I do have one quibble about this post, that I am surprised someone else hasn't noted.

An MM can and does "run in." I solo almost exclusively on one of my MMs, and I ran on Unyielding before, and now I run on +1/x3 (give or take) and do just fine. I have also "tanked" for the team with that character, granted that if the team takes too long in getting in there, I will have issues. If I took the time to IO him out (which I won't do), I am sure I could make him a pretty awesome force.

I can't believe I actually read all of that.

Basically? Wall of Text = Bad. Try to use line breaks, also, there is a key (called [Shift]) that makes some letters capitalized. Generally, these are important words, and they also tend to begin sentences. Also, articles are your friends too, words like "a" and "the."

And if the Tank doesn't have the star? What is the leader going to say on every mob: "OK, Tank, go in we are ready"? ‘Tis slow and unnecessary. If the Tank sets the pace, you will quickly figure out how best to support him. I feel constantly pressured to press forward, even though there are straggler mobs. It seems to me that tanking is an art of pacing the team, monitoring agro and knowing when to advance to the next spawn (which is when the mob size and remaining danger is minimal).

    Too slow = Boring

I feel if the Tank keeps a quick pace and mobs are dying quickly and the tank is pushing onward, toward the team-wipe-edge then the team will have a blast: the Defenders are doing their thing, the Scrappers/Blasters are killing like mad and the Trollers are doing double duty (controlling and buff/debuffing). I hate waiting for buffs before a mob rush. Just buff during combat as the team should be reasonably close (but not too close to the Tank due to mobs’ AOEs) to the tank for all to get buffed. Buff on the way as I say.

I did a Posi TF in 2.5 hours on an 8 man team...that was a killer pace pre-i16! Everyone had fun... and I knew when to push the envelope. Sometimes it went poorly and 1-2 would die, but it was rare and the pace wasn’t "too safe" and therefore boring.
  4. I was definitely thinking about more RAM. How much more should I have?

Also, the only reason I don't have SP3 is that when it originally downloaded, it caused my system to continuously loop at startup.... and I had to revert back before I installed it. After which, I turned off the Auto-Update feature for Windows.

Right, because Christmas is the ONLY holiday celebrated in December. I shall remember to remind the family celebrating Kwanza to wish each other a "Merry Christmas." That is such a load of bull it isn't even funny.

Also, I was about to come to your aid in this discussion regarding the Malleus badge... but after a comment like that, I will abstain. Rather, I will just say that I can see GG's point, but I don't see how it could be offensive. It is nothing more than a badge name (and is likely referring to the in-game book with the same name).
  7. I've only had this issue since i16 launched. WW/BM has always taken a while for me to load (I chalked that up to me having an older set of hardware), but it almost NEVER caused a mapserve and caused me to jump to the log-in screen like it is now.

    It is very annoying.

Maybe if you... come up with a list of 9 Powers for the set complete with descriptions like you should have done in the first place... people will appreciate it more. Or at least have something more substantial to post.

Not to mention that is against the forum rules.

If I had to take a guess, I would say that it is an issue with your video card. Either the drivers are messed up, or the card is simply not good enough. I experienced this problem when I first got a trial of the game, I ended up upgrading my card, and all was fine.
  10. It seems more often than not, now, I get mapserved whenever I click on WW/BM. The only time this does not occur is after a restart or if I am solo and have not done a heck of a lot in the game yet.

I am assuming that an upgrade to my memory/processor might be in order. Which one would be the most helpful to me? And if the problem is deeper than that, what can you suggest?

    This.

Especially since I will be in the Beta due to the Loyalty program anyway.

  16. Since you mentioned both Controller and Ranged, I wonder if you have given any thought to playing a Dominator (I have a Mind/Fire that is quite fun)?

Of your options, I would recommend a Dark/SR Stalker as a good Soloing character. Farming, not so much.

I am sure you will get lots of other suggestions in this thread!

(Welcome to the game, hope you stay!)
  17. I think I am going to focus on getting a couple of characters I recenly re-rolled back up to where they were before I deleted them.

I would love to focus on Redside, as I have neglected my villains of late. Would love to hit 40+ on my Huntsman (currently about a 35).
  18. If I had to guess:

    1) Freedom
    2) Virtue
    3) Infinity
    4) Justice
    5+) Ummmm, some other servers.

This game isn't hard. Having fun is the key.

I cringe whenever i'm in a pug that starts requesting spesific powers.

We need a stone tank... when any tank or more buff/debuff will do.
We need a RAD. We need a KIN. We need a HEALER. No, you don't. You need PEOPLE. People who want to play and have fun. Thats all.

I have little tolarince for people trying to dictate how others play or what they should play. I always suggest to teamleaders, hey, that TA over there can debuff well enough, grab him, or, that fire tank is fine... ect. Most listen, some don't. *shrug*
    This, this a thousand times.

Yeah, yeah. Knee-jerk reaction posting is FTL. My bad.

At any rate, I wasn't saying that it IS possible, just that I don't discount things in this game... as has been said, the players are pretty damn crafty, and there are a lot of them.

    Pretentious? Certainly.

Did I demonize the OP for a single spelling mistake, or due to the flagarant lack of grammar/syntax/spelling throughout his/her entire post?

Also, both of those spellings are quite intentional not due to what you think. "Scwarzpunkt" is a combination of two correctly spelled German words that roughly translates to "black point." Him being a Dark Melee Stalker, I think the origin becomes rather obvious. When it comes to Wylde? Wildfire was taken when I started the game, and I used a "ye olde" spelling. He was my first character. I am not sure how that makes me any less capable of spotting grammar/usage errors when I see them.

Also, keep in mind the lightening effect the Rikti-speak was intended to have.
