  1. The 'look kryptonite forged weapons because... screw you, that's why' as usual was annoying but it is cheaper to remove his powers than special effects up something that can go toe to toe with him so from a show standpoint that's just how things go.

The Indiana Jones vs sword guy moment was cute. Just casually superspeed over and knock her out with a single punch. That's how he deals with all his enemies, sure (and really it SHOULD be how he deals with all his enemies. The animated superman shows always kind of annoyed me with letting non-superspeed martial artists land hits on him and dodge his blows), but the whip build up before hand was a nice touch.
  2. Nice to see Graviton done justice. His best appearances in the comics have always been when he's an "AV" class enemy in CoX terminology.

Of course, it does make me wish gravity/force field controllers were a little more badass....

"We have arrived on Namek. Oh no, Frieza is here!"
"Frieza has called the Ginyu Force!"

    That takes us to 19.

Overall an easily skippable episode though.
That was a plot point in an earlier season. A Kryptonian living on earth (yet another one) did just that... wore a blue kryptionite ring to be 'human'. It was silly and Brainiac killed him.
  7. No way. x8 all the way. I did that with my wp/em tanker. I think at one point I had -180% recharge.
  8. Under two billion for a fire farm farmer? Hilarious.

I run mine on basic level 50 IOs. Level +2/x8 and spamming inspirations as fast as they drop (which is really, really often in AE). He paid for himself in the first run. Being at the defense and resistance cap due to inspiration spammage the odd green is more than enough to keep him upright... don't even use healing flames really.

The adage it takes money to make money falls apart hardcore when subjected to a ss/fire and inspiration drop rate in a x8 fire damage AE spawn.

Of course, he dies pretty much instantly in x8 spawns (even council) when taken from his holodeck fantasy.

Her fingers were bent because she's old and there weren't many treatments for arthritis back then.

As for the "looks like a man" ********? She looks old. That's all, old.

Guy clearly has never heard of Occam's Razor. Or if he had he's forgotten to use it.
"She's shading her face from the sun or the wind" was my first thought... not 'oh my god... time traveller!"

    I mean, I'm crazy... but ... damn.
  10. With as sensitive as the disease is an extra few times for the camera wouldn't be any worse than the dozen or more times they would do it a day anyways. Seriously. Phone rings? Collapse. Loud noise on tv? Collapse. Sneeze? Collapse. Stand up suddenly? Collapse.

I'll take my place in the 'heartbreaking' camp now.
  11. Energy/Energy is fine solo. Those stuns really add up. Also, Energy Transfer's damage to self can be mitigated with Energy Drain (all the heal is good for). Frankly I'd say EM/EA isn't really any worse off than EM/SR... in fact, by my own personal preference scaled I'd rate it higher because EA has toggle mez protection. Not that either is a GOOD combo.

No, what you need to do is grab a lethal damage inflicting low mitigation primary and pair it with energy armor to watch the suck accumulate. Dual Blades comes to mind.

Were it ported I'd say spines/ea.
  12. If you keep the spawn size set to x2 or x3 the Energy/Wp would make an excellent badger. I have the combination as a tanker as a badger and he's never let me down. Perma-stunning + rise to the challenge makes boss and eb fights cakewalks, and the lack of aoe isn't a huge factor in badging.

Elec/Shield would be a better farmer, long term, so if you want a character that does it all the elec/shield with a bunch of inf thrown at it might be more your style. Personally, I keep character roles seperate so I have a reason to play them at 50. Elec/shield takes quite a while to mature, however, where em/wp is solid for badging even when Oro'd down to level 1.
  13. Stone Melee/Willpower.

With all the mitigation stone melee provides the willpower part of it can take an incredible amount of abuse, especially if you throw in tough. No clicks to worry about defensively... it's 100 percent offensive clicking and positioning all the time. For some that makes the secondary boring to play but I like not having to micromanage my defenses.
  14. I think the writers have been aware for quite some time that they could be doing more.

The problem is that it was a top CW show *exactly* because it followed the formula of their other shows, with enough superpowered seconds thrown in to reach a broader audience. I think now that this is the last season and they don't need to worry about deviating from that formula any longer they can give us some progression at long last.

    The question is 'will they'?

Great SFX; tiny and timid scope. I'm hoping this will change.
    Jim Powell.

I wasn't too happy with the 'cars are stuntbags' scene myself, but that kind of thing does happen *all* the time in comics so I'll let it slide. Though really... how did Jim know the car was going to be right there? He didn't exactly aim, either.
  16. Fire melts face. It melts face at low recharge, medium recharge, and high recharge. It melts face for scrappers and it melts face for brutes. It is one of my 'three when in doubt, roll a...' melee primaries (three stone melee, three fire melee, two dark melee on Virtue alone).

Barring extra damage buffs I do prefer fire melee on a Brute. Incinerate comes early for boss melting fun, and the dots are buffed by fury. In fact, for anything but /shield defense I'd go with a brute. Yes, build up is better for a scrapper as well but especially at low levels you wouldn't know it outside of a glorious build up crit (and those are indeed things of beauty). I don't know how much extra damage build up would do for a scrapper over time compared to a brute if they both had the same global recharge and used build up every recharge cycle, though.
  17. Hard to argue with that assessment.
  18. Overall I enjoyed Nemesis. Father Xmas hit the problems I had with it: I didn't like the dune buggy, I didn't like the prototype. Additionally I thought it would have been better had Data had his on again, off again emotional chip turned on when he decided to sacrifice himself for Picard. It would have been an apology for the awful scene where he was afraid to die in Generations (First Contact already had such an apology when the Borg reactivated it against his will, but there's nothing wrong with another.)

I thought it was a better than Insurrection at any rate, which really did play out like a two part episode rather than a movie in my opinion.
  19. Background audio was too loud, but cool anyways.

Apparantly, people really, really like it. It's been on the air longer than any Trek series with enough viewers to justify its production costs to a group of people whose career purpose is to can old and expensive shows.
  21. I hate the respec interface. May not even respec any of my existing brutes to take advantage of the change, though all characters I've made since are created with it in mind. Provided you don't have to respec an existing character WITHOUT the pool to get it. I'm not sure how that will work so far: I have a mastermind *without* the fitness pool. Will I get the pool when I log him in after I19, or will I have to respec to get it?
  22. To suck less?

God I hate spines. The only thing vaugely interesting about it in conjunction with brutes is the possibility of feeding two damage auras with Fury. Even then I'm not sure two auras running would outdamage a single 300% footstomp in said footstomps recharge time even just running hasten.

I do like the new metal spines, though, on my spines/sr (I have an alt of every melee primary). Much better than the death bananas.
  23. Well. Just smashed another pylon. 24 minutes, which is what I expected from my first attempt. I have NO idea what was the problem with the 'quit at 38 minutes half smashed' run. It was really soon after GR hit... perhaps server lag was higher than I anticipated? Though virtue is still red as it has been every day since I18.

Well, in any case... my place at the bottom of the list is secure another day. SMASH!
  24. I liked the 'catch a car' training in tonight's episode.

The kids didn't bother me too much.

Meta of the week was just plain nasty.

    I'll keep watching.
