I used a game time card and recently re-newed my subscription but I have noticed I cannot play certain Ouroboros arcs such as Heather Townshend, getting a message "you must be a VIP and not on a team to flashback to this story arc". I meet both those requirements.
I opened a ticket and all they said was to "Please relog to desktop. This will allow your client to re-sync with the database..." This does not work and in fact today when I logged in, I also noticed that all my characters are locked except where I purchased slots.
Anybody else have any problems when moving from Premium to VIP? Is it maybe something with using a game time card instead of purchasing time directly? I'm getting Incarnate drops, my name is in gold here on the forums, my storage increased so I'm not sure why the rest is not 'syncing'.
This is not the VIP experience I was looking for. -
Quote:Luckily threads cannot make you go bald. That would be a bold move by the OP to try and make such a thread though. All right, so it's NOT the "official death of level pacting."
I am getting pretty tired of thread titles that baldly assert something to be true but turn out to be entirely opinion, or even just a question. -
Quote:I was going to say that was the avatar I remembered.New? I've had this avatar for years now! And no, I can't ever find a better one.
I suppose Ninjutsu prooobably wouldn't really work on any AT other than Stalker, but I can dream.
Enjoy the Stalker changes. So good, my stalker that was languishing in the 30s for a couple years is now only a level away from 50. Also, I don't think I saw anyone mention it but did you read about Staff Fighting coming out next Tuesday? I envy all the choices you have ahead of you. The one good thing about going away for a while is having so many new shinies when you return. -
I think it will continue the trend. A lonnng time ago, street-sweeping was the way to level but they changed missions to be more desireable. I don't see this changing so unless they get some new tech to make the zones more interactive, seeing empty zones will continue for all except the most populated servers. I feel the same way as I travel through zones but at the same time, missions/trials/TFs are where the action lies.
Just as an example, unless I see a building being physically demolished(physics tech) by a monster, a humongous water spout in IP about to hit land and heroes need to gather items from the zone to build a dehumidifier on crack or a large group of citizens attacked at random(and being 'defeated', i.e. they disappear), then I don't foresee any interest in a zone besides it being something I have to travel through or a nice backdrop to look at as I go from mission to mission. Even the re-occurring Monsters seem to not gather much interest in zone-events, at least on the servers I frequent.
It's sad and I wish it could change but I think the effort along with the level of tech in the game engine versus the ROI would prevent seeing anything different happening than we have in the past few years as far as zones are concerned. -

Quote:I just about pulled the trigger back then with 4 slots still available and had asked myself the same question. Glad I waited. Got another 5 so I'm set on slots for awhile now.Me, two weeks ago: I should buy some character slots while they're 25% off. Who knows when they'll go on sale again? *buys slots*
This week: character slots 50% off, previously purchased slots not even filled yet. *facepalm*
Just waiting for storage sales now. -
Would you expect to at least keep your Prestige or with a new system is everyone starting over at zero base resources?
-
While not as excited for Staff Melee as others(I will definitely purchase it at some time in the future), I'm just wondering why there has yet to be any hints as to the plans for the 8th anniversary?

Some is already helping me. VIPs rock!!!
-
Any VIPs that would mind helping me pay some base upkeep on a few bases?
Villain side:
Triumph
Protector
Hero side:
Pinnacle
Send a tell to @Magma Fist if you can. Thank you. -
Quote:tldr; people are reading way too much into the suggestion. It is simply informing PS what I'm willing to pay for as a Premium player. The ability to create SG's and pay Base Rent is one of the few things exclusive to VIP's.
They are giving enough away for free or for such a small amount of money already that the VIP sub is almost devalued.
/jranger
EDIT: All it takes is for you to ask a VIP to help you create the SG and start the base. They can then hand you the Leader position and quit the SG.
Then fill the base with items that don't cost base rent, or if you insist on having those types of items you can either invite some VIP strictly for the purpose of paying rent or ask on the forums for a VIP that's willing to put a filler character in your base that can log in once a month to pay rent.
I've seen enough offers from long-time players that are well known on the forums to know that you'd likely be able to find some takers.
Believe me, I've tried broadcasting, sending tells, etc for hours. I found one person, didn't expect them to stay in the SG but they did but now he hasn't shown up for a couple months and is on hide. I know this because I saw him in one of my global channels yet not on global friends list. We barely talked so either he decided he didn't want to pay base upkeep anymore or just doesn't care. Anyways, it is not as easy as some make it out to be.
The reason I never posted on the forums was that I wasn't sure PS wanted me saying "hey, would someone mind paying my upkeep on my existing base?" I feel like I am asking to help avoid the $15/month, which I am. I'm just not interested in Incarnates or the other freebies enough to pay the monthly fee and there is something about the appeal of buying once and having permanent access. But I would be willing to pay a smaller monthly license fee like AE and Inventions.
Since many thought this game would never go f2p and have a cash shop, I will keep asking from time to time for microtransactions more suited to me. I may eventually shell out for the extra storage for characters but right now, I can't justify what I consider exorbitant prices. I like bases and they are fun, but not $15 fun. You may consider that nothing but I enjoy the free play even though I shelled out $65 in points since Freedom started. Yes, I could have bought a few months play but I doubt there is a way I could make anyone in this thread understand my choices.
I'm not trying to argue or rally against others wishes which is what it feels like when reading the reply of some very vocal forumites. If others like to make snarky comments or imply I'm stupid in some way, can't ask for help, etc and the message gets lost then there is not much I can do about it except to continue letting a business know where I will open my wallet from time to time. I appreciate the VIP value argument as well but hopefully it clarifies where I'm coming from. I don't see this so much as a subscription game anymore.
Thanks for the reply and helpful info, Texas Justice. I'm assuming the place to post the request is in Player Help since I do not have access to the server forums?
And thanks Obsidian Light, I did send you a tell. -
Quote:I'd rather see this than Steelclaw's suggestion. No offense to his suggestion as it was well thought out but it is not how I would personally like to see temp powers evolve. I'd rather get the variety proposed above. What bothers me more than the few powers we have now is that this area of content really hasn't been significantly added to since it was first introduced. I understand that the first batch of powers we got would be sort of a generic "proof of concept" to make sure we could actually craft the powers. But seriously that was how many years ago now? At this point we really ought to have like 100 or more craftable powers, not just the same dozen or so we started with.
For instance we have the one Revolver power. Sure that's fine as a generic "hand gun" power, but why is it that we don't have like 15 or 20 different kinds of "craftable firearms" of all shapes and sizes by now? Theoretically we should be able to run character with only temp powers if we really wanted to - that would allow us to totally customize our characters in so many ways. I'm not asking for more powerful powers, I'm just asking for a huge selection of temp powers.
It almost seems dumb to have the ability to craft temp powers and only have a few to choose from. If anything the Devs ought to be adding at least a few new ones with every Issue update. I think the Devs really missed out on the opportunity to give us more easy to create content in this area. -
Please provide a base license around the price of an Invention or AE license for Premium players. In other words, I can pay rent and start a new SG. Or you could even sell them like character slots with no base upkeep. I would also be interested in buying pre-made bases as well as individual items such as teleporters, control and power. Hopefully, if bases would see more direct revenue then we can get some true base love.
-
I pretty much use all of them. I used to not really like the Hammer or bat but then realized on certain characters the single target damage is higher than other inherent powers. Love Stun Grenades, recovery serum and backup radio on all my characters since I solo a lot.
-
I think it brings up a good point. If we continue to see some of these powers change after a few months, it may cause some players to hesitate and not buy an item. This is only in regards to changes where we might be left scratching our head at why such a minor power needs to be modified. At that point, we have to research why a change was made in hopes we understand why it was done, accept it and move on. That is, if we can even find that info. Otherwise, you are just PO'd because that was not what you initially paid for and may have not bought it. I never read an official dev post on the changes to Inner Inspiration and the buff pets so it was all second hand player info.

Please revisit your pricing structure. I am still awaiting the micro in microtransactions. From my perspective, I compare a lot to what I received in Going Rogue for $40. And these are also things I can get more of from a new MMO as well. Powersets, zones, new villains, new costumes, new missions, new game mechanics, etc. Then you charge $5 for a single story arc, $5 for costume sets, $10 for this crazy leprechaun, up to $20 to expand storage and I can't bring myself to buy much knowing the value I received previously. Granted I can login for free now and some small premium would be expected on purchasable items compared to before but I'm just not seeing this in the market. I don't mind the $10 for powersets. I can actually see the value in them but for everything else when I add up only four purchases and am at the cost of an expansion(from this game or another) yet only have maybe an eighth of the content, hopefully you can see why I am unlikely to part with any money.
That's my two cents why I want to buy items to support PS and my favorite MMO but just cannot bring myself to open my wallet for much of what I see available. -
Quote:Yep, that's the one. I can't post in that thread though. But I agree with Rigel Kent. Not sure why this change was implemented or how people were abusing it. Just like the change to the inherent buff pets to a toggle, it seems unnecessary. But keep punishing the majority of your players for the acts of a few.So... Like This?
I can't complain too much though since I'm playing for free so will just let my character time-out after using Inner Inspiration as RK suggested. -
Quote:This is why I buy very little in the store. I look at the price of just one item, compare it to what I got in City of Villains and Going Rogue, each around $40, and I just can't bring myself to buy much(SSAs at $5 each? no thank you). Powersets are about the only thing I buy. For the price of 5 or 6 items, I might as well go buy another game or subscribe for a couple months to another, more recent MMO.And at the people who think these are reasonable tradeoffs instead of complete ripoffs you can spend the 10 bucks to pick up entire games.
But, to anyone having fun with all these new items and buying a lot, thank you very much. I'm very happy to be a Premium player.
Cool artwork on the alignment token though. -
No, it's not just you. I also find the sound effects of Titan Weapons underwhelming.
-
-
yes, I bought a pack and got the facemask and chest pieces. the only one I can't find now is the facemask.
-
I am having trouble locating the Elemental Order facemask and chest pieces at the tailor. Where can I find them? Someone mentioned the chest piece was under robes but I can't even find that, lol.
Found robes. Yeah, I rarely change costumes. -
Quote:Thank you, I was wondering about that. I didn't claim it but that is good to know. Each one mentions the Archetype in the name except for the Kheldian's Grace (Peacebringers and Warshades) and Dominion of Arachnos (any type of Arachnos VEAT).
If you claim one and it isn't what you want you can email it to your global name and pick it up with the character you want to have it. -
How do I know what AT they are good for? They don't mention any AT and just have a title and what they enhance. I got a Dominion of Arachnos. Is that only good toward the villain epic ATs? Am to use the symbol graphic to determine the AT? Just don't want to claim it on my hero and not be able to email to a character that can use it.

They are the only character in server list that you do not have to type the name after clicking the delete button.
