Quote:It may be that the Beta Testers channel is close to the cap, and a lot of the accounts that are members of the channel may be inactive accounts. With all due respect, there's already a "Beta Tester" global channel on Test. Isn't making another global channel a little redundant and confusing? I know it was for me, during the Halloween event test.
By creating a channel just for the event, it makes it easier to wipe it out after the even, and also to parse logs if needed.
That would be my guess as to why a new channel was created. I could be wrong, but it would at least make sense. -
Please be sure to send a PM to Arbiter Kim with a link to this thread.

Not only do you get a $10 booster pack with the Architect Edition, you also get a month of free game time so another $15 worth of goodness.
I've seen the Architect Edition selling for $20, and you get $25 worth of goodies so you are basically getting a $5 discount. Also, it gives a decent reinstall DVD if you have to do a clean install. -
Are you talking game time at HeroCon? Or game time prior to going to HeroCon? If the latter, yes, you have to supply your own machine. If you are talking about at HeroCon, there was a LAN room set up with quite a few computers to play on.

That is a completely different issue Krogoth. I'd recommend starting your own thread stating what the problem is, and give the results from running CoH Helper as it will give information about your system and the CoH installation and settings.
Then, post a log from running HijackThis. This will show what else is going on on your computer while you are playing CoH.
EDIT: Yeah, firewalls can do that. Be sure to check your router settings and adjust accordingly. -
Try running it in Windowed mode instead of Full Screen. If needed, download and install TweakCoH to allow you to change the setting before you launch the game.
Also, if you launch the game in Safe Mode, does the same problem occur? -
If the game folders are still there, the game is likely still installed. Check in the game folder to see if CoHUpdater.exe is there as well as CityOfHeroes.exe
It sounds as if all that happened was that the shortcut was removed from the desktop. -
Can we get clarification on which channel to join? Your post lists "2009 Winter Event" as the channel name, but the GMoTD when logging in says the channel is named "Winter 2009". Both channels exist, so not sure which to use.

Don't set it to run in XP Compatibilty mode. I've seen reports of people having problems due to that.
You may want to set it to Run as Administrator to make things easier. Basically, Windows 7 and Windows Vista treat programs a bit differently, and programs with Update in the name of the file will require Administrator access to run correctly in some cases. For example, when a new Issue or patch is released, it will need Administrator access to be able to actually download the updates. Without that access, it won't update. -
It's likely due to your video card drivers. That either isn't a Windows 7 driver or it's a really old alpha or beta Windows 7 driver.
I'd check the Toshiba support site to see if they have a Windows 7 driver for your video card. I can't see which specific model of the Satellite L35 you have, so can't tell for certain if there is a Windows 7 driver available for it. All of the different L35 models I looked at listed a 32-bit Windows 7 Display Driver with a date of 9-4-2009, so you can likely find one there. -

Quote:This, except, skip the endo discount, any type of buffs etc..... allow walk to remove rooting. Imagine walking through your mission punching, shooting, stomping, blasting etc whatever is stupid enough to step in front of you. I imagine it on my Assault rifle blaster.
Slow walk into warehouse....walk down hall...smart talkin thugs come after me...slug...buckshot....keep walkin.... with this song lol:

it wouldnt work for powers like full auto or snipes mind you, but for basic attacks to have rooting removed would make for epic demo records and badass-ery.
of course, i expect this would be extremely time consuming and wouldnt work on a lot of powers, but still, I can imagine -
Maybe I should ask the cougar if he met the size limit?

You may want to email Marketing about this, since this is entirely their bailiwick.

The system running 32-bit Win 7 and MSE has 2 GB of RAM. I'm just not impressed with how bloated AVG has been getting of late.

Exactly.

Well I kinda get it, but I don't see why it matters

Good luck on the Posi TF.
Maybe next month something will be run that all of the tankers that show can agree on. -
Okay, we need to start multiple threads in multiple forums about how the rednames lied to us about how long this would take.
For anyone unsure, the above comment is purely a joking comment. Luckily, the Devs and Community Team know that I am a sarcastic poster and that I don't take off my sarcastic hat.
Ever.
EDIT: Of course, just as I post this I get a server selection screen. -
As I said, I didn't know the differences, and frankly I was too lazy to research them.
I stand corrected. -
LOL. See what happens when you stalk them so openly on the forums?

The WALK power was tested, but it may not have had enough SIMULANEOUSLY logged on testers to simulate the normal load on even one of the lower pop servers.
I tested it myself, and even did some recording of my characters walking around.
The MOST I saw logged on at one time was 5 people. If you extrapolate from those 5 heroes that there were also 5 villains logged on, that's 10 whole people. I was logged on for well over 45 minutes with minor breaks as I switched characters. This is one of the problems with them posting up anything on the Test server, they are often unable to get enough SIMULTANEOUSLY logged in characters to simulate actual server load.
As for them not telling us stuff, you obviously haven't been paying attention because they've told us lots of this stuff. Some of it was in answer to direct questions during a panel at HeroCon, which players have been good enough to post about here on the forums, some of it was even before we got to the question phase of that panel at HeroCon. Some of the things we've learned have come directly from Dev posts here on the forums, especially BAB and Castle. -

In other words, if we can't see the comments, then the ability to comment should be nuked to save hard drive space.
Bolding is mine. -
Beginning to come to that conclusion myself, and was getting ready to scroll up to quote my previous post when yours came in.
Still, we've got a bit over 15 minutes by my clocks.
