    This exactly.
  2. Small request about the way it's handled, as I'm a returning player and was very excited to think that I would be able to take my villain to rogue status and start having access to Paragon City tonight on one of my characters: make the Fame counter start the moment the mission is completed and not the moment I exit the mission. I logged out immediately upon completing an alignment mission last night, ready to finish the path to becoming a rogue today, only to find that one counter only started because I just exited the mission when I logged in.

    Talk about a buzz kill.
  3. no one is reasonably telling the devs to CHURN OUT CONTENT ONLY CHURN OUT CONTENT SATISFY MY PRIMAL URGES
you're right if you tell people that's stupid but no reasonable goddamned person keeps repeating that except for you

people'd just like a bit more content redside since its thin. you seem to agree with this, so i dont understand the malfunction you keep trying to beat in. so give it up already.

Asking "Well what if people quit for *INSERT REASON*?" is mostly pointless.

As I pointed out, the devs could devote several issues to nothing but content. People are still going to tear through it in short order then resume their bellyaching about wanting "more content".

Sure, maybe if you've been here 6+ years, it's all old to you. What you're missing is the fact that it took exactly how long to burn your way through it all?

And, again, there's the population disparity between the sides. I'm glad the devs are taking the effort to fix and/or release content more or less equally for both sides. If they went simply off a population comparison, redside would see new/reworked stuff every second or third issue.

Now, having tried and failed to get a rise out of me, how about you actually try to refute the things I've said instead of simply being lazy and dismissing them?

    I await with baited breath...
you see you keep tearing at that straw man. you refuse to acknowledge that the other side might have some sort of point by going on and on about WELL U WILL JUST BURN THROUGH CONTENT AND WHINE SO-- ect even though no one but you is talking about it.

congrats you won the single man debate

but good try on that troll thing. keep postin', bro.

If it is due to the fact that they've burned through all the content redside multiple times, don't want to go blue for a while, don't want to go grey for a while, and don't wish to step into AE, that is their choice (technically, it's three choices). FACT.

The current crop of devs are trying to keep releases of new content releases balanced so that both (soon "all") sides get something. OPINION, but fairly well supported by historical data.

No matter what, the devs CANNOT release new content at the speed that players can devour it. FACT. Simply inputting the data takes longer than it does to play some of these arcs. Never mind the programming that needs to happen to insert a contact or append an existing contact to offer the content. Never mind testing.

I'm not saying the devs couldn't possibly TRY to do more to put out new content than they already are. I'm just saying that they are NOT going to keep up with players ability to consume it. Then the same tired old "I've done everything! I'm bored! FEED ME!" argument pops up again.
you're bad at this. keep tearing at that straw man.

PS: typing FACT in all caps really doesn't add any credibility to you. at all. stop doing it.

I really disagree with this. Heroes had Headsplitter, Disembowel, Ripper, Impale, Full Auto, ect long before CoV existed. The powers don't really reflect anything at all.

Lol. WoW's phasing technology. Not instancing, the phasing.

Oh yeah, let's talk about their new Dungeon Finder system. You know, that thing that will assemble groups from a group of servers automatically and slap them all in a dungeon together. Finds a healer, DPS, and a tank. Yeah, it's nice. Best addition to any MMO.

I don't know where the hell you see "super sidekicking" in WoW at all.

They don't work well because they're bad features but because the game itself is bad.

Unique doesn't mean quality or better or even automatically make something good. I'm not saying "make every game WoW". I am saying, however, you're a fool if a lot those WoW-esque features seem like a bad idea to you. It's a solid base. The problem with other MMOs has been ****** development teams attempting to bite off far more than they can chew. They also tend to release products that probably would have been acceptable 5 yers ago when WoW came out.

Haha. I actually meant cartoon in more of a caricature/unbelievable-as-real sense.

  11. Just responding in general and not to anyone specifically:

I hate the way evil is presented in City of Villains. It's dirty and weak. It takes the easiest path to make something look evil with a dingy, ugly town and contacts like Westin Phipps that are just horribly written caricatures.

I liked the new arcs because on some level it let me try to be evil without resorting to stupid kitten-stomping cartoon evil while retaining some sense of humanity. Plus it focused on my character trying to get something accomplished (I felt the hero Dark Mirror arcs are just terrible for this, your double is doing all the cool stuff the entire time).
  12. Pretty sure from my own observations that it does zero damage, but I can check again.
  13. I don't know but it is pretty useless. Every demon pet has an AOE attack to break the sleep except for maybe the demon prince.

If they wanted to give him more control I would have preferred the tiny blaster ice patch (or the controller/dom one, haha) to a sleep that literally does nothing other than waste my pet's endurance.
  14. My Demon/Pain got a Stone Armor/Psionic Blast clone. It worked really really well and Ajax without needing very many heals while me and my friends took our sweetass time killing ambushes and the devices.

That's a bit biased. What the red side had was a lot of CoV specific threads with very, and I mean very, little of the fluff we see here that really has absolutely nothing to do with the game. "How would your character do against the Hulk?" for example.

That... has everything to do with the game!

Lord when did this cease being a comic book fantasy RPG and become a spreadsheet?

[/ QUOTE ]Has everything to do with your character, but goddammit, if it ain't in the game, I don't care.

Threads like this that are coming up more and more often are why it was a horrid idea to combine the two boards. I am hesitant to post in another of these threads because I have been told that no matter what I say it is condescending, or rude, or a combination of the two, this is an attempt to not be either.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Combining the forums actually decreased the number of such threads for some reason. Used to be the CoV forum was only ever used for people to complain about the injustice and little else.

CoV had some threads that had a lot of complaining, sure. Threads dedicated to the RSF and patron powers. Any mention of those brings a swarm of complaints regardless. It was a slower moving forum as well: a lack of fluff threads and a smaller player-base that was really interested in it. That doesn't mean there were no useful or informative threads there.
