I have had that bug as well, except that it was another image (a player avatar).
It seems that Safari sometimes confuses images in its cache, so all occurences of a forum element can be replaced with another (larger) image.
The only way to restore the original looks that I found was to reset the browser cache. Once the history was cleared, the browser had to re-load all the images and everything was fine.

Quote:Because this way you can cancel the power prematurely, thus having the power ready for its next use earlier. (And no, if it was a click, this wouldn't work even if you could cancel its effect.)I can accept that the hybrid 'toggles' are not supposed to be constant-use, but why make them a toggle then? Why not just make them a click power. Seems pointlessly complicated to me.
10joy -
This has been discussed over literally hundreds of posts during beta. Several players did not agree with the developers' decisions, and yes, there were some changes to Hybrid during beta, but you can see what the developers decided to go live with.
We were told that Hybrid was not supposed to be always on. The original way to force you to shut off the toggle was a prohibitive endurance cost... and that version did not have any passive effects at all. Just be happy that we didn't get that version.

It's a mechanic very similar to the Universal Travel sets: Now the developers have a way to code enhancement sets that can be slotted in (almost) all damage-dealing powers.
Oh, you're asking for enhancement sets that actually use this? On live, there aren't any yet. You might be able to earn some of those later... maybe during the summer... perhaps by going to the movies?

The cheapest way is to buy a lot of paragon points. (You get tokens for the amount of points you buy, and the more points you buy, the less the individual point costs.)
The developers intended the paragon points for multi-month subscriptions to be awarded at the time of purchase; unfortunately, that didn't work for some technical reasons. So, if you subscribe for half a year, you do get six paragon tokens over those six months, but only one per month.
If you unlock Celestial Armor before i23 launches, the costume pieces will remain unlocked for your characters even after the Celestial Armor reward has been replaced by the Mecha Armor reward.

Just being curious: If the animations could be swapped at will, what reasons would people have to choose one powerset over the other? And, more importantly, what reasons would they have to choose the OTHER powerset at all?
10joy -
What exactly were you trying to buy?
Some things can only be bought once, even though they seem to be available multiple times. (For example, you cannot buy the sixth costume slot twice, you'd have to buy the sixth and SEVENTH costume slot.)

Actually, I tend to forget that my charas do have lore pets. But since the background story that links my charas together uses an interpretation of the wisp pet (from the veteran rewards), I tend to build the Polar Lights lore as long as the chara's own backstory doesn't call for a specific pet.

Quote:You mean, something like... this?Besides, they haven't told us what day they are cycling out the Celestial costume set and they said they'd let us know when they had an idea when exactly it would happen...

Quote:Don't forget that the level of this specific enhancement does not change its effect in any way, so it doesn't really matter which one you get. Just put up a few bids across recipes of all the different levels; you'll receive one sooner or later. (Standard marketeer tip: Never ever insist on buying something "right now". You will pay way too much that way.)...speaking of which, I've been having a hell of a time getting one of these - the market has been empty for me on every level of this IO when I've checked
That being said, the set is available only at relatively low levels. If most of the players have been playing high-end content lately, it's quite possible that low-level recipes have become comparatively scarce.

Hi, everybody,
most of my charas don't use the game titles you can earn at level 15 and 25, so I never got to see what happens with a chara's title when switching sides: Are titles kept (until the next change), removed, or replaced by another title?
For example, if the Heroic Honorable H-Man would ever discover his darker side and became a villain, would he simply be known as H-Man, or could he keep the (admittedly misleading, but that's the point) attributes Heroic and Honorable?
(Determining the reason why H-Man was called H-Man to begin with is left as an exercise for the reader.)

Quote:Actually, if you didn't install the game from your admin account, and if you didn't put the game folder into the windows programs folder, it patches just fine. (The game might still ask for admin rights when the launcher comes up, but even if you decline them, the patcher runs fine.)Having installed the game on my child's non-admin account, I can verify that without admin rights, the game will not be patched, if needed. Now, if you are patching on another machine periodically, the fact that it skips this on the school machine probably doesn't matter. But if you are not otherwise patching, then the client may become unstable or unplayable at all after a patch.

I don't think we need more incentive for hunting giant monsters. They aren't supposed to be farmed.

At what Arachnos base did you try logging out? (It doesn't work at hostile Arachnos bases.) As for the ports, I always logged out on board of the ferry itself instead of somewhere on land. Maybe you were too far away from the ship?

I'm sorry I won't be able to join you today, but I will try to unlock the LRSF until next friday.

Perfect! Thank you all for a great trial!

Quote:Fun fact: Strictly speaking, that wasn't the bug. You see, when the LGTF was designed, the green mitos were supposed to have 50 points of status protection. The TF was tested, then went live, and nobody ever complained, so the developers assumed it was okay.in the several teams i have been on even full teams of poeple couldnt kill a single green mito because of the power it has when it is not held (this was back then they were bugged and they had mag 50 hold protection)
Of course it wasn't. But, due to a sign bug that nobody had noticed, the green mitos didn't actually have 50 points of hold protection - they held themselves with a magnitude 50 hold! Of course they could be defeated easily...
Until a developer caught the bug, and "fixed" it. Now the green mitos really had 50 points of status protection, rendering them almost unbeatable if you didn't come prepared.
Their protection was quickly lowered to a much more reasonable amount shortly afterwards.

Here's my first build attempt for a time/ice defender.
Burnout is there mainly for double Blizzarding. Power Boost is used to improve Farsight's effectivty. I enjoy holding things, and Soul Storm's animation looks awesome, so I also included that power.
If you have any suggestions for improvements or other recommendations, I'd be happy to hear from you.

Hi, everybody,
I realize that the developers haven't yet published the PPM formulas for cone and TAoE attacks yet. I remember reading on the forums that somebody claimed to have figured out the TAoE part with 99% certainty, but wasn't sure about cones yet.
I did some quick attacks on the test server, and got the feeling that the ATO proc seemed to fire more often in Energy Torrent (a cone) than in Explosive Blast (a TAoE). Of course there's the possibility that I just had strange luck with the dice, so I'd like to know your opinion:
Do you think there's a significant reason to slot the ATO set into a cone rather than into an TAoE power, or does it come down to personal preference?
I want to use my freespec on one of my blasters before we get the new one tomorrow, so I need to decide whether to put the Blaster's Wrath set into a cone attack or into a TAoE attack. (I can't put it into a single-target attack because those slots are needed for other set bonuses.)
(Two days ago I posted this question in an older thread in which the PPM procs were discussed, but received no responses at all. I assume that my message wasn't read because people assumed it was just an answer to that thread. I apologize for the double posting.)
Thank you for your thoughts on this,
10joy -
Speaking of ATO procs... I believe somebody posted that they figured out the ATO proc formula for circular area effects but weren't sure about cones.
Even if there's no exact formula yet, would you say that ATO procs work better in cones, or in TAoE attacks?
Thanks for any information on this,
10joy -
Why don't I do PvP? There's a very clear answer to that: Why should I? Why on earth would I want to do something that causes bad feelings?
Either I lose, then I feel bad. Or I win, then another player feels bad. That's a loss/loss-scenario! Playing this game is supposed to be fun, but in my humble opinion it should not be fun at the cost of somebody else's fun.
Just look at true PvP games like that very successful and famous DotA clone whose initials seem to indicate that somebody was laughing hard. Listen to the players talk to each other. They get truly angry! They curse at each other, even at their team members!
When I spend some free time playing games, I want to have a good time. I want to enjoy playing. PvP requires me to spoil somebody else's fun in order to have fun myself. I don't want to do that, therefore I don't PvP.
