Quote:Yes. But I've also had the NVIDIA "display driver stoppped working" issue for a while as well.Anyone getting this?
The NVIDIA OpenGL driver detected a problem with the display
driver and is unable to continue. The application must close.
Please visit http://www.nvidia.com/page/support.html for help.
Error code: 4
Have an EVGA NVIDIA 8800GT SSC connected to a Sony Z5100 TV, running Vista Home Premium SP2
EDIT: Upgraded to Nvidia 260 drivers and played...ahem...many...hours and had no display driver issues. Still crashed twice but unrelated to that. -
Have you tried running it in safe-mode? Check the box in the launcher.

Sounds like a FAAAAAABulous Vet Reward idea! ( ' ;
But, seriously, great sink for vanguard merits. -
From Day 1.....
Implement dynamically generated maps rather than recycling the same few;
Launch CoV at the same time;
Encourage base raids around the clock using copies of offline PC characters as NPC base sentries. -
Very possible and reasonable to question it, but the lengths to which some people have decided to react ("icky carebears"?) doesn't really track with the proposed information -- it's not like she's going to directly benefit from people checking the box....

Well, City Of Heroes was on my radar for a while. My previous MMO experience had been Dark Age of Camelot for a few years and then a few months of Star Wars Galaxies (much to my disappointment at how unfinished it arrived.) I had been a huge fan of Freedom Force and was keeping tabs on CoH, even back when it was still an open power system. Finally, one fateful day came the beta invite and I've been here just about ever since.

Quote:GG is just passing on some information that could be of benefit. DOn't see the point of going off on her. For those that counter with the statement that you've been invited to lots of closed betas previously, the key phrase was "never be eligible for a closed beta invite ever again" (also highlighted in red). If you think it's crazy, then leave it as is. For me, it's always been yes and it really isn't a whole lot of spam that they send out.I've just found out via the beta chat channel that if you've disabled receiving the NCSoft newsletter on your master account profile, you'll never be eligible for a closed beta invite ever again.
I'm not sure if turning the newsletter back on is enough or not, or if it needs a red name to get you back to being available for possible invites in the future, but for anyone who doesn't have the newsletter turned on, you should go to your master account right away, and edit your contact information to accept the newsletter. -
They'll just email you the code, right? Or, atleast, you don't really have to download their stuff, I hope?

I WANT delicious meat-based NOMS in my City of Heroes game!

Quote:*flick* He really meant "wrong", not literally wrong as you put it. Primal earth is still an anomaly as he proposed it. ( ' :Which makes us an anomaly of the most common denominators of each time line.
If you take the sum total of timelines as the core truth of reality, then ours is the one that's wrong.
Which means other time lines trying to "Fix" us may be justified. -
It's clear that the Party Pack has saved Paragon (and NcSOFT!) after that whole Going Rogue fiasco and forcing subscribers to choose between only 2 product SKUs..... ( ' ;

Quote:I can see why the devs scrapped the City Vault - you guys are eventually just going to make it for them for free, aren't you?Quote:They practically have. I think all that's really missing is a way we can post builds to our character pages. Other than that, I'm not sure how much more can be added.
Edit some more!: or upload costume files! That could be so epic.
Then they just need to get that mac version out of the door. -
Quote:If it's a choice between Issue 19 and 1-2 more days of halloween . . . I'll take I19 thanks.Quote:I am totally excited over Issue 19 coming out, but I could easily wait a couple extra days if it meant the Halloween event would last a couple more days. I have to agree with Bad_Influence though, I highly doubt they are skimping on the Halloween Event in order to get Issue 19 out any earlier. I think it would be a safe bet to say mid-November to Mid-December for Issue 19, especially since DCUO has been pushed back so much. No rush for Issue 19 now.

Of course, they RiFed him after discovering he wasn't an ambi-turner, or that he was programmed to assassinate the prime minister or Malaysia.
-
Pretty quick update he made -- guess he's watching how we eulogize him. Best of luck BaBs, I'll write you a recommendation ( ' :
-
Well, they could just pull a Dukes of Hazzard, substituting Coy and Vance briefly for Bo and Luke. In this case, it's Statesman's cousin, the Diplomat, who arrives in Paragon to help out while State's is away. In true DoH fashion, the Diplomat would wear States' costumes. ( ' :
-
Perhaps Neverwinter will have one lone bright spot then, courtesy of BaB's talents.
-
Did BaBs go to...Cryptic?
His linkedin lists him as Senior Animator/VFX at Cryptic Studios (and doesn't appear to be a reference to his previous employment there.) -
So, I've dealt with the the "driver stopped responding issue" on my nvidia evga 8800 gt ssc card for a long while. Followed all of the steps available but it never really went away. Recently, from another thread, I had discovered the EVGA Precision program which is used for overclocking. I installed it with the intention of manually controlling the fan (turning it up assuming there was a heat issue) as well as monitoring performance.
Well, last night, on a 6 controller/scrapper/warshade team with lots of effects going off, I ran fine for quite a while but at one point got that annoying message as the screen went black. I quickly switched over to precision to see what the temperature was, expecting it to have pushed 95+ degrees. Instead, it was still in the 70s but the GPU appeared to have spiked to 100% utilization at that time (and dropped off sharply right afterwards).
General thoughts? -

If you're just going to learn to program "academically", you can go with any of the above. If you learn better having a specific objective in mind, i.e., making something useful, you can always try VBA, particularly inside of Excel, to make good stuff.

Sources of inspiration for naming:
- Old games and role-playing sessions - 'Slickhawk' was a D&D redbox thief, a very unsuccessful one I might add;
- Song names and lyrics - 'Texarkana' comes from R.E.M.'s Out of Time album, actually an accident because I confused the song with Country Feedback;
- Homage to people (real-life or fictional) with mashups of names. 'Dr. Barney Horrible', a smooth-talking mastermind with a death ray, is inspired from How I met your mother and Dr. Horrible's singalong blog. 'Dr. Evil Jones' is a demon summoning archeologist with a trusty flaming whip and a penchant for putting lasers on the head of sharks....etc.
- Foreign Languages - (I studied Latin but there are plenty of translators on the web. I have a buffy the vampire-slayer inspired storm/electric defender that was the next chosen one. She became 'Vis Divina';
- Phrases! Everyone has a cat girl and, likley a good many of them, she is a Cat-woman derivative (Julie Newmar specifically..meeow), but what to do since I was so late to the party. I started thinking about common descriptions of cats and their actions. My claws/dark scrapper (and alternate universe praetorian demon/dark mm) is named 'The Purr in the Dark' (if only devs would fix the "The" bug in names);
- Medical Terminology/Jargon - Probably more of a one shot deal for me, but upon discovering of a "Gamma Knife" procedure, I had to make 'Gamma-Knife'. You could expand upon this if you have a theme and are looking for words in the particular topic/occupation.
- Thesaurus and qualifiers - Synonyms ftw. Qualifers are basically an adjectives/adverbs you can pop in front of a name. Thunder becomes Blue Thunder.

I find that most non-Controller ATs come into their own in that mid-20 range. Consider that you can make a reasonable attack chain, you likely have stamina, and you're, at the very least, upgrading to SOs. For controllers, it's not until 32 when you get the pet, not that you asked ( ' ;

Well, in the first picture, we have an old city of heroes. In the new picture, it's a shiny new city of heroes.... ( ' :
