Quote:I don't understand this issue at all. I just don't.While I understand and encourage this practice for new players, I can only see it as completely inexcusable for those now-paying customers, who have paid for the rights to the archetypes ALREADY through their purchasing of the full games at retail, to lose the rights to play their characters and have demands set on them that they have to pay for the rights to the archetype a second time. There has to be a grandfathering issue here, and I hope that if they are currently using this plan, they consider the ramifications of such a decision greatly.
You are talking about an entitlement players should have who are NOT subscribed to this game, and may have spent as little as $5 dollars (possibly less) EVER on this game. As it relates to VIPs who stop subscribing... I again don't understand this issue. If you stop subscribing now, try to play a MM or Controller. Did it work? Anything you are allowed access to while not subscribing is like a great big present from the Devs. Where is this entitlement coming from?
Also, it bears mentioning that TECHNICALLY you never bought the game. Oh sure, you may have a CD (which you bought) but unless you are a current subscriber that does a great big ZERO for ya. When this game goes F2P, having rented space on a server doesn't seem to me to bring about any automatic privileges. -
Quote:Ummmm, to be honest, I am not sure what makes it fun exactly, it's not just one thing, nor is it really limited to the things I am about to mention. I think part of it is being 'forced' to do everything on a single character. I like that I can say "been there, done that" about things in this game. I think, for me, it comes down to learning about the game. I enjoy being the fountain of knowledge in my play-group... and badging helps that. Further, it's about accomplishment. Every time I earn a badge it is like a mini-victory. When I was FINALLY able to get on a team to earn the CoP badge, I was SOOO stoked. And with Incarnatehood requiring so much playtime on my main character, badging offers a diversion WHILE likely allowing me extra Shard drops!I have asked this elsewhere but what makes badging fun for badgers ?
Just looking at it as an outsider, it seems a pretty nasty situation. If you haven't been playing the game from day 1 there is no way to complete. There are badges that just aren't available unless you are willing to prostitute yourself in odd , and any badges that you do go to considerable effort to obtain seem to get nerfed in random ways.
Quote:The best badger, is the badger you have fun playing regardless of badging
And to answer the actual question in the OP: my main badger is Wylde-Fire who is a Grav/FF/Primal [Nerve T3, Ion T3, Polar Lights T3, Gravitic T3, Clarion T3] Troller. -
Point taken, but why would it be a good idea to use a past bad example to establish new things going forward? There is no reason to increase the level of ridiculous with Stalkers just because existing sets do it.
-
-
Mechanically, I don't see an issue with Stalkers... logistically though... well.. how sneaky can you be with a giant sword or railroad crossing sign? Stalkers are all about stealth and attacks based more on speed and maneuverability than strength, Titan Weapons affords niether.

Quote:Aren't all of the weapon models automatically ridiculous already? The barrel of a tank. I hope the devs realize that this power set needs to have a lot of ridiculous weapon models.
(I kid, I kid.)
Quote:I think you'll be wrong
Titan Weapons will be a set people have to purchase. There might be people who only play the Stalker AT over any other melee AT. Those player may buy the Titan Set, but would only buy it if the Stalkers could use it.
Essentially, I think the devs are going to want to cover their bases, and get as many sales as they can on it. -

Something tells me that he will make an appearance in the new Galaxy Tutorial... or, if he doesn't he may get moved to Ouro to talk with Flower Knight. Both, to me, would be fine. Especially if he has appropriate dialogue if placed in Ouro.

I love that the rules stated that Paradox is all-but required... while also contradicting themselves. Excellently done, Steelclaw!
-
Holy goodness that is a lot of effort to put into a single character... but I guess I gotta ask: what is her bio, and well, why all the effort?
(I will say that the last image there is simply sadistic looking. I assume that was the goal: nice.) -
Since the dawn of the new Teammate window, I find that the icons are simply too big when the window is docked (which is how I prefer it), so I just turn all the icons off now. And now that applying my FF Buffs is AoE, I just toss them out once in awhile on the nearest player... and get who I can with them. Perhaps this is over lazy... but I also don't ever play Emps, or many other sets that involve actually watching when things expire, so I guess that might be a factor.

Quote:If I am understanding this correctly... and it is hard to... you are against Hero/Villain SGs because trolls and elves are waging war on humans.I don't like a sg that has mix of Villains and Heroes, I rather keep a sg Hero only thing and VG for Villain Only, keeps with the lore and the theme of the game. Like games like this and other MMo like with trolls, Humans and elves we have two side waging War one side either good or bad or both, what i am saying is if there two side waging war then mixing them together would be a bad Idea.
But seriously, I think Steelclaw has the answer. Simply retcon the existence of bases as an allottment of "space" by Vanguard to their various operatives. This would be a good time to simply remove the problem of only one contact on each side that is in charge of SGs and make the contact exist in the RWZ DPOs as well as one in the actual RWZ Vanguard base. And since Vanguard works with both sides, all SGs would be co-op. Win win, IMO. -
Quote:I dunno that I want this to be any easier than it already is... Plus, I specifically chose a global name that has nothing to do with any of my characters at all. This is because each of my characters is just that: a character. They are not me. And while I don't RP all that much, I would be a little annoyed that folks are seeing my characters as just ME. I try pretty hard to get good, appropriate character names. So, I would love an option for the game to display every one's global names instead of their character names.
But, I suppose, since MY view of people wouldn't change, I suppose this is okay... but I guess I am still a bit against this idea. -
I was lucky enough to get on a CoP not that long ago... and if you have access to an SG with the proper equipment, it actually isn't that bad... Same number of teams required as a full BAF.
However, I think it is that first hurdle (the base stuff) that stands in the way of a lot of folks. Our SG could theoretically run them... we just don't. All we need at any one time to do it, is 3 SG members on at the same time to lead each team inthe League... from there, one can run several successful attempts in under an hour. It is only the invitation and staging time that takes a while. -
While a TON of those ideas are fantastic, I think that other ones limit a comic. One of the things I like a lot about comics is the vast scale of them... aka the Multiverse. I like that it is possible for a hero to team up with himself, or a hero alternate universe villain... what have you. I think it is important to be able to have some character, somewhere who can warp reality... and do crazy things in a universe.
Likewise, there really should be an occassional ressurection. Perhaps not in a cheap way so that you feel like you wasted yoru anticipation and disbelief that they died two issues ago... but to have dead characters interact with the universe either through reanimation or... here it comes again... a plane where dead characters reside (an Elysian Fields, mayhap?).
Also, with regard to time. I would love it to make sense that a hero began his career at 18, and 30 years later is 48, has retired from heroing and is now helping his son along in his footsteps... but that is not always practical. Sometimes a hero only is relevant and makes sense at 18 or 30 or 523... forever. Maybe that means that he is a poorly designed character, maybe it is the nature of comics to portray time unrealistically. I don't know.
I think that if such a company existed, it would be interesting, and certainly new and exciting. However, I feel that it would be impossible to hold to all those promises for the long haul. -

Yeah, there definitely are differences of opinion on this kinda thing. I, for one, will prolly never delete a 50.

Sorry, Laevateinn, I must have misunderstood the part where you said "reroll" and "more effective" within a sentence of one another.

Wylde-Fire, my first, was a Grav/FF Controller who is my main character, my first 50, my first Incarnate and my account's Badge Collector boasting some 1030 badges. I think I soloed with him for the first few months I played... he was 17 or so the very first time I teamed. So, now when folks complain about slow leveling, or not being able to solo on a character, I just giggle to myself.
He has gone through a TON of costume changes (His mostly current one is to the right of my symbol in my sig. I say mostly because I just redesigned him again to incorporate some of the new Ascension pieces... and he may well be redesigned again very soon.), and respecs since his creation. And, he may not be the strongest character ever, and he has died so many times I can't even begin to try to estimate a count... but he's my favorite. -
Quote:1. A ton: Samurai, Ninja, Knight (w/ Traditional sword/shield), Laser Katana, any Dual Blader... I am starting to think I misunderstood this question.1. Can you think of any concepts that make sense with conventional Weapon sets, but don't make sense with Titanic weapons?
2. Do you have any weapon characters? If so (assuming the set contains all classes of weapons), which ones are you leaving as is, and which ones are you remaking into Titanic weapons? Why?
3. Has hearing about Titanic Weapons given you any new ideas? Has it given you a new spin on old ideas?
2. I have a few characters that use current weapons. None of which are mains for me... and prolly none of them will be re-rolled. I can't imagine any character outside of maybe a super-strong Hulk-like character that I would use this new set with based on the ludicrous concept images that were made available.
3. Nope, not really. -
