I am having to go villain to get the spider's kiss badge or sumin :<
But I like my MoTPN badge because it is hard and I get a lot of tells asking me how I did it. -
I've been in the MMO scene for about...oooohh...7 years now. I've tried WoW, Everquest 1 and 2, Runescape, Urban Dead and I'm an introexvert type person according to my psychology teacher. I dunno how much of that I agree with, but it seems to fit me quite well.
On a toon on another game, I raided a lot for 2-3 years. I had a maxed out character with great gear and I was a good player, but not amazing. I enjoyed grouping but what I enjoyed more was using the gear I got from grouping to go solo. I could solo most of the level 80 24 man raids easily and I could make money from it, a fair deal of money actually.
This game doesn't have gear like that. A solo person could over time, become as powerful as sometime who runs trials 24/7 with IOs and now this is opening up the incarnate system to them.
This is one of the best solo games I've come across (second only to urban dead) and I think soloing should be encouraged, less spamming for DFB. -
Well I ended up fighting two clockwork paladin, same trick as last time, took me just under 5 minutes. I only killed one though :P
-
So I was on beta, on my 50+3 crab spider, fully T4ed, her IO spec is the same as her normal spec, all I had were my pocket inspirations (a revive, 3 small, 1 large red, 2 small, 2 large yellows and an orange) and I notice oh! Wazzis? A scroll that summons an undead monster connected to the god of death? Why not?
After spending 30 minutes running around trying to find the spot to summon him, I finally do summon him. I spend a minute waiting around for him to appear, then I realise he is on the other side of the rock, I summon my T4 cim pet, shivan, all my spider bots and CHARGE!
A few minutes later, the foul beast is dead and it is my first solo GM kill. I feel amazed. I just soloed a GM. And now I need...MORE!
So can anyone give me a list of GMs, hardest to easiest and tell me where adamastor in the beta comes in this list?
I know the paladin is at the bottom but I never see him spawn or his messages :< If I knew, I would be gunning for him right now. -
I've got myself a build I like now. I am right now scourging up all my hero merits to buy the stuff for it.
Here it is. Perma hasten, mind link, good ST attack chain, active defence, and I can afford it.

Any suggestions for Widow incarnate? I'm going cardiac core, pyronic, warworks. Not sure for destiny, either rebirth or barrier with res. Not sure for interface either. -
So what do they actually do? I know they give a +1 level shift but for how long, how high can you go with them, do they work outside missions, what?
-
Nope. Dead Horse powerset is more likely. There are many reasons for this but remember this is an old engine.
-
Quote:Yeah, for that part, the Tempest Gyro's herd the Voids so if you can, AoE them.Just failed the MoM again, in Peny's room.
We got a void near, killed it, got penny down to about 70% and then the voids just seemed to stop coming near. I don't think we had any tanks, but we had some scrappers and brutes who were trying to pull the voids near her.
Eco
Basically, when I run it, we do this.
Run in. Kill the first storm void in the middle of the room, stand in it to prevent the unresitable damage. Stack up in the middle, spam heals and buffs, get Penny into the middle, AoE like mad while brutes/tankers/scrappers kill the gyros and pull the voids in.
It can be hard without any tankers or with a lot of +3s, but it is easilly PUGable so long as you get the +3s and make sure everyone knows what to do. -
Slot the proc and the ED mod only one, get a small bonus at no lose.
-
Out of sheer habit now, I slot Numina's and Miracle proc in health, a performance shifter proc and end mod in stamina, a celerity in sprint, 6 slot tactics for Gaussian and 2 end mods for assaults.
What do you guys always slot? -
OK, building a tank just for MoM is silly! If you have a good team, I've tanked it on my crab!
Edit:
But if you have to, you drop that doctored wounds recharge for a plain old recharge. -
Some stuff for the Midnighter EAT.
Their secondary set.
The temp powers have to be bought with special midnighters only salvage that drops at the end of missions. You get half a set of salvage every 10 levels, starting at 1 meaning you can max out 2.5 sets but need to run missions to get more. Each power much be bought individually and stacks up to 5 hours. There may be the option to get the temp powers permanently. Temp powers are affected by global bonuses etc and by what you slot into the power.
Artefact Armour - Gives 5% res to all by psionics and 3% defence. Also gives access to the Armour temp power pool. If toggled on, grants access to these powers.
-Defensive Aura - Toggle for 15% defence, 15% res to all but psionics.
-Shield of Magic - Lasts for 30 seconds. Increases defence by 20%
-Defender of Allies - Toggle which adds a chance for taunt proc to each attack which also grants a small res boost.
Focus Items - Grants 15% attack bonus. If toggled on, grants access to these powers.
-Focus Powers - Acts like Aim with 50% to hit and damage bonus for 10 seconds.
-Unleash - Targeted AoE with large amounts of damage
-Elemental Mastery - Toggle which adds a proc of 1 small bit of damage of each type except psionic.
Servants of Magic - Increases stamina recovery toggle and grants access to these powers.
Magical Essence - Ranged attack that does minor damage and recovery decrease, and summons, if it hits, a Magical Essence, a ranged blaster type pet with fire and ice attacks.
Wisps - Summons 2 wisps to buff and heal all allies nearby with a small bonus to hit, defence and a healing aura etc. They also do some damage in the form of energy bolts.
Servants of Magic - 3 smaller magical essence which deal a variety of damage and debuff resistance.
Chains of Magic - Grants status protection as toggle.
I'll add more later. -
I know this guy, I was on the trial.
It went pretty smooth. Not badge perfect, but no OMG WTF WHY ARE WE FAILING! Dark and Widows make the zone a lot easier on a team, but they aren't needed, it is possible to do it without them.
But the IO thing was stupid. I'm full IOed and I need to be to play the game how I want as a tanking crab, but you can still rock this in SO, or basic IOs or whatever. He didn't ask me what IOs I had though, I just said I was a 53 crab and he was happy to have me. Maybe it is all that sweet buffing I bring :P
And he also had a bit of a thing about destinies. He wanted everyone rebirth/barrier, failing that, whatever gave you a shift.
So basically, a little silly, but it worked. I still prefer teams where anyone can join, so long as we get a majority of +3s :P -
Yes, but I mean widen the goals of each badge so they have a bit more freedom. For example, expand task force commander to any task force (with posi 1 and 2 counting as 1 together), adding in some more kill options for several of the badges or missions. Doing all SSA to get 1 part of the FPRM accolade would be good.
-
How about this for an idea.
Widen the range of accolades, so now each Accolade requires lessay, 5 diffrent requirement badges, from a larger pool.
For example, for invader, it could still have the mayhem badges, but also has a number of other options, such as breaking out of 10 respawn jails, destroying objects on those missions and completing arcs that take you to paragon. -
Unsigned.
This wouldn't make the devs that much money, I think. If we can just keep doing surveys, we won't be buying points. Points are 100% profit to the devs, while adverts might be pennies. -
Trials, no.
An alternative method, though, would be good. Invader is a pain. One that doesn't involve side switching.
Personally, I would like them as a reward token thing, stick it nice and high up. -
I picked up the icon reskins but do you guys know anything else that is useful to have? The thing I would like most is a better city map that also show Ouro etc.
Anything legal and useful would be nice please. Thanks. -
Psi damage being super effective would make the shifter more trouble than it is worth. Adding the status effect thing, I think, would be somewhat more balanced. At max level, psi damage is a lot more common (see all the Seers, MoM trial, seers in UG, TPN, lots of psi damage mobs), while holding, while possible, is a lot less common.
And the range of power sets would make it a do everything. For example, take a defender. They have a buff primary and a blast secondary. Your idea, as I see it, would give this AT access to Dom primaries, defender and tanker/brute secondries, Kheld powers etc.
Like I said, make the primaries like scrapper powers, and then make the transform a kind of god mode. For example, plants would gain a proc for a mag 2 immobilize or hold on an attack, an elemental could have a fire/cold/energy/whatever damage proc, beast form maybe a proc for ticks of lethal damage etc. Would work better IMO. -
So this AT does everything. And its dog. It has almost as high hp as a tank, and more than a scrapper's max. Knock the health down to EAT levels.
Once again. Poison and Empathy are buffing sets, not defence sets. Shield defence, on something that is gonna keep changing form, probably won't work. Add the auras aswell, I think.
Why not port over the stalker secondary powersets, swap hide for Transform. And then turn the transform ability into a kinda god mode with a damage and defence bonus, maybe a proc for extra damage or debuff?
And think of all the work that goes into a new power set. Times that by all your ideas. Even porting them over. Maybe limit to 4 semi unique power sets. Beast, I can get behind, elemental, sure, demonic, sure, plant, sure, celestial if it was more angelic themed over Kheld copying (it even has Bright Nova!), sure. The others don't really feel like proper powersets. Kin. Not really. What would it even look like?
The bar is a nice idea, except the psionic bit. Maybe instead of psionics don't it, being held, knocked back, interrupted or whatever drained a huge chunk from the bar and stopped them regening it until double the amount of hold time has passed. -
Way I see it.
A fortuna is a tank mage buffer dominator who is easy to softcap but has no resistances other than to psi, making her a bulletproof glass cannon who use control effects as mitigation.
A night widow is a tank stalker buffer corrupter/defender who provides good buffs and debuffs regen/recharge while doing a semi exotic damage type (toxic) who doesn't need amazing defences, but can get them with their own personal god mode. -
As an idea, why not have an ability that ties it into defence. As in, whenever someone misses, you take advantage of them being off balance for a second to smack them around the ear. Maybe make that the god mode.
My idea for it would be "Riposte". 30% to positional defence, 30% resistance, whenever an enemy misses on you with melee, you do a moderate damage attack back at them. -
OK, flaw from the outset.
- Martial Arts
- Street Justice*
- Staff Fighting*
All offensive powers. If they are gonna have a defensive set, have it be battle forms only or sumin, the rest being something like stalker powers. So basically, stalkerish most of the time, but tankerish in battle form.
How I would do it. -
Crabs do make pretty good tank mages. My crab is damn well IOed. No purples yet. But I still do some pretty good DPS. I can tank all trials. Done all TFs tanking. Some SFs. And I farm pretty well as well too.
