All of those groups are in some missions and can be found in various zones. Also, the do not feel like super type/comic book material to me. They are a nice bit piece.

A well written TF/SF and/or trial with some epic looking characters is what I am asking for. Where are the cool looking super villain or super group types...something like the Avengers, x_men, Brotherhood of evil mutants...all memorable, cool looking supers. This game has some but add to the rogues gallery with some cool adds.

I have NO desire to see any additional material featuring Goldbrickers, Luddites, Igneous, Scrapyarders and Dockworkers, Golems... If you think that is where my post was going then I apologize because I do not find any of these NPCs unique, epic or compelling.

Yeah no. I don't think changing the looks of NPCs is labour intensive. I specifically said not adding new maps because that is far more involved. So, new NPCs and unique story would be cool.

To add to that, I would really hope they are actual super types. No more militia (5th C., Malta etc). For a trial how about the league take on a team of super villains (like 6 or so) as the climactic end. Instead of have 12+ beat on one main character. It would change the dynamic of the attack as well. A bit more thought. The trial would be the only time we encounter this particular super group.

It might help if there was more time spent designing the look of the main enemies. Paragon has some cool NPCs but many really don't take advantage of the amazing character creator.

As far as innovation, maybe a hybrid tf/trial. Have a league enter it and have only a few maps where people can split up to accomplish goals or stay together. Just some different angles would be nice and would not use a ton of additional resources.

So, we seem to encounter a lot of enemies over and over. We also seem to have the same mission maps...over and over. After 8 years you would think there would be more diversity. I know, i know...we have a lot of variety right now but after 8 years...

Anyway, I was hoping some future trials and TFs/SFs have unique enemies that you only encounter in those missions. Also have the story separate from the rest of the game. That way we aren't saturated with content kinda like the current overdose of Praetoria.

Maybe a unique, stand alone TF or trial. We go in and see different NPCs. We are compelled to read the canon because we have not run into these things a million times already (well, some may read up on the story/descriptions).

I know new art assets are not easily and this would mostly require changing costumes/looks of NPCs. Perhaps a unique reward after each TF or trial (chance to get a costume piece from a new NPC etc).

The trials and that mechanic have added a new dimension to the game so thank goodness for that. I hope new wrinkles get added more often. Until then, this might be an easier way to change up the experience for players.
  4. Did anyone get pics of the new costume sets? That is what excites me the most.

I am not too impressed with a trial that sounds really dull. Not into yet another zone. I can't get jacked up for another arc which is, essentially, new skins and words on the same old mission maps; the same old style. Yeah. Not too exciting.

I22 was kinda dull but I like the new costume pieces. It's nice they're selling new powers but so what? Create a new toon and do the same stuff again? Um yeah. The trials are a nice change of pace but it is time to add a new twist.

I've been saying this for a while now. This game seems more D&D-ish than superhero/comic. Fantasy has a place here but let's get our priorities straight. Enough with the magic/fantasy and all that junk.
  6. Soooooo they're putting purples in the market and you're not going to post builds? Ok, whoever you are, enjoy that. Wow...
  7. I wonder if they have the tech to allow 2XP only in red or blue areas. I think it's a good idea. Also if people are opposed to vills, maybe get that vigilante thing going on. Red side has a better design but some areas are just too bleak...the devs kinda went overboard in that area IMO.
  8. Welcome to the game!

You make some great notes and many have started threads about them before. I agree the starting experience isn't that great and the early zones leave much to be desired. I do like how they added a bit to that with i21 and do enjoy the new supers you get to meet on both sides.

Remember, much of this content is dated. It is an 8 year old game. Unfortunately a lot of the content also feels dated...grinding to unlock contents...obvious time sinks to keep you logged in. All dated ideas but are still in this game.

The devs are decent here but have their own vision. They really dropped the ball on separating factions with villains then did it again in the Going Rogue expansion. They could have enhanced the Atlas and Mercy with all that content but spent the resources on Praetoria...to me that was a huge waste. Going Rogue did intro many great things but the art resources and story for a new zone/faction was a disaster.

The devs have decided to go on with the Praetoria storyline and the coming storm...it is advances at a snail's pace and has been a focus for far too long. It is too bad. It should have been wrapped up long ago. This may take away from adding variety and other mission styles from the game. Recently Champion Online added an alert system or something like that....I will bet you a lot of that idea came from our forums here. I for one suggested a system like that ages ago to add something different to the game. Too bad we didn't put that.

Still, this game has kept me for whatever reason. I haven't played much lately as the repetition is too much but every once in while I do pop in.

Again, welcome to the game. It was a great ride for me for over 4 years

Nah. I really doubt it. It was a bad idea adding zones in that manner. If anything they should have been co-op and something completely different (not 3 more city zones).

I really have to wonder about game direction sometime. I know its CITY of heroes...but we could have other zones....the city thing has been done to death. Get epic out there!

The beauty is, the stories could have been completely changed

Perhaps the Praetorian content could've been introduced via trials and we could have done away with the Prae only zones.

    Free Praetoria!

Having Praetoria as a separate faction/zone which splits up the player base was a horrid idea. It has to be right up there with Han shooting first.

I guess the devs didn't learn with villains and splitting the player base there. They compounded the issues with Praetoria.

For me, those zones are a tremendous waste of resources. Even way back I was hoping they would just add several new TFs all with original art and ideas. Nope. We're bogged right back down into this linear, continuous Coming Storm/Praetoria non-sense.

Imagine if they put in those arcs into Atlas/Kings and Mercy/Port Oakes?! Revamp the starter zones and add new TFs/trials with original art/maps. Maybe something a bit more stunning and epic than a city or caves or warehouse would've been nice.

Ah well. I like some of the aspects of GR but a lot of it seems like an epic waste IMO.
  12. I haven't done all of the arcs but based on what I've seen, pretty decent.

I like the new art in DA zone but we could have done without more cave mission maps. Seriously.

The incarnate trial is not that great. Easy enough to do but it is nothing special. It just seems like the devs couldn't think of anything interesting here and had to rush something out the door.

The DiB trial - great idea to add lower level trial stuff. As for the actual trial, again, nothing to write home about. I don't like how you get 'teleported' from section to section.

Most of i22 was decent but it would be nice to see something completely different and fresh. The recent stuff doesn't strike me as comic book like. However, thank goodness they didn't add another all-Praetoria issue...
  13. Would love to see the mech costume pack. LOVE to see it!
  14. Could you PM me the instructions as well. I have no desire to play City of Crotches or to gaze upon Crotchman as I log in.

    Bring back CHUCK

I enjoyed the chemistry between characters. It worked. Not the most sophisticated or clever series but it was entertaining. It did seem to slow down a bit.

The finale was different so bravo for that. It was not really cliche and not the typical happy ending. I had mixed feelings about it but it did impact viewers so that's good

It'd be nice to see a made for TV movie come out in a year and every so often. I think 5 years is too long

But I think "Chuck" had its run. Shows based upon "romantic tension" almost always run out of steam (pun intended) within one or two seasons after letting the main characters get together/married. I will certainly miss the show, but I would rather see it go out well than see it fumble around with mediocre episodes. I think the writing was starting to struggle with good stories. There were some great moments, but the overall stories were struggling. (I think my single favorite funniest moment in the show was Jeffster playing "Push It" in the maternity ward.)
I somewhat agree but I don't know if it struggled. It isn't brilliant or something one would consider a critical success. It is fun. It is Big Bang Theory meets James Bond (kinda haha). It seems like a show that would never stand a chance but the characters and cast (including many guests) made it work.

I see how they did leave it wide open for additional shows if need be and it wasn't really the happily ever after ending. Close to that but not exactly. Anyway, I'd be happy to see more

  17. Great finale. I would love to see it come back. The characters all work together and it is simple, good fun.

  19. Travel power that de-toggles you and 'greys' out all other powers? Never gonna do it. Sorry. Banked some more of my points
  20. Before he got his powers, wasn't States breaking the law as a thief and also posing as a cop? I'm not sure he was as heroic as one is lead to believe.
  21. The players should have been involved. I didn't mind the SSA but it was a bit too simple and States did not have an epic death. I feel the final mish should have been heroes fighting along with States and attempting to save the city or world or whatever. After States is run down and the mish concludes then have Wade lure him away and THEN apply the cut scene. Not much different but a bit more meaningful and plausible; States saves something one more time, is beaten down, vulnerable and then meets his end. The cut scene could have shown States worn down, ripped costume and all. In the SSA 5 cutscene, States just seems to be a bit of an overconfident buffoon blinded by anger and steps into an obvious trap (I really think he should have suspected something; why else would Wade want to confront him alone in an isolated area...seriously).

For the villain side, perhaps the villain toons are part of the force fighting States et al and the villains apply a sound beating on good old States. Then Wade steps in and finishes him off. The players feel a bit more empowered in this storyline and are partially responsible for the death of States! A truly evil deed! States was less than a Saint so Rogue toons may also enjoy exacting a form of punishment.

I enjoyed the cut scene on SSA 5 but, overall, a weak installment.

Hopefully, in i23, the dev team puts up a memorial in Atlas or something. Maybe something with a burning flame. Then again, the dev that was States was a big enough idiot where I wouldn't mind just removing him from the game with no memorial.
  22. Please. No more alternate versions of these signature NPCs. PLEASE! It has been done to death here and we need fresh and new.
  23. I really didn't think it mattered where States was going to step. Wade could cast that spell and location wasn't a huge deal (I could be wrong).

Anyway, the sad thing about CoX is it has many weak/boring factions. The Rularuu stuff is decent and all but not that great. I think having various mobs of factions in place seems out of sorts. Perhaps more battles against small teams of EBs or something; other supers. I don't know...the same group just getting in your way over 3 segments and making it feel like filler is kinda meh.

Having said that, way to include so signature characters in this one. That was a bit more fun and we could have replaced the monotonous mobs with a few more new supers or something. Too often in these SSAs the first 2 segments feel unnecessary; these should have been a bit more significant.
  24. Very cool cut scene. The rest of the arc was rather weak and just a time-killer, IMO. Many of these segments in each arc just seem like filler.

Honestly, I thought killing off States would have been a lot more epic. I wonder how Wade will conclude his scheme. It feels a bit odd being beaten by Wade and being suckered into that 'spell' or 'ritual'. I think it may have been better if you got into an epic battle fighting with States where he is weakened and then he chases Wade and then enter that cut scene. The players would have felt far more involved.

I was previewing this pack just now and have to say it is really, really weak. The masks and head pieces are well done but there are not enough pieces and then add it is, basically, female only was enough. THEN that sash item is not like the one here; the item in the pack is bulky and seems to protrude from the toon. This was an easy no sale and, possibly, one of the weakest packs out there.

Yes, I know they said it was going to be a female only pack but I really hope this is not a trend. I guess I get to save some more points. I think it has been over a month since I've bought something from the store. Ah well.
