Based on this it looks like I probably CAN and have done this in the past but didn't realize it. Any time I am in Gamestop or Big Lots (of all places, they sell sell this game for 7 bucks!) I pick one up. I am guessing if it is a SEALED NEW game from online, it wouldn't be any different than buying one on sale in store. Does anyone else have any input/experience on this?

I don't mean to argue what was just given as a response to my OP, I just got curious and checked my account and found the above. So does that REALLY mean I can't use the same type of code?
The comments with the codes aren't necessarily consistent.

As Forbin stated. In addition....there was a CoV collector's edition.

If you find a sealed copy of the Mission Architect Edition, that code allows you to also select either the cyborg pack or magic pack for free.

The Mac Edition includes the Valkyrie Costume set and mission transporter..

The Good Versus Evil Edition includes the Sinister and Justice costume sets, plus pocked d transporter, and jump pack.

The CoH collector's edition has the cape of the 4 winds and prestige power slide power.

The CoV collector's edition has the arachnos symbol.

The pre-orders don't give any time and the items are available as vet rewards now.

You have a perfectly good forum, and in game events where these could have been handed out.

EDIT - Thanks to all who gave the idea of creating a fake account in the name of one of my toons (and a fake email account too). I know have a code. And I feel less dirty than I end up feeling at the end of a Friday night.
The goal is to promote CoH externally. The forums are for those "in-the-know". By essentially pulling the forumites out into a social media tool like facebook, it raises awareness of CoH to the extended network of the forumites and, furthermore, all of those "likes" will eventually push to be a suggestion/recommendation to those outside of the forumite network. It's an easy, relatively free way to market the game. It's a good strategy.
  5. A few questions I'd like to see officially answered...

1.) What happens to those of us that are subscribed out way into the future? For example, my sub runs through Feb 2013 and so I won't be billed again until then. Do I get a credit of tokens (and paragon points) upon conversion to the Freedom model?

2.) What happens to our unredeemed vet rewards on existing characters?
  6. It's hardly a "contest". The first batch of 5,000 went up yesterday and there's talk of 20,000 total, which should cover just about everyone who actively plays I suspect. The goal is to promote CoH's profile on facebook, nothing more.
  7. There was a COH switcher or splasher program that could be used to swap out the login screens....I don't think it has been maintained over the years, possibly issues with either the .net framework, windows aero (in vista), or something else that would break it.
  8. ...you get terribly annoyed when your google search results include links to Company of Heroes.

That seems...stupid? Very? What happened to that 'Caring most about our vets' spiel?

I can instantly think of stuff I'd skip out on (Vanity pets and Greek letters) for something I actually USE.
New people get to pick and choose the order they receive things in the tiers....Veterans don't because technically they should have it all already...

This is also a very good question.

What part of this game is actually competitive? This is one of the most cooperative games going.
  13. What's that window/overlay listing damage bonus, regeneration rate, and recovery rate?
  14. So, I get 81 months come August 3rd, and if Paragon runs a bit late, then I hit 84 months -- Yay, Tier 9. BUT, here's the thing I'd like to know....I'm subscribed through Feb 2013 (not a typo, 2013), which equates to 99 months.

Given I won't get billed again until 2013, will I still get those rewards (and points) up front when Freedom does hit?

    Game Crashing...

Same error as OP just now for the first time after a 3 hour gaming session, just popping out of the Train station in PI.
  17. I'll sign up as an alt, Gamma-Knife, but no hard feelings if there's no room this week ( ' ;
  18. I may be on in time to join you -- probably best to stick me on standby, not sure which toon will run yet as I have an itch to play at least 3 different ATs at the moment ; ' p

Sorry for the confusion everyone, as you can imagine, we have a lot of moving parts going on here, sadly, a pair of asterisks ended up in the wrong place, consequently delivering the wrong information.

    To clarify this definitively:
All Incarnate content is restricted to VIP players.
Is the Ascension armor (and other rewards from astral and empyrean merits) considered incarnate content? I would assume not, given you unlock it with merits, but would that become a greyed out costume option if someone gained access to GR and Incarnates through the freedom model (not outright buying GR) and then went premium?
