IIRC the supposed "suppression" mechanic is irrelevant anyway as the buff simply doesn't stack.

As a pre-planned mini-series these shows could have well defined beginnings, middles and endings that tell good stories we can care about.

Of course as we all know American TV doesn't typically operate with that mindset. They'd rather try to create open-ended shows that'll last as long as the ratings are good. The only problem with that model is that it almost always means a show will linger well past its prime and be driven into the ground with silly plotlines that wander off into the weeds.

All we can do is hope that these shows manage to get decent worthwhile endings as best they can.
The problem with Caprica was making it anything to do with BSG. The original show concept wasn't connected with it, but SyFy wanted to trade on the BSG name so renamed a few of the characters and marketed it as a BSG prequel. Problem is, it wasn't really a show that would appeal to the same audience, so they only got a small chunk of the old BSG audience while alienating non-BSG fans who assumed it would be more of the same.

For me that has to be the 4 series of Lost I watched; thankfully I saw where Heroes was heading halfway through S2 and bailed out

I too hated the pilot, it evoked the movie "Wing Commander" to me. I'm not sure why now, but at the time, it did.

Starting with "33" though, I got hooked.
I watched the mini-series and the first half of the first series, but really didn't like it. I think it was the anti-Star Trek problem; in Star Trek (Especially TNG and Voyager) everyone is perfect, they don't have any character flaws and they always do the right thing. In nu-BSG, everyone is flawed to an almost comical level, always seems to the the wrong thing and always has terrible things happen to them. It's just as implausible and jarring to watch.

I do love B5, obviously series 5 was a bit hit and miss, but that's hardly their fault given the Executive Meddling they had to put up with.
  5. I tried watching the new BSG on several occasions and totally hated it. I think I've watched almost every other major Sci-Fi TV show at some point though.
  6. Moor St Station, The Pallasades or The Bull Ring are acceptable options if you don't mind a 10 minute walk, they'll certainly be cheaper than the NCP jobs that are scattered around. There's also one at the Indoor Markets and another by the Arcadian (Though don't attempt that one if you've got a big car) though they're probably another 5 minutes further away.

I'm still not sure how I'm going to get in; driving is a pain, expensive to park and means I can't drink, getting the train is a pain because I'm miles away from a station at this end and a taxi will cost me the best part of £8 each way. And no, I'm not walking 5 miles with all my laptop kit I guess the bus is an option.
  7. Will you be fixing the NCSoft store so that you can actually buy multiple items without it flagging you as "fraudulent activity detected" and making you wait 24 hours to make another purchase?

Only because it's been 11 issues since the devs made any changes to Kheldians...

The .texture files are in DDS format IIRC; nvidia has a free Photoshop plugin to handle them here: http://developer.nvidia.com/nvidia-t...dobe-photoshop and there are plenty of free standalone tools available too.
  10. Obvious Troll is obvious.
  11. Damage starts at 100% before you do *anything*, so that 30% is actually 130% in reality and the "global" buffs in Mids won't include anything that you've gained from enhancements, since they're a per-power buff.

The damage caps are buff caps, thus a 300% "cap" is actually 400% if you include the 100% default.
  12. Also, Level Shifts don't count as far as rewards go; i.e. If you're Lv50+1 fighting Lv50s you can still get Shards dropped even though they're conning as -1 to you.
  13. You could try: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Sear...01&FamilyId=39 which is the latest Intel drivers for the 4 Series integrated graphics chipset. 99% of laptop manufacturers never bother to provide updated drivers for their devices beyond the 3-6 month mark after release - it's almost always better to go directly to the OEM for them despite all the nonsense advice to the contrary.

Ultimately, you're going to struggle with that chipset, no matter what you do.
  14. I really enjoy my DM/EA Brute (I've had him since CoV Launch). He's softcapped against everything except Psi & Negative (Though only by a couple of % for the latter) and DM's -ToHit helps with that anyway.

I imagine he'll need a fairly heavy respec for i21 what with the +Def and +Rech buffs coming his way, but that can only be a good thing

Since then danged near all mobs introduced have had some degree of def debuff which can handily shut down that hard won couple of billion's worth of set bonuses. Isn't going to matter much farming CoT, but Malta, Praetorians, Cimerorans, etc., yeah.

Now - and bracing myself for the howling - there is a way at 50 of achieving at least a degree of the survivability being sought in defense and that is using the Diamagnetic Interface for the foe tohit debuff. Yes, everyone uses Reactive. I have Reactive: in fact I have both.

Just for giggles I ran an experiment the other night: I went to RWZ and ran four rounds of Borea missions - two with Diamagnetic Total Core and two with Reactive Total Core (i.e. the comparable t3s). I used a middling farm setting of +1x8. My current build has 15% ranged and melee defense. The result with Diamagnetic was a very noticeable difference in toughness. A debuff of foe -5% tohit does NOT translate to -5% incoming damage. It's more - much more, on the order of 20%. And unlike defense, tohit debuff won't be immediately negated by unresistable foe def debuffs. An interesting experiment would be to reproduce the same four runs on Cim maps and see what difference the Interface variations make with def-debuffing mobs.
I picked Diamagnetic for my WS from the get-go for exactly that reason.

If need be I can also bring a 300m reel of Cat5e and a bag of RJ45 connectors as well...

Actually, I could even bring my Wireless AP...
  17. Hmmm, I've actually just tried to reproduce the issue and I can't, which is odd as I know I've experienced it recently. I guess it could be a driver-related issue or some combination of settings ingame that were causing it (I was forced to reinstall several times recently thanks to the ludicrous Steam/NCSoft Launcher debacle, which reset all my options to default).
  18. I know that model size doesn't make a difference, but I can't speak for the other questions.

These do work this way in game. The Hami-O thing is supposedly a 'feature' according to a long-lost post by posi, which really means it's not a big enough issue to get fixed ever or castigate players for. Previous to that there is a somewhat stern statement by Castle that "they will be fixed."
That explains that then. Just had a "proper" play and managed to knock up something that approaches a practical level of defense (30%m/25%r/30%a) while maintaining perma-hasten (by 2 seconds) and not gimping anything too badly - though I'm a long way off being able to afford it at the moment
  20. I have exactly the same thing, the LOD settings for character models doesn't seem to fit with the world draw distance. It's definitely something that changed between when I played during i12 and when I came back during i19, but I don't know what.

Really? I've just checked again and I actually put it at 8 needed to hit 85% across the board with the build you've posted.

True, however, you're sacrificing all base RES to do so; if you're confident that you'll always have 7 mobs you can hit for Eclipse then it's not an issue, of course. And yes, it is just a tad on the expensive side

But during double exp event, I realized that I need "defense" and "mez protection" the most. Having capped resistance is nice but it truly sucks when I get stunned/held. I am already carrying a lot of break frees.

What's your opinions on this? I figure by having higher defense from sets, it also reduces the chance of me getting mezzed.

Should I focus full force on +recharge or +defense from set bonuses? Do you take Weave? I don't need Tough but I can find some use in Weave.

And also, is Eclipse auto-hit? I know this is a silly question because at first I thought it isn't but now I think it is?
Getting enough Def on a Warshade to make it worthwhile is very tough unless you sacrifice Recharge and even then it's arguably not worth it because, unlike most of the other "no base DEF" ATs which only need ranged DEF, the playstyle of a Human-Form Warshade necessitates a wider range of coverage.

Shadow Cloak gives you 6% at best, Weave is worth another 6% slotted and you can push combat jumping to about 3%, even with Maneuvers you've only got another 4%. So that's 19% DEF to all for a lot of slots you can't really afford and 2 power picks you probably don't want either (Boxing + Tough) or ~12% if you don't want to waste any slots. I guess you could mitigate some of the lost recharge by putting LoTGs into Weave & Maneuvers as well as CJ and Shadow Cloak, but again that's more slots used up.

The best I could manage with my build, while retaining perma-Eclipse (though losing perma-hasten by a good 8 seconds) is ~20% Ranged/AoE and 25% Melee (no Weave), but doing so involves a *lot* of gimping of powers to the point that I certainly wouldn't be happy running the build myself. I'm sure there are people with better slotting skills than I, however, who could come up with something more viable.
  24. Have you tried resetting all the graphics options to the defaults and then upping them one-by-one from there?

Also assuming that you either have the latest drivers or haven't just changed drivers in the last couple of days?
  25. For the same reason that they all have -Regen attacks, because the devs hate us.
