Wasn't there some question of being able to survive having the Intersect downloaded into your brain?
-
I don't think it was an Intersect. Ellie certainly wasn't acting like she was getting a download and if it was an Intersect Ellie wouldn't have been the only one getting it since Awesome was right there next to her.

Oh, I'd say Spike had his emo-ish moments though those were mostly in the last season when the First was screwing with his head.

You mean Hurley isn't going to be Tattoo on a new Fantasy Island?

The screen's only big enough for one frog and he doesn't work for Disney.

The Slade thing was just part of the bigger problem the show has which is really bad writing. I thought some of the dialogue in this episode was just awful. Stuff happens off screen that we ought to see, like A.C. being captured. Then there are the inconsistencies like Slade indicating that they had no problem catching A.C. because his weakness is so obvious but then they apparently can't stop Mera despite her having the same obvious weakness. And let's not forget Mera's attitude towards Lois doing a 180 for virtually no reason at all. Lois shows up and Mera is a complete ***** to her but Lois comes in handy once and suddenly Mera acts like they're BFFs. Or the fact that Mera is shown to be wearing a swimsuit beneath her wetsuit right up until Lois shows up at which point Mera has ditched the swimsuit just so she can strip naked in front of Lois while changing.

Quote:Except that the Suicide Squad is on the other side. Given that they're the ones committing terrorist acts in opposition to the VRA I don't think they'll be trying to recruit Slade any time soon. And why would you use someone that age as a test subject for the drug when you could use it on someone in their physical prime instead? Slade is a "seasoned military veteran" who's been sitting behind a desk for decades while the military is full of men in their prime with recent combat experience from the Gulf War, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Slade, as presented on Smallville, is far from an optimal test subject for any type of supersoldier experiment. He is, however, a seasoned military veteran who now has plausible deniability for his death. Making him a good fit for the Suicide Squad and a test subject for a regenerative/age-reducing new drug. After all, if your drug can work on a person of that age, think what it can do for someone in their prime.

Which would make no sense. If you're going to create a supersoldier you don't start with an old man. Of course little else made sense in this episode so why would they start with Slade.
-
Slade served in Korea so he'd be 70ish now but he's also got one of those magical healing factors that retards the aging process so he shouldn't look his age. (And yes I know his healing factor comes from a scientific experiment and isn't actually magical.)

So they've turned writing duty over to a room full of monkeys with typewriters?

You'd think people had never seen her in a thong before.

I think the new season is off to a good start though I was a bit disappointed that last season's cliffhanger ending was resolved in the pre-credits intro rather than it basically being a 2-part episode. Also missed Bear McCreary's score. The new music just isn't as good as his. I like the addition of Ilsa Pucci. Not sure how I feel about Ames yet but I'm willing to give her a few episodes to see how it goes.

Quote:Yeah, they really ought to give G'nort his own movie.I was about to say. I very specifically remember Hal even constructing missiles with billowing green trails rather than simply shooting beams at stuff. That said, Kyle's always been way over the top with his constructs, often bordering on retarded. But then again, there's only one true GL and it's neither of the above.

I don't think the purpose of the PSP was to suppress the Intersect. My money is still on it being an upload of Orion's files, you know he would have created one for his own use if nothing else, and the suppression of the Intersect is a side effect. (Perhaps why he didn't want to use it on Chuck.)
I hope this is one Greta who will return later. I'd love to see her square off against Casey. -

Quote:Throw in Danny and make it a Heroes For Hire show and I'd watch it.They should've went with a Luke Cage tv show. Super Strength, Invulnerable (But not at Superman levels so he's not impossible to hurt) and he's easy on the budget since he doesn't need to transform.
He's also well known enough that comic readers would know who he is and watch but unknown enough that you can be flexible with his stories. There's also lots of room for cameos from other Marvel characters from the A-listers to D-listers. -
