Mapserved from WW/BM

It seems more often than not, now, I get mapserved whenever I click on WW/BM. The only time this does not occur is after a restart or if I am solo and have not done a heck of a lot in the game yet.

I am assuming that an upgrade to my memory/processor might be in order. Which one would be the most helpful to me? And if the problem is deeper than that, what can you suggest?

I was definitely thinking about more RAM. How much more should I have?

Also, the only reason I don't have SP3 is that when it originally downloaded, it caused my system to continuously loop at startup.... and I had to revert back before I installed it. After which, I turned off the Auto-Update feature for Windows.

also update your video card and sound card drivers if you haven't.

Definitely update your video card driver.

Go to your manufacturers website to see if there are driver updates for your motherboard chipset/CPU. While you're there, you'll be able to see what kind of RAM you should get.

Update Windows.

Until you get more RAM, create this macro:

/macro ufx "unloadgfx"

This will create a click icon in your power tray that will launch the /unloadgfx command. Use it before and after you zone and interact with the Market. It clears your memory of unused textures and data. It will speed up your loading and make Market crashes less likely.

2GB on XP is plenty. I have 2GB and I often run two instances of CoH (thought not while accessing the market and it zones like a sloth with two instances).

As for the SP3 issue, well, that's not good. I'm sure it doesn't have anything to do with your CoH issue, but there are so many security issues constantly being discovered that Windows needs to be kept updated.

Thanks for that. Yeah, the windows thing was incredibly obnoxious... I think I will look for a fix for that BEFORE I download SP3 again...
