Heated discussion?
Drago kills him in the ring.
Only reason Rocky lost to Lang was because he wasn't training seriously because he was "on top of the world". -
I'm back to the game after a year long break...and I'm very excited to be back.
Got my controller working for the game and it's like a new game to me.
I have my concept character and I want him min/maxed, geared for AV soloing, while still staying in concept...if possible.
So, here is the build...feel free to take some liberty with it...but please try as best you can to keep it within concept.

However, I am curious...is there anyway that I can set up my controller so that the four face buttons can be the first four attacks...and then pressing R1+the four face buttons for four different attacks?

Quote:I've found my PS3-like controller to work pretty damn good. Of course, I still have to use my mouse for clicking on contacts opening doors and what not...but the rest of the game play is done with the controller...which has more than enough buttons for what I'm trying to do.I did try using a joystick back in 2005 and whilst possible CoH like most PC games is designed to be played using mouse and keyboard and this doesn't tend to translate well to using a joystick but by all means try it.
The buttons will map to either JOY**** or the same as the mouse buttons in general but you are probably largely on your own trying to work out which binds to which control.
Binding a chat message (team chat would be good just please don't spam broadcast) would help identify them. -
Sent a message to Mod 12 last night...any info on how long it usually takes?

Quote:Well I couldn't get my Xbox 360 controller working...but I got my cheap game elements controller working. There should be a "mode" button on your gamepad that allows you to switch from analog to digital which will likely enable it once switched to analog.
Other than that, you may need to enable the joystick under the controls tab in options or reinstall the software for the gamepad or just mess around with the software for it.
I must say...it's like a brand new game with a controller. -
I'm finding...with my Xbox 360 controller...that the game does not seem to recognize the 2nd joystick.
The left joystick and the joypad work fine...however, the right joystick does not work with the keymapping...it's as if the game does not recognize the 2nd joystick. -
Quote:Thank you soo much.Yes you can.
Go to the main City of Heroes website (http://www.cityofheroes.com/en.html).
On the left hand side, click on "My Account" then on "Download Game Client". -
My CoH dvd is not installing?
Can I DL the game from the site? -

Quote:You're asking a lot of questions today.
I set up my wired Xbox 360 controller to work with the game when I was bored one day last summer. It wasn't particularly fluid... I don't think I was able to get the camera look to work with my right analog stick. It was also a huge pain in the butt to get all my attacks bound to all the buttons, and pretty much ended up not being much fun at all once the novelty wore off.
Anyway, if your controller works with your PC (ie, you have all the necessary drivers installed), you can set joystick commands in the Options menu. Once you've experimented enough to learn what the game calls each button, you can even set your own binds using the /bind command...
Of course, when you realize you've got 10 powers in your primary tray plus however many others you commonly use in your alt trays, plus jump, plus a button to activate/deactivate your travel power... Well, you're going to quickly realize that you don't have enough buttons to do anything.
Alright...so my Xbox 360 controller...that's already set up for other games...should be able to be used?
Edit: I apologize for all the questions today. Just re-subbed my account...trying to add new flavor to the game. -
Since I've already posted many threads today...
what is the max speed for Flight?
Has it changed since it was...I believe...58 mph? -
Quote:Whoa...wait...what?Not fair. SS, SJ, and Flight suck in caves as well. besides, now that sprint's base speed has been buffed, you dont need much more than that to navigate caves.
I always found tp to be perfect to line up cones and such off a corner, the mobs stack up real well when using tp to corner pull.
Negatives... with the keybinds, you don't HAVE to take hover for it, but it sure is nice if your connection lags at all.
Sprints base speed has been increased? It seems that I have missed a lot since I've been gone. -
Is there any way to set up a PC gaming controller (mine resembles a PS3 controller) for this game?
-
Quote:Nice...I really appreciate the help. You can use it as such, Vitality. You just have to rebind the keys to do so.
/bind numpad1 "powexec_slot 1"
...
/bind numpad0 "powexec_slot 10"
A lot of people prefer to use their numpad for situational binds instead of attacks, though. For instance, it's a great way to control a Mastermind's pets while still keeping access to their personal powers on the top row of number keys. -
Big favor to ask then...
...could someone write up an "how-to", so that I can set up my keyboard that way? -
Why does this game not allow use on the number pad on the right side of a full keyboard?
It would be perfect...WASD for movement with the left hand...and the number pad for powers with the right hand. -
I re-subbed my account and I plan to re-roll my scrapper.
I plan to use TP as my travel power because it is the only TP that I have never used.
Could I get a list of the cons for this travel power?
Thanks in advance. -

Does invisibility also make the superspeed fx invisible?

Quote:Nice...sounds good to me.If you never ever respec a character that has fitness, then this change means nothing to that character. if you respec after the change happens, then you essentially get 3-4 free powers, but those 3-4 powers won't be getting very many, if any, slots.
So the way things stand just picture your character the way it is now exactly, only with an extra 3-4 powers to pick from that'll only have 1 slot.
Thanks for the quick info. -
Quote:What I mean is that..."when I respec my character after i19 comes out"...the only change my build will see is...3 added powers. (assuming I slot everything the exact same way)No, because that would mean you would get 2 copies of the Fitness powers.
What happens is your character remains exactly the same until you respec it. Upon respeccing, you will get Fitness as an inherent power and lose access to the pool as choosable powers.
New characters will get Fitness as an inherent automatically.
