Quote:That's good to hear. After playing with the build for quite a while I managed to get those numbers while keeping my S/L/E/N defences all at around 33% or more. I play blasters a LOT, so I'm very used to keeping purples running to avoid going squat all the time. I figured if I get the 33% mark I can keep one purple popped all the time and effectively be on softcap to all four types. I don't care about F/C really, it's extremely rare damage types and if I happen to come accross them I'll just have to pop more purples :PThat's pretty solid actually. At 2206 you're only 200 HP below scrapper HP cap, and 700% is better than a lot of Regen's passive regeneration (granted, that is just with Integration running)
You could do better, but those totals are by no means gimped.
EDIT: Not to mention Dual Blades have some damage mitigation with the Knock Down combos, that always helps :-) -
Another quick question. Is 2206.855 Max HP and 700% Regen rate (with only one person in RttC range) acceptable? When RttC fully saturated Regen rate goes up to 1151%.
-
Thanks a lot for the answer. But a very quick note I got from your post is that it would make much more sense to aim for 33% rather than 30% so that one small purple would put you on softcap. Also, the 9% Global accuracy bonus from the Oblitz set is pretty good :P
I'll go back to Mids and see what I can do to cap my N/E. Thanks again for the response. -
Ok so I've never really played any WP toons to a high level. However I'm leveling up two WP toons ATM and looking at Mids for build possibilities. So, I have a couple questions.
1) What is considered to be a "decent" accuracy rating for RttC? I'm not sure if it's auto-hit or not, but according to Mids it does have an accuracy rating. And since you can't slot accuracy directly in it, it's accuracy is dependant on global accuracy/+ToHit bonuses or if you wanna throw in one or two Lysosome Exposures in there.
2) I'm conflicted a bit about the defence ratings I should be aiming for. I usually try to aim for capped S/L and 34% Nrg/Neg or slightly more on my scrappers (unless they're /SR or /SD of course). However, with a Dual Blades primary, its kinda hard to hit those values without seriously gimping the powers in terms of damage and accuracy since DB is an extremely power pick heavy set. There maybe a way to get that of course, something I might have missed, but I still would like my actual question answered. Would it be better to give up the softcap on S/L and go with 34% on S/L/E/N (and keep a small purple inspie popped)? Or would it be better to ignore N/E defence and keep the softcap on S/L? I know the vast majority of the attacks in the game have a smashing or lethal component in them.
3) This is what I'm looking at right now...any advice appreciated:

Quote:I got a quick IO question here for u guys
Do you always want to get the highest IO u can get, or do u settle sometimes, and figure 18% recharge is not much different from 19.5% (general example).
Are u always upgrading, or do u sometimes settle for a lvl 35 IO?
I always try to slot my toons with IOs that are 33-40. That way the set bonuses can exemp down some with me on the likes of Citadel, Manti, and Numi. Or any of the shard TFs. Of course, some sets just cap at a much lower range than that, like Eradications, and basilisk gaze (caps at 30), miracle, impervium armor, reactive armor (caps at 40) to give a few examples. -
Quote:Well, you do have the Steadfast +3% Defence IO in there :PWell, Ice can soft cap to smash / lethal / energy / neg energy on SO's
Also, that's with EA hitting 11 targets. I'd much rather be softcapped without EA and have the boost from EA offset the +tohit on enemies or -def from them.
Here's my build. No where nearly as expensive as the one posted above. It's built to be a tankery tank tho, I didn't slot for damage on her.
Note that you can easily give out two of the slots in hasten and put them somewhere else, and you'll still have Perma Hoarfrost even with just one recharge IO in hasten.

Mine is Ice/Dark, and I'm building her for Softcapped Smashing/Lethal/Energy/Negative (and around 20% Fire/Cold) [All that of course not counting Energy Absorption at all], and perma Hoarfrost.
Perma Hoarfrost was the only answer I could come up with for the disgusting lack of resists and/or regen boosts in Ice Armor. -
I always log in to my Fire/Fire blaster first. He's my main toon and mostly my merit *****. But Often I do switch to other toons to compliment the team on whatever TF we're doing.
-
Only problem with confusing AVs on STF is that they tend to run around a lot, and if you don't have any immob on the team they might very well come in LoS with other AVs and they'd aggro on you. Usually not a big problem if you have a competent Tank, but on MoSTF it can be real drag if unexpected AVs show up.
-
I've seen lots of talk about Regen Aura for the Regen boost for the main tank, but none about Adrenaline Boost. It gives same amount of Regen as the Aura.
-
I have a 50 Fire/Rad and I've ran a few Fire/Rad (or just all /Rad) events before. What time do you guys run this? I'm on a EST+7 time zone so I'm thinking it would be pretty hard for me to join you guys especially since I have to be up for work at about 11 pm EST, but can always try.
Also, like someone else has mentioned in the topic before. As long as you have 4+ Rads on the team you really don't need Stamina as long as you Sync your AMs (which should be your primary goal on a /Rad team). Also, if all Frads would work on a "super team build", picking up manuevers is pretty advantageous. 8x Stacked Manuevers is about 31% Defence against everything, that's nothing to sneeze at. And if you tack Hover/Combat Jumping on top of that that's over 33% defence to everything...at which point one small purple would give you 45% defence against all types and positional damage.
On a side note: AlienOne has been wanting to do an all Frad STF for over a year now..which is the main reason I made my Fire/Rad. -
Here's how I would do it:
Would the extra defence from manuevers over Combat Jumping get me over 33% (where one small purple would softcap me), or let me hit the softcap of 45%? If the answer is yes then I'd take Manuevers. If not, I'd definitely go with CJ. Immobilization protection, some defence, and vertical movement for virtually no End cost. Yum.
Also, on a Kinetics character Endurance really shouldn't be a problem after you get Transference. I wouldn't let the End cost of a power be the reason of why I chose one power over the other in this case.
Also, Cinders = win. Despite the big recharge time on it, it's a pretty damn good power.
P.S: Have you considered slotting Brawl instead of Kick/Punch? I do that on some of my toons when I need extra powers for Kinetic Combats. -
Oh, damn! Just noticed the huge difference in duration, too. Wow lol.
-
I'm sorry I mean no offence, but that made next to no sense to me <.<
I understand it...just...didn't really make sense to me, sorry. -
This is the build I'm currently using on my Fire/Fire/Cold blaster. It has soft capped S/L defence and a LOT Of recharge, accuracy, and some nice damage bonus.
However, I have purple sets in that build. You can still use that build but replace the purple sets with the regular IO set equivalent and you'll still end up with a very good build. I'll post the build with no purple sets after this one:

I've been looking around a bit on the forums and couldn't really find an answer to this question.
I really wanna know what's the justification behind WPs Taunt aura being only a 300% taunt rather than 400% like all the other Tank primaries? Is there something I'm missing in the set that makes up for it? I've been trying to think about it and I honestly can't come up with any good answer.
I'm not asking how to "fix" this on a WP tanker to be able to hold aggro properly or a build for a WillPower tanker or anything. I know how to do that, I'm simply wondering WHY is it set to be this way. Anyone knows? -
Oh, I see now. Thank you very much for the clarification
-
Thanks for the replies guys..but my question stands. Suppose there's someone with softcapped Negative Energy and/or AoE Defence in melee range with Ghost Widow. And then he got hit with a (Power Build Up -> Fortitude) which gives him an additional ~30% defence. Will that drop the chance even more from ~11% to 5%? More particulary, how much additional defence is needed exactly? Or is that accuracy bonus of a level 53/54 AV something that we can't do anything about?
-
Just a simple question. I know that her heal is an AoE/Negative Energy attack. My question is..how much accuracy does that thing have? Is it Auto Hit?
Basically what I'm asking is...what is the amount of defence (AoE or Negative Energy) needed to reliably bring that attack's tohit chance down to 5% (if possible at all)? Is it just the regular 45% Softcap?
Thanks! -
Quote:Random thought: are your powers customized, and have you changed them since the problem started happening?
Also, do you know if this only affects you, or does it hit other people around you too?
Hmm..yeah my powers are customized... I never thought about that thing before..I'll check it out later when I get back home.
As for the lag, it only affects me, not the people around me. -
Quote:Actually it wouldn't necessarily affect all of his toons. Fire is a particularly graphics intensive power set. The higher you have your particle count set the fancier the little fire swirls and flickers get. Especially the persistent powers like Fire Cages.
Yeah. Only problem is I have two other Fire controllers (Fire/Rad and Fire/TA) that don't have this problem at all. I also have 2 other Kin toons that have no problems what so ever. -
Ultra Mode is completely disabled for me.
EDIT: Also, like mentioned. This problem is exclusive to that single toon. I have no problems what so ever with the other ones. -
Hey guys... I've been having this problem for a few months now. I partially solved it by shelving the toon for the past few months, but now I wanna start playing it again, lol. So I need to see if someone can help me with this issue.
Basically, whenever I play my Fire/Kin I have extreme lag issues the moment I start a fight. The second I hit Fire Cages my FPS goes down to next to nothing. I'm lucky if I catch 2 or 3 frames of the entire fight before I see myself dead on the ground. I can't activate any powers, nor I can do anything or pop any inspirations or do anything at all, rendering that character completely unplayable. I tried using unloadgfx and sync and reloadgfx and a bunch of other stuff. No help at all.
Weirdest thing is, that problem is completely exclusive to my Fire/Kin. I have absolutely no issues playing my other toons. Including my my other Fire controller (Fire/Rad). Hell, I've been on an All controller STF before where we had 3 Ill controllers (5 pets per), 2 Fire controllers (3 pets per, plus hot feet and choking cloud) and 2 Earth controllers (massive graphics) on the team and I"ve had absolutely no lag issues at all. So I know the problem isn't my graphics card (a built in intel graphics card, BTW).
Also, I think it's worthy of mention that this problem started out of no where a few months back. I used to be able to play my Fire/Kin normally with no lag issues at all.
Anyone has any ideas why is this happening? It's been annoying me so much I"m considering just deleting the toon all together...but I really enjoy playing my Fire/Kin. Not just because he's my farmer toon, but playing him is actually fun on missions/TFs as well. So, any kind of suggestions or help would be really helpful.
Thanks a lot -
