the first response to it. You're the only one that saw something negative in it. -

Are you suggesting not being warned first so you can just stand there and take the damage? Keep in mind that not all attacks you get warned about have nice targeting reticules laid out on the ground for you to avoid. And when you're in the middle of a large group, with F/X going off everywhere, you're more likely not to notice when something's got your number.

Quote:Care to enlighten the rest of the class what those contributions might be, or am I to take your word for it? Keep in mind, I'm not the one trying to tear down another player's status by saying "They're no better than me" so it doesn't matter what I've done. I haven't made any claims one way or the other.
Sure have, thanks for asking.
The rest of your response is great backpedaling technique. Kudos to you. -
SCA, eh? What kingdom? I'm part of Gleann Abhann. Specifically, Shadow Legion.
Welcome to Champion. -
I needs to get on one of these with you guys. I haven't been on a successful Lambda yet (though only tried twice so far, and once in Beta where no one had a clue).

When you said large patch, you weren't kidding...
I hope the Instant Army souvenir gets awarded retroactively....I just finished that arc on a character a couple of days ago :/
Lots of good stuff. Nice to know you guys aren't all working on just Incarnate content (I know you're not, but several folks are convinced the rest of the game is gonna die a slow death). -
If there's not an extra medal for Chewbacca I don't want it.

Quote:No, what you did was take offense that someone would dare trust one player over another (or really, you, when it comes down to it). You've been trying to defend your position ever since by making her out to be someone seeking attention and downplaying her obvious contributions to the game. Sorry if none of the rest of us follow that same train of thought. There are tangible fingerprints in the game of her unsolicited work. Have you contributed anything besides posting in a forum?Scroll up, I actually didn't bring Arcana up first and subsequent to that, I replied to posts that were also made in reference to her - and that were directed at me.
And since then, Arcana has been addressing me. Should I have ignored her in the interests of satisfying your sense of justice?
Never said you started it originally, just your response when someone else brought up her past accomplishments. -
I just think it's funny that MyLexicon has been bringing up "It's not about you, Arcana" in almost every reply, yet it was he that brought up the discussion in the first place, and has kept it squarely about Arcana since.

With all the AoEs going off all around you from teammates, you still can't get Oil Slick to light?
Now that's just sad. You should make yet another thread in a less appropriate place and bring this up again. I don't think the Mods have heard you yet. -

I'd rather they fix the new ones. The new ones look 100x better. -
Quote:You're missing the big point, man.By your reasoning, why not allow the Origins then? And they ARE unbalancing because you have to pay for the advantage.
THERE IS NO ADVANTAGE to having Ninja Run, or not having it, in these trials. The maps are too small to make a difference how fast you get somewhere. -

Quote:Third party websites are not the place to discuss what's wrong with a game, outside of the "what would you do differently?" question that usually gets asked. You were setting yourself up to be disappointed.I am disappointed that there has been no update on the rewards issue today on the forums nor in the article. I would expect us not to air our dirty laundry in public (shame on you Venture). But since I did not see any substantive posts from Devs or Community on the issue, I held out hope that something would be mentioned in the article.

Quote:Not that I was expecting anything else from a puff piece (hey, it's nice to get the word out that the game is still alive I guess) but I hope that there's some frank discussion going on about what is wrong with the endgame, and what will be done to fix that. -
It's a better form of it. You have to pay attention to what you're doing or you'll never get them both down. It's taken the mindless part of fighting one AV, or splitting a pair or group of them up so you can thin the herd one at a time out of the equation.

Quote:"More of the same" could mean more than one thing. We'll get more Incarnate content, but it doesn't necessarily have to be more of what we're already seeing (Trials). It could just simply mean we'll be getting more of the same idea that the Incarnate system represents, which Arcana eluded to: a departure from the old 50 content and how you run it. They could find a way to give us content meant for smaller groups than these Trials require, and still make it meaningfully different than running Maria Jenkins' arc over and over, for example, which is what most folks did for kicks because the AVs were the toughest challenge in the game at the time. Are you saying that we're likely to just get more of the same in the future - more choreographed multi-team trials, repeated a dozen or more times to unlock and slot new boosts? Is this sort of thing all I can expect from the future Incarnate content?
You will not be able to unlock further slots without some measure of commitment, but that doesn't have to mean grinding. They might allow us to add the BAF and Lambda to the list of future tasks that will unlock further slots, to give more variety in how you unlock them, which would alleviate much of the complaints we're seeing now (only having two things that can unlock slots quickly). -
There are also Olympian Guards in the Free Statesman mish at the end of Maria's arc, but they look like the old Tyrant. These must be the updated look, and I bet they fight the same.
That helmet really reminds me of a Cylon. -
Quote:This is already the case, I thought. Aside from being able to start one solo, that is. You can already just invite enough to start, drop them, and fight spawns set at the TFs minimum. This was a change from several Issues ago (when Posi got revamped, I believe, but it might have been before that). My idea was this:
Allow the TFs to be soloable, but the AVs will not downgrade, and the old minimum team size becomes the new minimum spawn size.
Want to solo a Posi 1? Fine, you still fight three peoples' worth of enemies.
Want to solo a Lady Grey? You better be able to handle x8 Rikti and all the AVs. -
Quote:In the replies above nobody addressed the core of my OP. Why the matching of higher level requiring more people on all TFs? Why can't we have some high level content built for small teams, and more low level content built for big ones (The hollows trial is the only one I can think of)? It is easier to build groups at lower levels since people can examplar. It is harder to build groups at higher levels, especially for casual or semi-casual players on smaller servers.
The idea that there are more lower level characters at this stage in the game's life is becoming obsolete. For example, I have more 50's than everything else put together, and I'm far from the only one. It's very easy to go steaming through the lower levels as you gain XP, so you're not hanging around those low levels as long unless you choose to, whereas there are more people in the 40s because it takes longer to level at that range.
There are also plenty of folks that are running high level TFs with small groups, duos, or even solo. You don't need a full team, just a full group of fillers, which isn't that hard to find, comparatively.
